You dont make it a full day, you make it worthwhile in terms of what you get for your money, so it could be that events are hosted two hours before the event starts Meet the riders, getting photo opportunities on bikes, signed photos etc. You could have a speedway workshop with an ex rider talking through what a speedway bike is, set ups, etc. Which for a new fan or a child would be quite interesting Maybe open the sport up to an onsite mobile betting company and have betting stations Meet and greet the pit girls Meet and greet legends of british speedway ex british champions Virtual reality speedway simulator Merchandise stands Speedway museum stands Probably more to add if you really think more into it For £15/20 you'll walk away thinking that was value for money

British Superbikes as a prime example, every championship is LIVE on Eurosport every round yet they still get huge crowds Why? Because potentially its more of a day out, its a one-off event for some that they see LIVE every year, its more of a spectacle To make Eurosport and a £20 entry work will mean having to present a program LIVE at the track that will make people want to come over watching at home on TV, most sports that are televised still generate a crowd, it would seem with league racing Speedway does not, so after all is the fan the problem for the sport? I used £20 as a ball park figure, it could be less, it could be more

I've said probably too many times now that the sport in the UK is for developing riders for Poland in the main then potentially Sweden, if you are a rider getting opportunities to ride in Polands top 2 divisions or in Sweden is a "goal" for all riders no matter what they say, its where the money is, its where progression is, so at the moment we are a training ground for many nationalities to learn their craft, improve their skillset and also go into the shop Window for Poland. However, how many make it? not many! and what happens when they do make it, most of the time British Speedway is then left behind as they can't commit to it, which is not a dig, its just what it is. So, what happens to the domestic riders who don't make it to Poland, how do they make the sport pay? which riders need to make the sport pay domestically? British Speedways main event of its own calendar should be a British Grand Prix style championship, I would call it the "British Super 12 Grand Prix Championship" why Super 12? because it will feature 12 riders across 12 rounds, two rounds per month starting April, May, June, July, August & September fitting domestic speedway into a calender that does not run before April and does not run after September. An example of the Super 12 Line Up could be Bewley, Wright, S. Worrall, R. Worrall, Cook, King, Lawson, Kerr, Nicholls, Harris, Ellis, Schlein - anyone who runs on a British Licence. Format is simple 12 heats with riders getting 4 rides (one ride from each gate) all points scored go into the overall standings table, top 4 from each round go into a "final" where there are no points added to the 12 heats scores but its called a "medal race" this gives us the overall winner of that GP round but also you have a separate medal table gold is 3pts, silver is 2pts, bronze is 1pt, the medal table is there to decide the overall winner in case of a tie, so for example if Cook and King end up after 12 rounds on 120 points each, the medal table comes into consideration to decide the overall winner, if the points are the same, its then who has most gold/silver/bronze finishes, if its identical then a race-off Add to this championship with a Under 23 Championship consisting of just 8 riders, the line up could be Bickley, Brennan, Rowe, Flint, Kemp, Palin, Jenkins, Thompson purely as an example, they do as the main series but race over 8 heats then a final. £20.00 entry for 20 heats which include the two-finals Use the Eurosport contract to have every round "LIVE" A series sponsor Riders should be able to get decent sponsorship based on the guaranteed airtime over the 12 rounds on Eurosport and if the presentation was correct they could get a lot of coverage, riders can enter under "team names" similar to say British Superbikes, so say for Danny King if he's sponsored by Tru Plant he is entered under "Tru Plant Jawa" etc. more coverage for the brand, should be used in commentary etc. This kind of Championship and the whole winner-takes-all promotion is what people need to see in British Speedway, I believe this would engage new fans better, perhaps make people want to try speedway in terms of spectating at a one-off local event but if that venue then can promote their league racing we may capture new fans, its all about data capture and using it to promote speedway to new and existing people League racing can still be a thing, I would only have two leagues which is similar to what Bowen has said above, I would revert to the old British League and National League format, I would say 10 team leagues in both, riding home & away once with a cup competition included to give more meetings, the British league is for any nationality to race, the National league are for commonwealth riders only, British League built to Championship standard now and National League being slightly stronger maybe then it is now. Would like to see the BSPL set up a subscription style streaming service, priced at £6.99 per month for a 12 month subscription so £83.88 per year, if they can get say 200 fans from the 20 clubs plus pick up 200 fans from abroad who follow certain riders that would be 4,200 subscribers with a yearly revenue of £352.296.00 As part of the subscription package you receive * 2 x British League or Cup Matches per month * 2 x National League or Cup Matches per month * 4 x Classic Speedway Meetings per month * National League Riders Championship * British League Cup Final both legs * National League Cup Final both legs * Downloadable Content including rider insights, rider interviews, behind the scenes, interviews with promotors etc. * Mini Documentary series profiling ex riders, 60 minute long programs On top of this there can be scheduled events which are then Pay Per View events * British League Riders Championship * 5 Round Commonwealth Championship series featuring riders who commit to racing in the UK potential line up Kurtz, Bewley, Wright, Worrall, Lawson, Batchelor, Ellis, Crump, Cook, King, Allen, Nicholls, Masters, Schlein, Morris, Harris. * 3 Round Inter-Continental Championship series again featuring riders who commit to the UK potential line up Kurtz, Bewley, Crump, Cook, Jorgensen, Riss, Andersen, Batchelor, Ellis, Masters, Palm Toft, Becker, Klindt, King, Schlein, Pedersen This gives a bit of everything for everybody, National League will see the top 3 riders in current championship not doubling down into it as they will just ride British League, then the european and american riders can only race in the British League, with the National League made up of British & Commonwealth riders. National League is more semi-pro in terms of money, British League is just one professional league. The goal for any domestic rider is to make Poland and the GP series but the British Super 12 Grand Prix Series is there for those that need to make racing pay domestically who are either not ready to make the jump to Poland or those who never will - it gives riders other goals Less meetings I know league wise for foreign riders coming to the UK, I am talking about the top end ones as it will likely be 18-22 league/cup meetings however opening up other series such as the commonwealth and inter continental series, with some good prize money makes up for the short fall in league racing. Just a few thoughts really

Dont think banter is a thing anymore we live in a society where everyone is offended, take away the vile stuff across social media, people still can't take any form of humour During the euros a lady friend on facebook (After England beat Denmark) was posting about the Danish keeper who plays for Leicester so she is obviously a supporter of Leicester, how she felt sorry for him etc despite him knocking England before the game,a few of her mates made this point clear and when she asked what else can she talk about I asked "what is your top 5 recommended cleaning products" knowing she knows my juvenile nature yet the absolute venom I had back from herself never mind her friends was eye boggling lol even with as many laughing emojis to make it obvious people just are boring as watching Lynn (at present).

You'd be right if it was another sport However 20 years ago the fans saying it were maybe 40 years old, today they are 60, and in 20 years time they will be 80 (those who make it) and 20 years from then they'll be 100 and most if not all will be dead It's not an even spread when you look at the average crowd, you'll get a sprinkle of youth some who will outgrow the sport a few who will be die hards but there will not be enough of them in 20/40 years time so 100% this sport is on it's way out in the future, the BSPL should be about preserving the sport for future generations but unfortunately it will be completely lost Unless, the sport can rely on huge TV investment and also that of local councils -
And quite possibly crump could of had one ride, struggled and then replaced by reserves for the rest of the meeting, who knows until Plymouth next race

Think I have said it until I am blue in the face, but the "main event" of British Speedway should be a British Grand Prix Championship rather than the one-off British Final Use this event for Eurosport, have it sponsored, decent prize money, see if Eurosport could change the TV slot to other days i.e. weekends perhaps Most riders domestically are aiming for Poland, realistically not many will get there, if they do only a few make it pay, so why not have a British Championship for British Riders that is the pinnacle of British Racing and offers the prize money that will get people racing Speedway, should over a number of years (with the correct investment in youth speedway with a clear path to Semi Professional & Professional racing) increase the number of British riders coming through the system League Racing should be 2 leagues (British & National) -

This is where everyone has a different idea but if all the best parts were taken from all ideas then there could be something to look at.... For me the main event of British Speedway should be a "British Speedway Grand Prix Championship" The idea is to give British riders a reason to take up the sport as not everyone will reach the heights of World Grand Prix level or Poland. So the British Grand Prix Series take place over say 12 rounds, these are the events that should be on Eurosport. Looking for a series sponsor which would be easier to find for a British Championship as opposed to a league championship, say someone like Vanarama £50k plus a Van Overall winner could take home £30k cheque and a brand new Van 2nd place can be £15k with 3rd place taking £5k I would call it the "Super 12 Grand Prix" as its 12 rounds but also only have 12 riders in it, so from riders here and now I would say 1. Dan Bewley 2. Charles Wright 3. Steve Worrall 4. Danny King 5. Richard Lawson 6. Craig Cook 7. Chris Harris 8. Scott Nicholls 9. Adam Ellis 10. Kyle Howarth 11. Richie Worrall 12. Lewis Kerr 12 race format with riders getting a race from Gates 1-4, top 4 riders into a Final at each round, for "Medal Points" overall champion is decided by total standard race points accumulated with a bonus "medals points table" so Bewley and Wright could finish on 120 points each for their 4 programme races across 12 rounds but the "medals points" table then counts on their overall total so medal points is for each final at each round, Gold is 3 points, Silver is 2 points, Bronze is 1 point. Over the 12 rounds prize money is distributed via ticket sales say 1000 spectators at £20 so £20,000 prize per round, any ticket sales over 1000 is host venue to keep £6k winner, £4k runner up, £2k 3rd place with the £8k distributed between the other 9 riders. Riders with guaranteed 12 meetings on Eurosport LIVE should get decent sponsorship revenue. £50k of Eurosport money should go towards developing riders for the future £50k should go towards promoting the British Grand Prix Championship and other marketing As part of this you have a "Rising Stars Championship" for riders under 23 who are not racing in the top flight Polish league and not at heat leader status in the Top British League so for now you would have a field consisting of 1. Anders Rowe 2. Tom Brennan 3. Kyle Bickley 4. Leon Flint 5. Drew Kemp 6. James Shanes 7. Connor Bailey 8. Jack Smith (not sure if any are over 23) These race as part of the programme, their championship is over 8 heats top 4 into the final. so overall you get a "British Super '12' Speedway Grand Prix Series" consisting of 12 races + 1 final, incorporated into this you get a "British Super 8 Rising Star Grand Prix Series" consisting of 8 races + 1 final so 22 races. League racing should then be a 10 team British League built to Championship strength now, riding home and away once then play offs with a Cup competition, then a 12 team National League built to what Championship strength is now but you replace the top average rider with a rising star so it's a weaker league racing home and away once with play offs and a cup competition League meetings can be 15 heats as now, cup meetings can be the old 13 heat format to add variety The BSPL to set up a league channel similar to a Netflix, say £6.99 per month you get live meetings from British and National League say 6-8 meetings per month, British & National League Riders Championship, England test matches vs Germany/Sweden/Poland/Latvia etc. plus old reruns of classic matches, interviews, behind the scenes, documentaries etc. Enough content to make is a 12 month subscription and VFM if the 22 league clubs had say 200 subscribers each that's 22 × 200 x £6.99 x 12 months = £369,072 revenue I'm going with a less is more theory with the aim of ensuring clubs get bums on seats and only have the individual series on TV to benefit British riders, and to benefit clubs and promoters people will have to buy tickets to actually see it, not on TV only every now and again on the Speedway GB Channel As league racing is minimal I would even look at doing PPV extras on the channel maybe doing a 3 round Commenwealth Championship and/or a 3 round Inter-Continental Championship which rewards some of the foreign lads that are dedicated to British Speedway make the PPV £9.99 restricted to a 50mile radius from the host venue and use some of the revenue from the Channel as prize money Commonwealth Championship could consist of 1. Brady Kurtz (Australia) 2. Charles Wright (UK) 3. Dan Bewley (UK) 4. Jason Crump (Australia) 5. Danny King (UK) 6. Jake Allen (Australia) 7. Bradley Wilson-Dean (New Zealand) 8. Craig Cook (UK) 9. Troy Batchelor (Australia) 10. Jack Holder (Australia) 11. Adam Ellis (UK) 12. Rory Schlein (UK) 13. Sam Masters (Australia) 14. Chris Harris (UK) 15. Scott Nicholls (UK) 16. Nick Morris (Australia) an Inter-Continental Championship could consist of 1. Luke Becker (USA) 2. Craig Cook (UK) 3. Brady Kurtz (Australia) 4. Eric Riss (Germany) 5. Jason Crump (Australia) 6. Bjarne Pedersen (Denmark) 7. Troy Batchelor (Australia) 8. Thomas Jorgensen (Denmark) 9. Jack Holder (Australia) 10. Dan Bewley (UK) 11. Broc Nicol (USA) 12. Adam Ellis (UK) 13. Michael Palm-Toft (Denmark) 14. Sam Masters (Australia) 15. Charles Wright (UK) 16. Danny King (UK) If these meetings had a decent level of prize money on offer, its rewarding riders who commit to British Speedway, gives them an incentive to take home some good prize money at the end of the season, looking at that list where are the Swedes? should be more Danes, could tempt some riders over.

I've started my own grass roots Sunday football league side www.youtube.com/realsuffolkfc any subscribers welcome, first of all it is a very long process but SE Dons is the level to be at, I think the Dons have done well in terms of having a platform to launch from as Don Strapzy one of the key figures behind it had a following in the grime scene, but they have certainly built up a good reputation across social media they have fans in Brazil that buy their shirts etc, to be honest at the moment I am working on setting up a friendly with them in 2022 however they have and quite rightly built up the rights to dictate how this happens, so i have to cover travel, food and drinks etc. for their whole team YouTube now alongside Facebook and Insta allow for mini videos to be played as mini adverts this is where British Speedway should look to do, big passes, crashes etc. promote on social media to younger people, make them think WOW and get the shares, likes, views up even some subscriptions to the channels and social media links, then its captured more numbers to market meetings to I think domestic Speedway in all honestly would work better having a Grand Prix Style British Championship say over 7 rounds, and market this as the main event, the big event to get people to attend and watch potentially as their first meeting, if marketed correctly you will find people are interested or may be interested in a big event in their local area as opposed to something that is more regular, for example if there was a World or British round of Motocross locally people would be engaged as its a "world or british championship round" sounds like a one-off opportunity to watch, once they are there, league racing can be promoted by the host venue etc.

Is there something in the rules to stop in the same heat. 1. Nominating a rider for an R/R ride 2. Also making a tactical substitute for the other rider Are you only allowed to do one in the same heat?

when do Bet 365 update? Been looking all day for tonights meetings

Streaming isnt a zero cost thing, there are set up costs, if streaming was to be done correctly it should be by the BSPA not individual clubs. Shame a few witches fans stayed behind to watch the kings Lynn victory lap (on foot) only to boo

I'd take Kennet, Barker, Wilson-Dean Jakobsen when he was at Rye House used to go well at Foxhall then I think (could be wrong) his most recent visits haven't been great plus he's not UK based no? So I'd take one of the top 3 let Cookie guest for Crumpet til he is fit
-
What would Kennet be on?
-
could they not look at something like this, now could be way off as I cannot seem to find the team building points limit anywhere ha 1 . Crump 8.00 (Replaced by Cook for 28 days 7.59) 2. Heeps 6.17 3. 4. Allen 5.70 5. King 6.85 6. Rowe 3.00 7. Kemp 3* not sure who can fill that gap? What is left 5.78? or more? If so would any of these fit, Jakobsen, Wells, Pickering, Starke, Barker, Wethers, Auty? Not many option if any of these fit anyway

BIRMINGHAM v REDCAR WEDS JUNE 2ND
Falcon1983 replied to Speedway fan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This is where for me speedway needs an independent body running the sport. Birmingham should be fined for delaying the start of the meeting, they had ample time to get the track prepared but failed to do so. The official reason for abandoning the meeting is lack of medical cover and a 10pm curfue?, so what happens if you have a 4 rider first bend smash where all 4 riders are in need of urgent treatment and all have life threatening injuries? Most if not all clubs have one st johns ambulance if I'm correct, that is the first change that needs to be made, more medical cover yes it's a cost but you can't have a professional sport running with minimal medical cover It should be a fine to the brummies for a late start, give clubs say 15 minutes maximum to start later than advertised. Lack of medical cover should also be a fine, after the first fine then it should be points docked. I used to run events (different sport) it was notorious for not always starting on time maybe by 10-15 minutes but as said in here the paying public are who matter most, our punters accepted it as its 10-15 minute once it becomes 20-30 or more its unacceptable We would have a st John's ambulance plus at an additional cost a professional medical team with what is called an "ambulance car" so any injuries would be assessed by either medics, if it was a non serious injury the person would go to hospital in the ambulance car, if it was a serious injury they would go in the ambulance, with two sets of medics there, at least there would always be one on site to keep the event running, if another competitor required hospitalization with only one medic on site they would be treated while awaiting for an ambulance Lack of medical cover in Speedway literally just means the promotion has paid as little as possible to cover the meeting, there is no cost for potentially 1. Saving lives 2. Keeping the meeting running -
