That's what I would like to know otherwise some of my posts will look a tad stoopid!

You never know, many things can happen to change the final score. Where does it say that Douglas is guesting? I'm not on facebook, twitter etc.... Not forgetting Dan Gilkes guesting at reserve, he's a great prospect
-
How the rain can come in handy at times!! Ere comes the rain la la la laaaa Ere comes the win la la la laaaa Lugless Douglas, just luvvin it when a Lion guests for us!

All the best to Schlein. Surely there as got to come a time when all this isolating business as got to come to an end. If u've had 2 vaccines then get on with it unless u feel to ill to ride. Pirates still to win, I predict 47-43 with Basso on the Gasso being the Pirate to be the rider of the meeting! C'mon the Pirates!

They supposed to be having 2 rising stars per team next year but how can this possibly happen. Even if they managed to fill approx 36 positions what happens when it comes to injuries? The competive ability of young riders to completey fill these positions just isn't there and they will be half a lap behind if not more by the end of the race. The last time they had 2 rising stars & injuries occurred the replacements were way behind even in the reserves race. Not the rider's fault, just the stupid rules!

One league, 5 riders per team of which one must be a rising star, 15 heats, I'm thinking this will give riders more rides per meeting (minimum 6 rides for the top 4 each + the no.5 minimum 4 rides, then the nominated heat) therefore cutting out the need to race for 2 teams. Those who are riding for 2 teams at the moment, which is most riders, will still have the same number of meetings under the new system (depending upon which clubs start next season). And have a handicap style cup competition. Keep the NDL.

It does surprise me that there isn't a fine, or is there?, for fielding an under strength team (pair) for the relevant federation. If every nation had problems with their best riders deciding not to ride or not being picked then the SON would soon become a farce. Matej Zagar as also pulled out but I guess with Slovenia not really having a chance of winning it seems to have been overlooked.

Emil was owed a lot of money at the time I understand and hadn't got the funds to get his equipment up to the required level of winning a world title. The Russian federation don't seemingly want to back their riders. Shame Roman Abramovich or someone of his ilk can't/won't spare some loose change like a couple of million to support the sport.

We would all love Emil and Artem to be in it because you always want the best riders competing from all nations in any competition. Semi final 2 now is looking very weak apart from Australia, it's a shame USA are not in that one as they would have a better chance of qualifying. Emil and Artem are NOT the real champions though whoever wins. When was the last time they raced at the NSS? Out of the likely finalists they would have the least experience of those strong enough to chase for gold. Australia with Doyle, Fricke & Holder, Team GB with (probable) Woffinden, Bewley, Brennan have the most knowledge around there so how can you say that Sayfutdinov & Laguta are the real champions?? That's without mentioning the Poles with Zmarzlik & Janowski who just like to win things! Yes it is a bit easier for the other nations now to either qualify and/or to win the SON but that is a lot different to this year's winners not being worthy champions. C'mon TEAM GB

Brandon, Rowe, Goddard are 'Top Drawer' and I know another place where Tatum could shove his dirt ometer and it will go all the way in !!! -
Why haven't Eurosport made the coverage any better. They should do what Premier Sports/Freesports do and interact with the fans during meetings by reading out questions & messages from social media. Instead we get the same garbled nonsense from Tatum & Pearson!

It is on tv next week, they said last night.

Only just noticed this. Agree, some kind of handicap team meetings needs to be introduced. Keep the traditional format for the league and have a cup competition with the handicap racing. Much like cricket, where they have introduced the 20/20 & the Hundred to add to the traditional county cricket and test matches. Look at the crowds and excitement!!! Sorry, your post was a few years ago now but your suggestion still stands as a great idea to have some kind of handicap racing. As we know Wolves have the Olympique and IOW run handicap racing and both are very entertaining and successful. So it doesn't need trialling, just a format drawn up. But wot do we the fans know?

Pearson and Tatum witter on all the time & not just about the NSS. They are unprofessional when together. It has been proven that when they are with someone else, i.e Tatum & Louis then hey presto professionalism returns. Why Eurosport haven't given Dave Rowe or Dave Goddard a spot on the main commentary I don't know. With Dave Rowe reporting on the night from the other meeting taking place or doing interviews I hope he is given an opportunity to take over the main meeting coverage. p.s I'll be at the SON so me ears will be free! -
As I previously mentioned there is no dog track at Leicester so you will get hit by shale on the bends and I did say u have to be there early for a seat in the stands or to stand at the front. And for viewing through people's heads, I'm sure if you asked politely someone would've moved up a bit to allow you to be at the front whether that is on the bends or straights. You don't get hit by shale at Newcastle because there is a dog track and 95% of the viewing is only from the home straight.

Whoever wins the ko cup semi between us & Lions will easily go on to win it. Shame we av been drawn together in the semi as this would make for a crackin finale. Altho I'm a Pirate my local track is Leicester so should be at both legs. Hopefully the play off final will see us do battle to the end
