The better system would have been taking into consideration there are 12 Championship teams Grade C/D (1 & 2 star) - British Riders Only A list of riders who Championship clubs must select to ride at no.6 & no.7 with C grade at no.6 and D grade at no.7 Grade A/B (3 & 4 star) - Commonwealth Riders Only A list of riders who Championship clubs must select to ride in the main body of the team starting at No. 2 & No.4 Each club picks 1 x Grade A/B/C/D all set points money Clubs then have a team building limit for the remaining "heat leader" spots, Grade A & B can include Aussies that qualify to race over here with the 3 heat leaders its just an upgraded National League Based on 2021 season results riders can fluctuate between Grading if someone struggles as a 3 star rider they can drop to 2 star etc. But this is just me who think its just should be a Two League structure

Rowe replaced with Greaves or Shanes Kennett for someone else
-
Without seeing the averages I'll take an uneducated punt at 1. Crump 2. Heeps 3. Lawson 4. Kennett 5. King 6. Rowe 7. Kemp How much over is that?

I think an APP is a fantastic idea especially if going into schools etc. more chance of kids downloading stuff
-
say what you like about whoever is under what grading system but there are 58 riders that that clubs need to support as they are the future of British Speedway, enough riders there to fill over 8 complete sides.
-
Bewley and Kurtz both out of British Speedway
-
Is the individual series a GP version of the British Championship or just for the top 15 average riders who compete in the league with a track specialist wild card?

Kings Lynn Town charge around this and they are not even in the Conference League, Not really sure a comparison based on crowd figures is the right path, if thats the case than my amateur MMA promotion once was on par with most levels of Speedway where my attendances were 1,003 for around 3-4 years, if you want to use the Conference as a comparison then you should be seeing future or current international players playing in the Conference which you don't , okay British Speedway has lost Doyle but it still has riders who ride for their national teams competing and U21 and U19 championship riders, you don't get that in the conference I think (not the majority of fans) but some are a big issue in the fundamental problem with the sport in this country and should share the blame alongside the BSPA etc.

The sport certainly sounds doomed Some people willing to pay £20 to support the sport, some believing there should be a discounted entry for a watered down product, some not interested in regularly attending and some not wanting to attend at all. It's easy to comment here bemoaning club closures but then not supporting the sport means it will be lost for future generations. £20 for me is a decent price if it includes programme, you can take your own food and drinks to save money, some sports don't let you take your own in With speedway I think you cant look at it domestically just as a British League, in terms of domestic racing we are league one standard, with Sweden being championship and poland being premier league, you pay £18-£30 to watch League one football, and that certainly doesn't have the best players If British Speedway had all the stars and grew the sport from the Sky Sports deal realistically you should have been paying £40/50 a meeting but the promoters were offering a pricing structure that would not be sustainable without major TV and Spinsorship deals, but I presume some people probably thought £20 was too much to watch the superstars of Speedway The sport and its fans in this country share one common trait, everyone is stuck in the past! £20 is value for money for a 3rd rate sport but it does depend on what else you do if witches fans for example go regularly to Town games also then I can see that they may not have much disposable income left If they cant have fans in this season I've heard there may be streaming at £15 or something and I see replies saying they'd only pay £5 lol what about the streaming costs? Everyone has their part to play, the fans in 2021 & 2022 will make or break the sport in this country
-
I think some of these future stars are more than capable of beating the odd second string in a watered down league
-
What i don;t understand is that there are quite a few european riders who won't be riding in 2021 yet their clubs are all over social media saying they are using the same team or trying to, I don't think many at the BSPA actually spoke to their 2021 riders beforehand to see if most are coming back in 2021 There are going to be absolute bucket loads of team changes

Believe Seth is signed to MSS Kawasaki which is Colchester based to Crump riding for Ipswich fits in very well with all logistics

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2020
Falcon1983 replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
What is the scunthorpe team and average pre lockdown? -
Unless sponsorship dictates Crump in the side of course
-
Is he staying in Ipswich? He may have made it public saying he wants to honour his contract but does the club, or does Nicolai know he won't honour it and was trying to gloss over to look good to fans etc. Crump does look likely however on average but commercially perhaps sponsors have put more money into the club based on Crump riding, and does CL believe Crump will put more bums on seats at Foxhall, I am sure non Witches fans would travel at least once if they live local-ish just to watch Crump ride if their own side isn't running in the Premier League. It's going to be very interesting

Kemp will surely be one of the no.7 riders on a 4 or below I personally think they will replace Klindt, think the article in the Star was a little bit of a PR stunt
-
What were the riders averages before?
-
Yes I have seen that one Jason, think that is the meeting that stopped Coventry getting into the KO Cup Final or something like that, its just a shame that there is not much around from that Era as wanted to see more from his British league days
-
Where do you think he'll fit in, what average does he come in on?
-
Its ok he's alive and well... I've been spending this lockdown trying to find old footage of dad riding Now I have purchased some footage on DVD from rerun videos from his Exeter days and obviously there are alot of meeting I mostly remember his Exeter from around 1988 to 1992 when he then retired. I've been searching YouTube for footage from before then or from meetings I cant get on DVD I've found the 89 4TT at Peterborough which was broadcast on wheels, I've found a full meeting of Leicester vs Wolves and one race vs Coventry which stopped them reaching a KO Cup final If anyone knows how to obtain footage or knows anything please let me know, I doubt there would be any footage from his scunthorpe, ipswich or boston days but hoping there might be more Leicester ones potentially Maybe some lions fans on here can help out as I doubt there is any scunthorpe footage

Temporary Plan for 2021?
Falcon1983 replied to Falcon1983's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Great list I've counted at least 26 riders who possibly wont come to Britain to race with 6 of those 100% definitely not in the UK Leaves slim pickings If you go back to my theory you're literally asking teams at the AGM who wants to sit out 2021 but here is what we want to do in 2022 so plan early Whatever they decide they need to also have 2022 more or less sorted in terms of set up even if you pencil Swindon in and they dont return -
Temporary Plan for 2021?
Falcon1983 replied to Falcon1983's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I stand by what I have already said and that there are too many clubs for the sport to thrive of any sort in the UK I am not moaning saying that now their won't be enough teams, someone else said that all clubs could run if riders were allowed to double up/down but I am asking a question, if most of the aussie riders and euroepans can't compete in the UK in 2021 there will be be enough riders to fill every single club - so it goes back to my original post of having some form of British League racing with limited teams i.e. those who can run a 1-7 Just because Swindon and potentially Poole might follow suit, it doesn't mean the end to a 2021 season -

Falcon1983 replied to Falcon1983's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fair points but what if a lot of the Aussies and Europeans can't do the 2021 season so you're only left with predominantly British riders Do we allow every rider to triple up/down so that the premier, championship and national league run a league because if it gets to that stage there are only going to be enough riders for 8 or 9 clubs to run 7 man teams Even with 6 man teams it's not much better unless you then look at 4 or 5 rider teams -

I dont think it matters that the younger promoters are taking up the positions because they still have a voting system so the majority of people who vote are the same from previous years and not all but most are in it for themselves. For the sport to gain any sort of recognition in this country it needs less clubs competing it is that simply but over the next few years that will happen naturally
