  1. It's not all about average improves no but it is about average decreases too If witches had 3 x chris Harris' this season they would have suffered
  2. Only one I would keep is Allen, I'm concerned Heeps wont improve on this season risky on that average if you look overall rather than just home form, but I am sure at least Allen, King and Heeps will be back. 1. Cook 7.82 2. Heeps 6.37 3. Musielek 6.21 4. Covatti 5.72 5. King 6.83 6. Allen 5.56 7. Proctor? Would that fit with reductions? If you go a fresh route 1. Klindt 7.43 2. Allen 5.56 3. Schlein 6.65 4. Grajczonek 7.29 5. Musielek 6.21 6. Perks 7. Nicholls 5.50
  3. Yep but if you base your calculations of £25 a meeting for 15 heats its then not value for money. Everyone has to play their part for the longevity of the sport Riders riding 13 heats means less maintenance but slightly less earning capacity Promoters will save on a reduced 13 heat format, less wages to pay, if they can keep sponsorship the same amount etc. That helps keep clubs more financially healthy Fans can either pay more for the product or it is reduced slightly to the good old days of 13 heats and fans do their bit As for the original idea of the poster... Can't see why the premier league can't start in a cup/group format in April to May with the final in September with some league fixtures starting in May also Then the championship/NL can start late May until mid July with play offs end of July The Premiership then resumes Mid July til end of August with plays offs in September Would make it easier doubling up, fans of the PL clubs may go watch other clubs during the "summer break" when some of the international meetings are also on When the CL/NL is finished then these fans may boost attendances locally at PL tracks I dont think it works at present with 3 leagues all running at the same time
  4. Is it better value? What if they say "less is more so let's call it £25 to watch speedway" as it's only a dozen meetings people will pay it Or keep it £18 to watch 13 heats instead meaning less races, less cost for riders, less cost for promoters etc. Also with 13 heats do correct me if I am wrong but reserves only get 3 program rides? With a protected no.7 it would be better to do it this way British U23 with a certain average criteria so Lambert would not be at no.7
  5. 10 or 12 team league 13 Heat Format No.7 protected British U23 Home and Away once One Cup Competition Start April finish in August Play offs in September
  6. It's as simple as this If NKI can gate and lead a race which is then stopped then he can gate, lead and win the rerun, no excuses really So none of this "would have scored 14" he didn't score 14 and was poor but not the worst rider If that was a grand prix final and he had a world title on the line you'd expect him to jump out the start no matter how many restarts
  7. This team has obviously rode above themselves most of the season so their averages will reflect that for some anyway so based on current average I'd keep Allen NKI but doubt he wants it The rest I would let go
  8. Ellis Perks was class... Some Witches fans were an embarrassment Would only have Allen back from this years side on reflection tonight
  9. The play off final is what all the league racing is about, to have the ability to host a final on your own turf for your own local fans, the money maker grand final... Speedway is one sport that it would simply not work, the average demographic of a speedway fan wouldn't fancy a 2-3hr coach journey as by the time they are there the coach may as well park at the local A&E for all the seized joints that you would expect. The nations league is different as it's an international meeting, people are patriotic and would go support team GB in most events if local to them or if it's a sport you follow you're more likely to travel. Rugby attendances may be poor but they are good in relation to speedway, it's a sport that is more well known to a casual sporting fan than speedway, it's a sport that a fair % of non rugby fans would watch I.e. rugby world cup So if your local rugby team get to a final, day out at Wembley on a weekend and a few mates are going more will attend, most have also had the opportunity at some stage in life to "have a go" at rugby via school etc. Speedway is so far down compared to most sports I think classing speedway as a minority sport is even sometimes being generous, certainly not a professional one at least.
  10. And both clubs lose out having the final at home and miss out on revenue? Gotta be two legs
  11. Rather upsetting news to here that roger a life long fan passed away a few weeks back, has anyone heard this news or heard of any funeral arrangements?
  12. Obviously not but polish league vs British league totally different as you know It's like running a race against olympic sprinters or people with one leg
  13. Its always lighthearted I said C.Holder purely because Jack won't be at no.1 for very long I think however that with Chris in the team you will get the best out of Jack.
  14. With the average age of the Speedway Fan, how many extra bums on seats do these local derbies provide? Even with Ipswich vs Kings Lynn or Ipswich v Peterborough you might be lucky to get 30-50 bodies in If the rumour of a bit of money is true from Eurosport then Glasgow should go where the money is, and I am sure with their set up their sponsorship would have more value with being on TV.
  15. Think I went along the lines of this team on another post if i remember correctly 1. Iversen 2. Heeps 3. Schlein 4. Allen 5. King 6. Covatti 7. Etheridge
  16. I'm sure he will get one just that list was the realistic no.1 for the 8/9 clubs who might make up the prem next season I'm sure Batch will end up back at Swindon next year especially if Glasgow came up as Jensen would stay at Glasgow as they would pay more £££
  17. Just seen your side, looks a decent one I just think with 8/9 teams you'll find it hard to have two stand outs Doyle @Swindon Fricke @Belle Vue Iversen @ Ipswich Holder @Poole Bjerre @Peterboro Cook @ Glasgow Kurtz @ Somerset Lambert @ Kings Lynn Masters @ Wolves These should start as no.1s for their clubs if a bit of money is about from Eurosport then perhaps the likes of Milik, Michelsen, Zagar might be seen again I hear they want 10 teams in the top flight but if glasgow dont come up then maybe they'll run with 8 sides then Cook could end up at Lynn Personally I cant see a 10th club wanting to take the plunge but 10 clubs home and away once is 18 league meetings which is more than enough for the top flight
  18. Think Cook will be at Glasgow if they are the 8th team to come up with Somerset Alongside Jensen, Vissing and Starke plus 3
  19. Let's have a go at this one... 1. M. Fricke 8.81 2. S. Worrall 5.67 3. M. Zagar ??? 4. J. Lidsey 5.16 5. D. Bewley 6.31 6. J. Steward ??? 7. D. Ayres ??? Not sure how close that is to 42.5
  20. Had a go with everyone else so let's have a go here.... 1. R. Lambert 7.81 2. L. Kerr 5.57 3. E. Riss 6.61 4. T. Jorgensen 5.90 5. V. Milik 7.50? 6. N. B Jakobsen 4.48 7. J. Garrity 4.46
  21. Based on Buster not being in charge 1. K. Bjerre 7.75 2. H. Andersen 5.79 3. R. Tungate 6.59 4. K. Pieszcek 5.01 5. M. Michelsen 7.00 6. U. Ostegaard 4.94 7. B. Barker 5.42
