Speedway clubs need to break away from venues owned by other parties such as greyhound stadiums as it's not a viable way to survive anymore. Yep I know, easier said than done unless u av a few bob in yer back pocket. We wouldn't have Belle Vue if they hadn't moved but of course no one would expect a NSS for every club.
Is the Wheels Project at Adderley Park worth a consideration? I guess this would have already been considered. I went there in '85 to watch Long Eaton and numerous other meetings.
From what I know the stadium is still there as you can see the floodlights when your on a passing train.
The BSPA & the other 'Promoters' need to do somet about it
Mind u us fans can help, I always walk around town (Long Eaton) with my Pirates colours on & many folk stop and chat speedway, spread the word so to speak.
A dear old lady grabbed me as I stepped off the bus the other day, thought I was in there!
Why oh why do promoters always look at achieving the break even figure when they should always aim higher.
This is why clubs lose money coz they reach a 'break even' figure but then don't look beyond that so the crowd then only goes one way.
Cud u imagine goin into Dragons Den without declaring what profit you aim to make!
Maybe ur right, he let us down big time the last time, the non appearance at Wolves in the play off semi. I was there that night, think Kurtz failed to score but we still only just missed out.
Lisa ur supposed to say no it's not ridiculous coz he's decided to break his contract in both countries coz Middlo said he would end up with egg on his face rather than on his toast if he didn't sign up as a Pirate!
