  1. Brilliant, I'll be seeing him next Tuesday at the Long Eaton sos. He's a top fella
  2. Hey Barry, can you and Martin work your magic with a Long Eaton represented team next season. Mind you, you would sadly need your bulldozer to knock down the housing estate that was built on top the stadium on Station Road.
  3. Next season: One league. 5 riders per team of which one must be a British rising star at reserve (no.5). 15 heats. This will give the top 4 a minimum of 6 rides (unless replaced by a reserve) each and the no.5 a minimum of 4 rides. Then there will be the nominated heat 15 so 2 of the riders will have an additional ride. Possibly no tactical rides but a reserve may come in twice. This will end all the doubling up nonsense and riders will have more rides during a meeting therefore cutting out the need to ride for 2 teams. More variety of teams to watch for the fans and a team of their own to identify with instead of watching all these 'select' teams. Also introduce a handicap ko cup competition for teams to compete for, you want more passing? Well handicap racing is the way to go and this would be a fantastic introduction to go alongside the standard league format (with the changes suggested above). Also of course keep the NDL running.
  4. Bomber certainly made a difference to us Pirates in our hour of need in 2018 play off semi & final. The move he pulled on Doyle at Wimborne Road to get us straight to the final was absolutey off the charts! Bomber played an integral part in us becoming 2018 PREMIERSHIP CHAMPIONS!
  5. Speedway Star still advertising a ticket and accommodation package for the weekend The SON website is showing the capacity at 4,000 which I'm sure is without the temporary stands.
  6. Fair point but it is one of several that he's had there this season. It certainly seemed to be pleasing Steady on tv last week as he was laughing and joking with him during and after the meeting after a 14+1 paid max. Proving his consistency of getting them around there is a step above one maximum & that wud sway my thoughts. Plus he's the track record holder. It is tho a tough call for wot I believe is a straight choice between him and Lambert SEC Champion & GP rider. Gotta be Bewley, surely? Better choose Tai coz I got me Tai Woffinden starter kit ready to wear! Anywayz I know Tai is definitely over ere in October so not to pick him wud be like well a bit silly really
  7. Your moaning about other people moaning so STOP moaning! Ermmmm, think I'm moaning as well now! Bugga!
  8. Surely now Bewley is a cert pick for the SON after another 15pt MAX at the NSS! WOFFINDEN BEWLEY BRENNAN No brainer!
  9. All together now......"Who do you think your kidding Mr Straatan if you think we're on the run" Dad's Army celebrate their success! Godfrey was the First Aider as Monmore was blitzed by Bomber command!
  10. Pearson just said live on air, "tweet in if u've had the central heating on yet" Just another of his moronic lines, get rid! Get Brando & Dave Rowe on meeting comms! central heating......next he'll be askin if u've had yer willie warmer on yet!
  11. Wonder if they if they are still planning to go to USA anytime soon for a GP especially now with the change of rights holders. While there isn't an American that is anywhere near up to the world class standards of Penhall, Ermolenko, Hancock & Hamill etc I'm sure Luke Becker could still mix it up a bit . Or will Wilbur Hancock be the next to crack it on the world stage? Speedway will benefit hugely from USA being represented in the GP once again and I think Luke Becker would be a refreshing addition along with a GP in USA .......yet the organisers seem to think that having some countries represented in the GP benefits them more even if the rider as failed to qualify automatically. Not sure what Slovakia and Slovenia being represented in the GP as done for the series especially now as their riders are 12th and 14th in the standings.
  12. yep, whoops.......fair point. Good job I'm not picking the wildcards!
  13. I'm talking about a permanent British wildcard pick for the whole GP series not just Cardiff. Sorry for any confusion.
  14. Lambert would be a good call for a wildcard but if he doesn't get picked for the SON and Bewley does this could change things regarding a British permanent wildcard pick. The organisers may completely over look choosing another Brit if they see that Lambert isn't good enough to be picked for the SON. All about being in the shop window. Depends also I guess when the wildcards are announced. Think I've confused myself
  15. Even on points scored there's no realistic way that Glasgow can catch us. We'll beat Redcar anyways!
  16. By my reckoning Pirates are now practically assured of a top 2 spot even with Glasgow winning at Berwick and getting 4pts. Tigers can only equal our 46pts but the For/Against race pts difference would av to take a massive swing for Tigers to pass us even if we were to lose to Redcar at home.......but od course we'll beat Redcar anyway so no more squeaky bums! I don't know if anyone else as noticed/mentioned this. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  17. Just got back in from the Lions Den. Very good meeting with gud battling displays from the Thompson Twins & Jordan Jenkins. Sum cracking racing, Pickering as taken a liking for Leicester and gave it everything he had. Anders Rowe & Drew Kemp, thought I'd see better performances from these two talented lads. Might excuse Kemp a bit as he was over in Bydgoszcz last night. Good win for the Lions and a very deserved point for the Monarchs. Crowd was thin though. Shame coz if folk stayed away to watch the GP on tv they missed a gud meeting. Shame on folk who do that!.......set yer sky box to record!
  18. I'll be there tonight. Looks a good close battle with both teams at full strength with Morris and Worrall back from injury. I'd like to see Lions win to secure their play off place. Hoping for a Pirates v Lions Final
  19. Pirates will win everything so that's about it really. Burrrrrrrrp, whoops sorry I just had a can of coke
  20. Just because race times may be similar it doesn't always mean the track is as safe as the week before. I'm saying this for any track/meeting and not directly at this meeting as I wasn't there last night. Holes/bumps etc..... may occur on a line which a rider is using to pass but the race leader is not on that line so still posts a fast time. Think I've proved my point.
  21. Matt Ford would've got away with heat 8 if he was team manager!
  22. But isn't Godfrey the saviour of everything speedway?!
