  1. Can't see Kerr wanting a trip from deepest East to deepest West every week Barker, Trigger nailed on. I'd be surprised if Pearson, Thompson and Bowtell weren't in strong contention. Can't see Howarth or Gilkes back either. Getting 2 good Heat Leaders will be main job on Saturday night
  2. Never liked the track or the fans to be honest. Tribal loyalty though goes out if the window when the chips are down. I genuinely feel for those who loved the team, loved the track and loved their nights out there. As others have said its about lifetime memories, friends and relatives no longer here and the massive big hole left behind. Hopefully they can find a new home, I 100% hope they do.
  3. I must get down the Clinic. I've spent all day reading this thread wondering whats all the fuss about a challenge match for a cup sponsored by a kids iced drink they suck. So it's not the Jubbley Cup, no free iced drinks then Doh
  4. Jack Thomas and Anders Rowe have no luck with injuries but have sadly to be seen as a risk as a result. Kyle Newman has had shoulder issues since his Birmingham days pre Covid Any 2 pointers won't have has the track time at Poole that others may have had riding NDL at places like Berwick, Edinburgh, Oxford, Workington or extensive practice options at Scunny, Redcar. So right 2 pointer choice for Poole with little practice options will be key. Lawson and Cooks look obvious but beyond that lots of decisions to make.
  5. He's reminiscent of Rene Aas and Nicky Allott Looks a worldie one night and a wobbler the next. Have yo say he has found more consistency this season though.
  6. Best get BT on alert Middlo will be trashing every phone in Dorset
  7. Fair play to him and Rob Godfrey and Scunny. Great man management to get the kid happy on a bike again
  8. No surprise if you read the thread. Peter usually has his finger on the pulse. I think the main problem with Braefield is that whilst it's within an hour of a massive catchment area its actually in the middle of nowhere.
  9. 3 days in Tenerife in 3rd week November apparently
  10. We'll that's a bit of a Billy Big Bollocks attitude if true. The likes of Ryan Douglas and Josh Pickering I can fully understand but Brennan is 2 to 3 seasons away from that consistency level at least, if ever.
  11. With Kerr not being retained by Oxford wonder if Brennan is a shoe in at Oxford. No chance Plymouth would touch him after his antics there last few seasons and he is very poor round Poole. Not many other options on his aveage?
  12. Cook brothers will end up like Kurtz brothers. A decent PL heat leader and international level (Ben) and a journeyman PL reserve and CL second string respectively. (Zach) As with Brady and Todd
  13. It's a shame the Refs box and old domed Pits weren't taken to BCM when Dudley Wood closed. They were Black Country folklaw after all.
  14. I think they'll have riders like Pijper and Trigger, Harrison who have had a valiant attempt too early on a Rising Star rating so that they can be assured of another bash and not penalised for getting teams out of a mess.
  15. One place that may be viable would be on land adjacent to the Black Country museum and the old Freightliner hub nd Zoo and Castle. It must have been seriously considered many times and discarded for some reason.
  16. Thanks for clarifying. He could be nailed on to go back there then with Erik Riss not at his best and Charles Wright having a long road back to fitness. A number of clubs will probably be hoping Richie Worrall somehow avoids a 2 year ban.
  17. Sunday afternoon 2pm ish might work well for Comets if Berwick and Plymouth are Saturday night Teams. Possibly Kyle Howarth might prefer the trip to the North West more than the South West and be really suited by the wide open spaces? If Lewis Kerr is surplus to requirements at Oxford another possible fit. Can't see him at Poole or Plymouth or Scunthorpe. Not sure if he burned his bridges at Redcar so Worky would be bext nearest? How about James Wright if Brummies step up to PL.? All three racers on what seems to be a proper race track.
  18. More chance of seeing Yasser Arafat in a synagogue than Richard Lawson riding in Cumbria..
  19. Just before Covid from memory. Near the M27 and Airport I think. They did indicate it would initially be a training track though.
  20. Hearing Poole about to throw their lot in with NORA. Ford jnr keen to "find a level we can win at again very quickly"
  21. Well done Glasgow. We'll done the Facennas Very professional performance. Hats off to Ace sone Great starts certainly played their part.
  22. It's really very simple and a good Team Manager would stress it. Every 3 - 3 is a step to victory. If you can't win a race don't finish last If you get a lead just ride to win the race no messing about. If you're tailed off keep going you never know what will haoown If one of the opposition is miles in front don't chase him, hold back and ride tactically to get your team mate in to a 3 3 position Use any gate advantage to your advantage e. g Ace may not get a point but if he can be a mobile chicane for a few laps he can help the team. Cliche I know but one race at a time
  23. My hunch as others have alluded to. PL possibly rebranded Elite. Aim to gave a GP level rider t number 1 and a couple of strong domestic level heat leaders at 2 and 3. A couple of 5 to 6 point second strings and a reserve and rising star CL One heat leader from PL from 2nd or 3rd HL slot Second string and reserve PL allowed in heat leader CL roles. Second string in CL must be no higher than PL reserve or rising star Reserves in CL to be NDL current second strings or reserves This would involve a thorough list of all riders listed by category for HL SS RS respectively for both leagues. PL standard higher CL standard a mid point between CL and upper NDL Lower NDL level to ride in 6 heat junior teams for any PL or CL clubs who wanted as second half No B Teams in 2 leagues. Aim to get Workington, Mildenhall possibly Kent financially able to compete in CL by fixed pay rates no guarantees.
