Funny old meeting this with lots happening - 1st heat Sarj was judged to have got a flyer and received a warning - 3rd heat Jake Allen led but Paul Starke muscled his way past on the inside of turn 2 on the second lap which appeared to unsettle Jake who crashed in a heap approaching the 3rd bend - it looked nasty but thankfully Jake got up pretty quickly and then we were told that Paul Starke had been excluded - turned out out his footrest had gone into Jake’s front wheel which then collapsed down the back straight -3rd heat re-run again Sarj was judged to have guessed the start and was excluded - I was sitting some 6 feet in front of the tapes and 4 rows up and it looked to me Sarj just made a very good start - the gent behind me also thought the same - maybe sometimes he is paying for his previous notoriety - 5th heat Paul Hurry dumped Charles Wright on the deck on the 3rd/4th bend leaving Charles hopping up and down on his right leg - poor chap is only just back from injury and was none too pleased - some good passes by Scotty and Paul and I especially liked Charles’ never say die attitude in successfully chasing after Cameroon Heeps for 3rd place in heat 13 - Solid riding from Jake Allen and MPT - I have never seen James Sargeant ride so well including a couple of passes on the way - solid as expected from Redcar but problems for Kent - all in all a very watchable match in which the first 3 heats took over 30 minutes and we were left wondering whether time may run out but it all came right in the end -
King's Lynn v Ipswich 05/07/21

Hi there - Pressed the link that Badge provided and then the rectangular ‘search’ button and then ‘Kings Lynn v Ipswich race day preview’ - and that worked for me - I actually think this could well be a close competitive match and looking forward to it - -

I think you are correct Scoobydoo - 6500 new homes I seem to recall reading some 2 years ago starting in 2023 which would give us speedway for the rest of this season and all of 2022 - Can only hope the council have a change of heart - Too good a track to lose - I was thinking of moving there until I read that news - -

I wonder if as Gdańsk is Drew’s club in Poland would he have a bike or two already there and possibly Dan had to drive over with his equipment? - it does seem a strange one otherwise - perhaps someone in the know could take the time to expand on this - next week we will be without Tom and Drew who I think are on U21 call ups - and now minus Lewis it would seem - doesn’t seem right somehow - riding for your country at the expense of your club - best wishes to Lewis - -
Stefan not Leslie I presume!

Eastbourne are now posting that Nathan Ablitt will replace Drew Kemp at the Eddie Wright Raceway tomorrow - He’s a good young lad new into the Seagulls team who you should enjoy watching - not sure if he has practised there before. -

Is anyone aware who is replacing Drew Kemp whilst he, along with Anders Rowe and Dan Gilkes, are representing GB in the u19 pairs on Saturday? - On the Eastbourne website it is listed as TBA. Also they have him down as riding v Kent on Sunday whilst on the Kent website he and Dan Gilkes are listed as missing this meeting - somewhat confused am I -
A lot of people gave Poole more than a chance and the reason for that is the inactivity of a number of the home riders in competitive matches - The Eagle’s first match last Saturday was rained off as was their second at Kent last Tuesday - So going into yesterday’s match 4 of the team had not had a competitive match so far and could understandably be ring rusty (Richard Lawson, Eddie Kennett, Kyle Newman, and Jason Edwards) - Lewis Kerr had ridden in 2 Premier matches as had Tom Brennan and Drew Kemp - On the Poole side Danny King had 2 Premier matches as had Steve Worrall with Rory Schlein having one - I assume Danyon Hume and Stefan Nielsen have not been in competition this season but stand to be corrected if they have - And were the 2 young Aussies riding back home earlier on this year? - But this would have been their first visit to Arlington - I’m also led to believe that Eddie Kennett has a very young son and we all know how much that takes out of you - Eastbourne will improve a lot as the season progresses and along with Leicester, Glasgow, Redcar, and Poole will be up there battling it out - Don’t be hard on any rider at this stage of the season as they are all trying to get back in the swing and for some it will take longer than others - Be glad British speedway is up and running and enjoy the sport we all love -

That made me chuckle and also remember an old joke - what has got 100 legs and no teeth - the front row at a Cliff Richard concert

Belle Vue Aces 2020
BEATTHEBOOKIEBOB replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Made me go back in time to the fridays when I used to pop across London to Hackney speedway (In those days I was a Wimbledon fan and Thursday night was Plough Lane night) - I can remember when Belle Vue ( with Ivan at 1) were the visitors and Bengt Jansson, Hackney’s number one, got passed on either side at one of the bends by Peter Collins on one side and Chris Pusey on the other at the same time - It was one of those ‘WOW’ moments. I think Peter was one of the reserves at the time. I regret never having seen the racing at Hyde Road but although I still live in South London I do get up to the NSS when I can. Just a fantastic track. -
