When omitted from Kings Lynn his average fell to 5.10 a big drop from 6.30 at the start with Ipswich His average to start the Season with Kent was 7.42 Latest declaration sees Heeps on 5.38 with Kent which is a big fall Think he will be in demand more in the CL if there is such a thing
-
looking at the averages Witches Started with Crump 8.00 Klindt 7.43 King 6.66 Heeps 6.30 Stewart 4.00 Rowe 3.00 Kemp 3.00* Allen came in on a 5.56 to replace Klindt so Witches already lost 1.87 straight off Looking at the numbers from the last declaration Crump 5.54 (a loss of 2.46) Cook 7.23 (a loss of 0.36 having joined on a 7.59) King 7.46 (an increase of 0.80) Allen 4.88 (a loss of 0.68) Starke 4.85 (an increase of 0.58 having joined on a 4.27) Rowe 4.84 (an increase of 1.84 on his accessed average, although he had a season high average of 5.49 so could argue a loss) I think as Chris Louis said last night, the gamble with Crumpy failed, taking the injury aside, would it be any different? I think maybe an averge of 6/6.5 but still a huge drop from a starting average of 8.00, the loss of Klindt was a big loss perhaps the biggest loss of all, then you have 3 riders left 2 of which featured heavily at reserve at one stage and benefited but didn't within the main body of the team, and one rider who was left in the main body of the team who could of benefited from being at reserve for a while. Unfortunately none of us really see what goes on behind the scenes to understand who what when and why If its the same regs next season (probably won't be) i'd like to see the following Danny King Sam Jensen Hans Andersen Jason Crump Nicolai Klindt Jake Allen Anders Rowe R/S or if a drop down to the Championship something like Danny King Adam Ellis Jason Crump these 3 as a heat leader trio maybe a Tom Brennan plus a new foreigner such as Matthew Gilmore or Mads Hansen two from Drew Kemp / Dan Thompson / Jordan Jenkins for the reserve sports

A few riders are on keen averages now though, I wouldn't be surprised if 3 or 4 from this year are in next Who is part of the golfing team?

Lol

Maybe Cook just told the club he has personal issues to deal with, the club ran with the mental health story only to be told later it was family related Just sounds like poor communication between rider and club to establish the facts before being made public
-
To cause a distraction... Looking at next season what if Crumpy only rides in the championship with Plymouth and leaves the top level racing, and throws his hat into managing the Witches? Would people like to see it?
-
I believe I've heard that theyve signed a long term deal and it will be aired across their network all of the speedway grand prix and other major events in speedway
-
Eurosport have the GPs
-
Buster has stated he will only sell to the right people so he will maybe have both clubs still next season if he sells one he is best offloading Peterborough and keeping the stars Team Building is difficult because nobody knows the rules for next season, I very much doubt we'll see a premier league as nobody wants to move up to pay more points money If it's as it is this year maybe something like 1. Thorsell 2. Kerr 3. Palm-Toft 4. Jorgensen 5. Lawson 6. Anderson 7. Mountain

There would have to be some kind of fair conversion from PL to CL most riders have an average in both, some don't so I would do a fair PL * 1.2 and go with the lowest average so if the PL *1.2 is lower than the riders current CL average go with the lowest but have a max average cap of 10.00 and any new riders come in on a 6.00 from overseas, just thrown these teams together some may be under say a 45pt limit some may we over but just a general idea of what the British League could look like IF the only professional league. its not the death but a potential rebirth? Next Season British League (Ran to Championship level this season) Belle Vue Ipswich Sheffield Wolverhampton Glasgow Kent Poole Kings Lynn Peterborough National League (Stronger than this years points limit) Mildenhall Berwick Birmingham Eastbourne Edinburgh Newcastle Plymouth Redcar Scunthorpe Leicester Just because clubs are struggling now in the CL doesn't mean they can't prosper in the NL, take Eastbourne for example -

48-42 to Wolves -
The only way to push team riding would be to change the points system to 4-3-2-0 but then in most heats you'll see riders settle for 2nd and 3rd, and I want to see racing, maybe this format could be used in development league racing only so educate and encourage team riding from a young age

Could Speedway Follow British Superbikes?
Falcon1983 replied to Falcon1983's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yes I thought that and also how any pits area could handle that amount of bikes plus for a day of that duration there has to be other things that people can do to kill a little bit of time between races etc. -
Could Speedway Follow British Superbikes?
Falcon1983 posted a topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Just a question I asked myself this morning, certainly not replacing "League" Racing but either to run alongside it or potentially if league racing disppeared So the "British" Superbike Championship does feature riders from lots of different nationalities but it is raced in the UK. It comprises of 2-3 days worth of action due to practice, Qualifying etc. however that is because it allows all competitors on track at the same time for racing where Speedway is different... So would people pay £25/£30 for a days of Speedway action say an 8/10/12 round series on a Saturday? it could feature 8 Rider - British 125cc Championship (8 races plus a Final) 8 Rider - British 250cc Championship (8 races plus a Final) 12 Rider - British U23 500cc Championship (12 races plus a Final) 8 Team - British Speedway Sidecar Championship (8 races plus a Final) 12 Rider - British 450cc Open Championship (12 races plus a Final) featuring the great late Peter Seaton's idea of 450cc MotoX engines in Speedway Chasis so guys running Honda, Kawasaki etc. 16 Rider - British Speedway Championship (20 races plus 2 semi & Final) If Racing Started at 2pm, gates open from 11.30am practice sessions for each championship from 12pm until 1.30pm Could something like this work? -
There is a whole host of different reasons why someone might watch Speedway but not view it For example I watch MotoGP but I am not motivated to watch it LIVE really, I watch BSB on and off now but used to be part of the paddock there. I watch Premier League Football games that involve the club I support and clubs I don't support but the costs of watching my club weekly is something that I cannot afford to do, so people will watch Speedway on TV as they have paid for their subscription, they would not necessarily pay for their TV and then watch live I watch Darts on/off on occasion but never really would go and watch it live This is what Barry Hearn said about Speedway “It doesn’t necessarily need a Barry Hearn, what it needs is someone with my ethics. They have to be passionate about the sport but they have to be business minded. They have to be realistic and they have to graft their nuts off… in those days they were getting good crowds, big crowds at speedway, and I don’t know why the sport is in the demise it currently is. Somewhere along the line, they made a wrong move or didn’t maximise or maybe got complacent. It was easy but now we see a sport that looks to be <sigh> I won’t say it’s terminal decline because they’ll always be hard core pockets of resistance. But would you wanna be a speedway rider? And put your life on the line at all those speeds for nothing? Or for very little? They were household names thirty years ago, famous people, and big crowds at Belle Vue and places like that. People still talk about it and probably because some of the premises are slightly in decline as well they’ve not offered the level of entertainment value today’s consumer wants. And when you couple that all together. Whereas, if something is going higher and higher, it’s quite easy to ride the coattails but it actually works the other way round, it’s really difficult to stop the decline.” Hearn continues, “motorsports is massive….[so] where did it all go wrong?….the Blazers, while they love the sport, are just not the businessmen of today. If you don’t treat it like a business that’s fine you will still have people who absolutely love it. What’s not fine [is] if that passion is not shared or is not delivered in a package that’s acceptable to today’s consumer [then] that passion is wasted cos you’ll get nowhere…better people than me would have to do market research to say ‘is this a reasonable proposition? Or, are wasting our time?’ It’s a hard decision to take but you either invest or work to take it forward or you give up. What you don’t do is just sit there in a slowly declining market because it’s boring” https://www.methanolpress.com/best-worst-speedway-grand-prix-television-viewing-figures-by-year-from-1999-to-2018-plus-average-viewing-figures/

The season started late this year did it not? So could be the reason less meeting have been put on plus there were more teams when the deal was agreed so already there are less fixtures
-
The Championship will not feature on Eurosports coverage of British Speedway, time to move on. It is a few league meetings, the Play Offs and the British Final that is all that is in the contract.

The BBC's global reach increased by 11% year on year in 2020 to 468.2m people a week - the highest number ever. BBC News accounts for 438.4m of the total with an annual increase of 13%. Digital platforms are key to the success, with an increase of 53% in BBC News users. 59% ITV reaches 35.9m Individuals a week, that's 59% of TV viewers. 899 ITV showed 899 of the top 1000 commercial audiences in 2020. Eurosport had 157 million subscribers for the year 2019, marking no increase from the previous year. The Eurosport 2 channel had an audience of 87 million viewers in 2019, an increase in size of one million. Eurosport comes free on some packages including digi boxes etc. The APP or Eurosport IPlayer whatever you want to call it you have to pay for it yes but the overall reach for Eurosport is huge especially not they are part of the discovery network If you are looking to ITV for example then the only way they would ever show it would be ITV4 not their main channel

Eurosport reaches more homes than ITV...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but as for 2022 who knows as the talk was 2 rising stars at Reserve next season Could Witches still run with Kemp and Rowe as the latter is on the rising star list? Without knowing what is what the first thing they need to do is identify a number one and secure him ASAP
