That's the future of UK speedway sorted then, the rest drop down to save 30% and then half a dozen or more drop down to make the national league like the old British and National league days
-
Nicely put together that, lets hope the next couple of meetings are more promising....

Wolves v Belle Vue League Cup 18th April 2022

44-46 no wait Lemon is manager 56-34 -
I've heard from only one or two people but there is interest from a third party to get involved in british speedway that will help attract some riders back but the BSPL are not keen as this stage

With the way the track was early doors, Hawkins just needed to get the riders together and fire a rocket up them "I want to see every rider fight for that first corner, elbows out" I think with what I saw when I moved to view from the home straight grandstand, ritchie comes across as a bit of a fan boy to some riders but he is a promoter now or director so he is here to stay Just gotta hope it improves over the next couple of meetings, Riss looks like he will be ok, King should come good although may drop his average slightly over the course of the season I have a feeling batch will be okay I just fear the heeps/starke factor, and that is I dont think Starke will offer much other than at 6, and if cameron drops to 6 I dont think he will score as much as Starke can potentially The exact issue Peterborough dont have as they have 6 riders who will score points and kings Lynn to a lesser extent are the same I think Ipswich are on par with Wolves right now, Belle Vue will sort of the same with either Blodorn or Etheridge in the main body though they'll soon have a quartet of Fricke, Zagar, Wright and Kurtz and arguably one of the top rising stars... so what they lack at 6 if Etheridge drops there they make up with Brennan Rowe should come good over the next couple of meetings, if not they need to decide when Danyon gets an opportunity as Hawkins has already said he is happy to tinker It could still work or it may backfire taking risks on riders on low averages who have not performed in the previous year, if so the lesson is take a risk with a rider potentially on a false low average who I.e. Basso/Musielak

Apart from any TV work is this chris dole income? If so its budgeted that way where as other promoters may have other income or their track takes additional income I.e. food and drink, I could be wrong but sure I read a few years back it's his sole income. I just hope if this season ends up like last time they give it a go in a different direction or drop down We've cried out for a number 1 now they have one it's looking like we're a little lost further down Basso & Musielak must have been possible this year based on purely financials, witches must be able to offer similar to other clubs but is it a case of its Doyle or bust I'll give it til June when someone starts Ipswich Witches 2023 lol

The only way they can set up in my opinion is how they were set up last night Riss or Batch at no.2 would leave Heeps at 3 or 4 and that's not the way forward As someone mentioned in another thread if they had retained Cook as an example You could swap Cook and King at 3 & 5 Cook, Riss or Batch could ride at 2 I see alot of fans getting stick for comments made after one meeting buts this is a rollover from last season and the paying punter can have a voice

Personally I think it should have been neither of them in the side but i said before the season started I'd give then 4 to 6 meetings and see where they are at. You look at other teams and you see the crowds you get at Foxhall, they are quite consistent it baffles me if riders like Basso & Musielak are available to ride the UK why were they not on the shopping list Why dont they do an individual meeting or a challenge to give riders track time before the season? It just seems that despite a strong home attendance it's a low budget affair just to be amongst the numbers rather to mount a challenge If that was true then drop down to the championship but then that would ruin the top flight and with chris being a director that's a conflict right there I feel sorry for Chris really -

I think the witches could scrape into the play offs but it depends how poor the other sides will be, not how good the witches could become Starkey gets plaudits for scoring from reserve but he will struggle in the main body of the side, and that's the problem they have two riders who need to be at reserve stark and Heeps Peterborough have 6 riders who will all score points in the main body -

Oxford v Scunthorpe 13.04.22
Falcon1983 replied to Hilly's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
100% can't allow public into other areas of the stadium until it has passed H&S so the scope to extend capacity is there just a matter of time, its a shame on one hand it wasn't there for opening night but on the other hand those missing out will likely buy tickets first for the next one etc. I am sure all season they will see crowds of 2,000 plus its then all about when or if the novelty wears off -
Although you cant make Peterborough meetings are you able to attend any meetings? I know you said you're the other side of Kings Lynn so is it possible to attend there?

I can confirm I have never once looked back lol probably because I have quite a good memory and usually I'm wrong which bodes well for the likes of Heeps, Rowe, Starke and Batch -

All depends on the riding order but gonna go with Doyle – 13 Heeps – 4 Batchelor – 5 Riss – 9 King – 11 Starke – 4 Rowe – 1 47-43 Witches Win If Peterborough line up in the riding order of Palm-Toft Andersen Ostergaard Nicholls Harris Basso Palin I think that could wing it slightly the other way 46-44 -

A brick hit his finger, it's more a freak injury and could happen to anyone any age who is racing -
Think belle vue will be alright they have Brennan and I believe Blodorn is good enough to get a 6+ average as well as Allen Kurtz is injury free this season so should kick on, Fricke will be among the highest average in the league On paper it's not the strongest side but racing isn't done on paper It's like people asking why the witches built below the limit, they got the riders they wanted who they think can improve considerably

Aces - Fricke (10) Etheridge (4) , Allen (6) , Wright (6) , Kurtz (10) , Blodorn, (6) Brennan (5) 47Tigers - Holder (12) Cook (6) Musielak (7) , Howarth, (6) Ellis (8), Neilsen (3), Mountain (1) 43 -
What about when that deal falls through which is still quite likely?

This is my suggestion only and probably wouldn't be too popular.... If you move teams up into the Premier League which I will call in this instance the "British League" you then have to filter out riders to other clubs so for example, Sheffield would not have Cook, Musielak, Holder & Ellis in one side, you might have two if you are lucky, if you have say 8/10/12 clubs in the top league you are then really going to have to run at what Championship standards are now really to make it work, potentially you might have to find a medium between current prem pay rates and current championship pay rates. You could then end up with an 8/10/12 team second division which I will call the "National League" which would have to again be a balance between what the championship is now and what the national league is currently, the top end riders who would be in the current NL would have to maybe form part of the main body but not heat leader status in the 2nd division, potentially some current NL bottom end heat leaders or 2nd strings would be taking the reserve berths What the pandemic showed is that riders will get jobs if they want an income, I see riders traveling all over the world, buying houses, new bikes, new vans, etc. if it really was not paying then most riders would be on bread and butter and not having engine refreshes the Top end riders won;t need the 2nd division Danish riders can ride in Denmark Swedish riders can ride in Sweden The second division should be for commonwealth riders only who are not riding in the top flight in Sweden or Poland So aussies etc. who come over here can ride two leagues

The Future of Speedway Game???
Falcon1983 replied to speed29's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I hope any game that is released is like Fifa - Manager mode where you manage and potentially watch or play as any rider in any heat - Career mode when you are a rider or you create a rider, working your way from lower leagues to GP star I know its only going around in circles but any speedway game has to have depth to make it worth buying
