Kings Lynn vs Ipswich Witches May 17th 7.30pm
DBP replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Belle vue charging £20 to stand up for what is in reality is a doubling up championship side with no big name riders. IMO not a good decision to increase prices -
Think the crowd levels will be low until the restrictions are further lifted on June 21 The majority of fans dont like or can't book online. I and quite a few of the people I stand with on the back straight will be waiting till June 21, I note the price for standing on the back straight (south stand) is now £20 Will watch the first match on Eurosport.

Extremely weak line up
-
Use to seeing proper heat leaders Crump, Moran's, Screenie, Lyons, Mauger, Sjosten the list is endless
-
Don't fancy paying premier league admission price to watch what at best is a championship side
-
looking quite possible that lockdown could last till the end of summer so there may be no UK racing for a second season. even the poles are saying they may be racing behind closed doors for the start of there season.

Even in 2019 there was not much difference between the the premiership and championship. Most teams had one top rider I wont call them stars the rest were all double up riders. If the season starts then once again there will be little difference between the league's and you can be sure promoters wont be shelling out big contracts so I think a lot of fans wont be happy paying a premium to watch premiership racing.

What's that got to do with running trial speedway meetings

Just seen on sky news website speedway added to list of sports for test events with some spectators in September Women's Super League game between West Ham and Arsenal plus a men's football friendly at Brighton are among a list of sporting events which will be able to welcome a limited number of spectators. The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has confirmed a raft of new events where spectators will be allowed in on a socially-distanced basis, following the ban on mass gatherings introduced in March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The events, which cover football, rugby union, horse racing, cricket, basketball and speedway, will take place over the rest of August and in September. The aim remains for spectators to be allowed back into sporting venues in limited numbers more widely from 1 October.
-
Bowling alleys opening from August, thats indoor venue much safer watching a speedway meeting outdoors Would be easy to keep a metre apart with the average crowd of around 1200 or less at most tracks

Freesport ch 64 freeview showing live match next Friday June 19 at 1700.
-
Its been reported that polish fans will be allowed in but at 25% capicity. Not for the first round of matches thats still behind closed doors but for the second round think its around 19th June
-
The Swedish league due to start in June will now start in July due to current corona virus restrictions banning mass gatherings. They cannot afford to race behind closed doors This means they will race in front of spectators.

Will British Speedway Survive ?
DBP replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
News from poland, no mass gatherings for the rest of the year. looks like racing behind closed doors without spectators June or July being mentioned and thats only if the TV company comes up with sufficient cash. So I can't see speedway in the UK starting this season. -

Seen that the polish top league clubs have all received 600,000 zlt around £120,000 as part payment from tv deal which is a good help. However they are still saying rider contracts will have to be renegotiated because their other income from local government and sponsorship from large companies is unlikely to be given, companies will no longer have the cash for speedway because of coronavirus and the same goes from local government. -
Coronavirus is not humourous and Bewley only changed his social media post after getting slated by fans of his polish club. What a lovely human being you are ( I'm just being humorous)
-
What a tosser you are, Bewley has a warped sense of humour if he thinks thousands of people dying of this virus is funny. There is a difference between having a sense of humour and saying coronavirus is a joke and irrelevant the laid back kid should grow up.
-
Just seen that Daniel Bewley thinks corona virus is a joke and that its not a major threat, he's winging that he's out of work, well millions of others are in the same boat. Just hope non of his relatives catch the virus he then might change his tune selfish little sod.

Will the premiership start on time?

Grand national and boat race off. So speedway has no chance roll on 2021 -

There will be no ambulance cover at any mass gatherings from tomorrow so no speedway. -
Things are changing daily who knows what the situation will be by next week, one thing for sure its likely to be worse than it is now. A lot of other sports are cancelling events well into May I can't see Speedway being the only sport thats still running. Scotland have banned events of over 500 spectators so whats happening with regards the Tigers and Monarchs?

British ice hockey league now cancelled, polish speedway due to start April 3 almost certain not to start, big doubts on the GP.
