There will be other mini league competitions A 4TT league every track hosts a round A Premiership Best Pairs Championship where clubs will host a round each Plus a Premier League riders championship again every club hosting a round Potential for a league cup competition 2 groups of 3 home and away once each group winner into a final
-
Rising star programme probably stopped as you'll see a good dozen or so youngsters heading off to Poland for the U23 league
-
same riders will be on the rising star list as long as they are still old enough or share the same birthday as Josh Bates
-
I'll back it up, its almost 2 points below the team building average and that is before any british reductions if thats still a thing. Too many risks in that side, Starke is not going to improve and really only done well last season when at Reserve, Rowe the same he can improve though but only really done well at reserve then got injured so do expect more, Heeps you don't know what you're getting and is a huge risk based on not only his prem form last season but his championship form, if his championship average was high then its less of a risk but he plummetted badly last season, so straight away you have 3 riders there who would benefit from being at reserve alongside kemp. Then you have Riss, yes he apparantly had personal issues last season which will affect anyone but his prem form was alarming however his championship form was fairly decent so less of a risk but still a part risk alongside another 3 risks, then add into that the home form of Drew who does make up for it on away tracks, you could end up with the top two scoring double figures and which ever rider is at 6/7 alongside drew then minimal scores from the other 4 The team I posted on the Witches forum today is what I would like to see Doyle Rowe Musielak Crump King Basso Kemp 3 proper heat leaders at this level, one that can improve his starting average, two who should be able to maintain theirs. Backed up by an experienced Jason Crump riding at 4, whom if could get fit for the new season could improve, I would expect Jason to average 6/6.5 at most meetings! Then you have 3 young guns in Rowe, Basso, Kemp... where you would see Basso/Rowe most likely alternate at the reserve berth throughout the season going back to the other team at the top, with taking risks, when you have to then change the line up further down the line most of the low-risk options have already been taken by other clubs

well apart from race nights if you're not a Mon/Thurs club its madness to want to move up
-
reading that back more than once makes me feel ill
-
doesn't even need an explanation, love it! coz the reality is, why would anyone move up!
-
I think the championship model is not perfect but as close to manageable as anything else for UK Speedway Ideally what the championship is now should be what the premiership is maybe with two rising stars per side
-
Can anyone see Glasgow, Berwick and Edinburgh moving up as a collective? If Courtney is involved in both Oxford/Berwick but they wont let Oxford in the prem, makes sense to move the other up probably not financially tho When will the BSPL let everyone know what's going on lol
-
Doyle, Crump, Musielek, Covatti, King, Kemp, Jenkins I'd be alright with that but Heeps will be in lol
-
I'd take Basso, King, Kemp & Cook Maybe Musielek, Chris Holder plus 1
-
It sure does but British Superbikes does as well but still shown on ITV4 or at least it was, same with football shown across multiple platforms as well as streamed on Amazon Prime As long as the Eurosport deal for meetings is not touched then it should be am option Personally I think the stream channel wins long term and you can bring more revenue into the sport. I'd pay £6.99 and would happily pay £11.95 to watch selected meetings, I would say one or two meetings per month I'd pay the extra as I would normally go to Foxhall so that's £100 spent on Speedway
-
I've suggested before that the streaming service should come from the BSPL and call it SGBTV A monthly subscription say £6.99 if 200 fans per club subscribed it could generate over £268k It could have stuff like 1 x premiership meeting 3 x championship meetings Replays of old classic meetings Rider interviews Rider Documentaries Technical Insights You either watch live or download the add ons like interviews, for £6.99 that's a good offering If you dont want to subscribe one off live meetings could cost £11.95 Meetings like the British Final, Cup Finals etc could be a one off PPV of £9.99 or similar

Or put a twist on it Say an 8 team championship A League Cup 2 groups of 4 home and away once (6 meetings, 3 home) top two into semi finals League home and away once (14 meetings, 7 home) Top 4 enter the "Super League" the new name for the play offs, all compete against each other (6 meetings, 3 at home) overall winner is the champion Bottom 4 clubs enter "the shield" competition 2 legged knock out so a maximum of 4 meetings (two home) if you reach the final Could also introduce the 4TT but do it on a league basis for more meetings against regional at best 2 groups of 4, all clubs hosting a meeting top 2 progressing to a Final 4TT league all clubs hosting a meeting -

You really need Oxford to come to the tapes and have an 8 team Top Flight and an 8+ team 2nd tier nobody wants to move up, maybe that suggests the way the championship is the way forward. Perhaps the top division should be a bit between prem/champ and the 2nd tier could be a bit between champ/ndl -
Sounds interesting! I'd certainly be happy with something like Doyle, Covatti, Cook, Basso, King, Kemp, Jenkins. Or swap Cook for Musielak Heeps will likely be in there somewhere as we all know....
-
Is there a link to speedway signings across all leagues or something If Klindt is in the Polish top flight that just makes things more difficult. Wouldn't mind seeing Covatti back in Witches colours, also when you look around at the types of Bangs and Hansen etc not doing the UK I'd love to see Benjamin Basso Not long now til the fat lady sings and we know what is what
-
It won't include Mads Hansen, he is taking the same route as the Hallstrom-Bangs I would imagine King, Klindt, Cook, Kemp plus 3, if its two rising stars then Jenkins maybe alongside Kemp

Oxford Cheetahs 2022
Falcon1983 replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Also comes down to the ego of the landlord also does he want his track in the top flight on TV? Could be suicidal of course I still think Friday night championship racing will be the outcome -
Maybe Ford has asked them to mention it because they want to make a huge deal out of moving back up in a proper press release announcing Ellis & Kurtz as their first two signings Also would you announce it if you were riding in two finals? Riders might think well I wont get a place in the prem side and that could affect their upcoming performances Similar to when teams in football suddenly fall away from a play off place, possibly because the playing squad are comfortable there and if they go up they might get shipped out Pure speculation of course

Difference is this time the owner is in charge and will employ a promoter looks like Courtney to run the speedway operations. So if run by the owner no rent to pay in reality, would earn from bar/food takings etc. They have a good basis to build from but I'm pretty sure they will run in the prem on a Friday -

yes Swindon to potentially make it 8 or 9 teams when they return in 2022 It's quite plausible that whoever moves up might have some form of carrot dangled in front of them to move away from any race night they currently run in but go back to my first reply, several weeks ago it was 2 other clubs, now its 2 other clubs, but the Poole one is the strongest of the lot, but if they allow them to run Wednesdays, what is to stop other clubs running whenever they wanted to as well **edit** IF swindon return in 2022 not WHEN, IF IF IF -

I think 6 weeks ago or more I was hearing Plymouth/Kent were looking to move up Now I have heard the Lions rumour too and the Poole rumour is allegedly stronger than ever (with special dispensation to race on Wednesday nights at home). Premiership Belle Vue Ipswich Kings Lynn Peterborough Sheffield Wolves Leicester and/or Poole Championship Berwick Edinburgh Glasgow Kent Newcastle Plymouth Redcar Scunthorpe Oxford potential at least for a 7 side Prem with a view to Swindon making it 8 possibly 9 if Poole do go up. Championship a 9 team division possibly 10 if one of Lions/Poole do not go up then question marks over Birmingham, Eastbourne If Leicester go up then the next rumour that goes with that is that they will cease the Leicester Cubs side in the NDL NDL would leave Mildenhall, Armadale, Colts, Bullets, Royals, Mildenhall and possibly Brum/Eastie -
not 100% sure but think someone has mooted first week of November
