Another fantastic win by the Pirates this time over table topping Cheetahs. The win was NID but the bonus point......what a valiant effort by the Boyzzzzz being 16pts up on 4 occasions only to av it snatched away in a last heat decider. Poor old Ben in heat 9 with an ef when leading Nicholls & Masters turned out to be a crucial blow when it came to the bonus point. Luck came our way though with Nicholls early engine troubles. Special mention to Nathan Ablitt.......well done lad you are on the way after your apprenticeship last season as a Pirate. The confidence in your riding is there for all to see and you took a well deserved lap of honour after heat 2. You've come a long way and you will go a lot further in your career. C'mon the Boyzzzzz

Steve u naughty chap! 5-1 to Pirates in heat 2 NID! Ablitt could well strengthen Pirates at reserve given Adam's recent performance, 3 retirement's in one meeting is inexcusable. Give it large for Nathan! Get well soon Adam as I'm sure u will get back to performing well

I know a promoter that once told me in writing that you should expect it being a speedway supporter........hence I never went back to that track again while he remained there!

On me way down to the Pirate Ship currently in London Victoria avin a Costa flat white. This time it's all looking good for sum speedway action and it's gonna be a real belter of a meeting. Hey well it's all the fun of being a speedway fan

Yes Steve that pot of Pirate gold needs emptying soon But the weather ain't looking great & I cud find myself in a similar situation to last week regarding my travel unless early call off later today with it being Edinburgh.
