  1. Josh Pickering is a class act. Watched him at Leicester this season and he just blew me away with his style and determination. Great rider to watch
  2. Hey Steve, Poole win everything all of the time that's why I chose to support them remember!
  3. Yes that is true but what is the point of having a rider who will be odds on to finish in the bottom 3 of the series as a wild card pick. He won a GP but he is a one hit wonder. Latvian rider Andzejs Lebedevs would be a far better option than Smolinski.
  4. Extremely daft when there are only 3 riders. The Under 21 rule in the SON only really benefits one country.....Poland! The SWC is due to return every 3 years and would make more sense having an Under 21 in that as the teams will have 5 riders.
  5. GOLD is all he strives for & until he achieves that or reaches 99 years old he won't step aside at all. I understand wot ur sayin about being involved if not riding but u wud expect that of any team GB squad rider, for example if Lambert isn't picked. But u seem to be overlooking all the guidance he's already given to British youngsters away the team GB set up. He gives his spare time up when over ere for the winter or visiting family. Look wot he as done for Dan Bewley in Wroclaw. He's shared mechanics, guidance & machinery. The GB set up wudn't be wot it is now without Tai being about. Never mind wot Rosco says coz he didn't want the set up that Tai wanted. Trust me there's no one more committed to the cause than Tai Woffinden. True Grit True Brit
  6. For the future? Tai is only 31 and just signed a new 3 year deal with Wroclaw hardly over the hill. Who else better to learn from when riding alongside in a major international tournament?
  7. Why wud Tai step aside when he as stated so many times how he wants to lead his country to GOLD. Av the weekend off? You make it sound like he doesn't give a do da!
  8. Totally agree. Woffinden, Bewley, Brennan. Lambert as proven his ability in the heat of battle with avin won the SEC and riding well in Poland and GPs. But Tai rides with Dan in Wroclaw and as guided Dan's progression in Poland. They know each other inside out on the track and in the pits. Dan also as superior track knowledge at the NSS where he holds the track record. Recent form around there with his maximums make his pick a no brainer. Tom Brennan is the British Under 21 champion and a Belle Vue rider with his performances getting better and better in the Premiership. Again no brainer. Tai, well he's Britain's best ever rider a 3x World Champion. May not be avin the best of seasons but is still a cut above anyone else that we have. He's a true leader and when the going gets tough who better to lead the way. The captain. C'MON GB
  9. Smolinski? Jeez and u'd put him ahead of Lambert!?! That's very progressive thinkin I must say!
  10. Hope they are both wearing their Pirates caps, jackets & shirts!
  11. Sincerely sorry to hear the circumstances. Maybe if u had posted due to family circumstances u had to leave early then u don't av to post a full explanation. From ur original post we had no idea and I apologise. Sorry Lewis
  12. Totally agree. Went to Newcastle's double header vs Poole & Plymouth. After we Pirates had won, by more than a few points!, you may av expected the crowd to thin by a fair amount but no, everyone stayed to show their support. At Scunny after heat 10 it was 24-36, 5 heats to go who knows what was going to happen. What if Scunny had come back into it? Ok you pay your money u take ur choice but it would've been egg on your face! An ostrich size egg would suitably av fitted this occasion! And still a 2nd leg to go, near 30 point deficits av been overturned before! Altho on this occasion I don't think Scunny stand a chance!
  13. Was similar at Long Eaton in '84 when we had Dave Tyler at reserve, he was an' unknown' at the beginning of the season but made a major impact at reserve as we went on to win the National League.
  14. Shame you can't make it but hope you get to sell the tickets. You may also want to post your message in the SON topic on ere as well to give it a wider audience. Cheers Have u tried Booya who posted a message asking for tickets (above). Private message Booya
  15. Maybe there is less call offs in October but is that because they run meetings in dreadful conditions? Meetings that would ordinarily be called off get pushed through to get them done before the end of the season deadline.
  16. Well we've already got Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck doing the commentary!
  17. From the moment I watched Basso on the Gasso make his debut at Redcar he just looked pure class! Basso will be key to a successful end to the season for us Pirates!
  18. Yep they could, only on a personal note it could make my travel and accommodation tricky & more costly. Friday, most places want you to book Saturday as well. Sunday I may av to book Saturday night as well. But hey, it is wot it is when you rely on the trains. This is for the Pirates cause and I'll only do it for the cup final and play offs
  19. The decline in performances by Erik Riss is a total shock, when I watched him become the Championship Riders' champion he was absolutely smashing it. I believed he could fly.............
  20. At the moment the weather only looks like a problem for the Leicester fixture on Saturday as heavy rain is forecast from 1pm through the rest of the day according to the met office. Wouldn't surprise me if the fixture is moved to Sunday if all officials & riders are available. Could well hear about this tomorrow.
  21. Did Gaming Int write that song..... When the red red Robin goes bob bob bobbing along shoot the b*stard!!!!!
  22. Yeah that's possible, I've read in the speedway star that they are announcing their plans for next season's GP series at a press conference in Torun on Friday. So they've maybe already given plenty of thought to the wildcards as well.
  23. I would say as soon as the last race is done, I'd imagine they've already drawn up a few alternative lists depending upon the results in Torun. I would say the top six will stay as they are now. Hope Tai can get up to third overall
