  1. Anyone else find it odd the rising star rider is announced now and not later? Announcing a rider in the main body would give a better indication of what to expect overall Makes me feel like perhaps they dont have all 7 riders secured yet or have been let down on primary targets perhaps due to budgets
  2. Cant see there being enough budget to go around which is a shame when other clubs can attract Holder/Musielak or Kurtz/Bewley and Ipswich have Doyle/King
  3. Think you can fit in Riss, Ellis and someone like Barker but Ellis will be at Sheffield
  4. Isnt there an archeological site situated there? Really good news for Panthers fans
  5. Does anyone know where the land is situated? Its a shame the showground is going, dad used to have some good meetings there wouldn't have mind him being a panther
  6. Doyle, Batch, Ritchie, Riss, King, Rew Think that'll be under by at least half a point
  7. Will be looking to make my first trip to Leicester this season and will bring my old man up, he's never been to the new place either, looking forward to watching a decent looking Leicester side in action
  8. Had a great season last year, wouldn't surprise me if he qualified for the GPs again via the Challenge
  9. Dont know his name either but he owns the City Auction Group and he has a lot of money and is willing to spend big so they say That was until Dudek wanted £6k per meeting lol
  10. If i was a Lynn fan I'd not worry having Jakobsen at no.1 was absolutely mustard at Foxhall last season such a classy rider
  11. What is left after Batch and Riss are confirmed? Riss will be back as there was no other reason to make the late change to swap him out with Tungate unless it was just the case that Tungate was an injury replacement and as Riss rode again after injury the rules meant he had to come back in? Im sure the rules probably won't shed any light Last season Riss was inconsistent he rode well at 6 as he should, but he did have some good meetings at 2 & 4 maybe 6.00 is too high an average but feel its an average that is achievable maybe even putting half a point on Now Batch... He achieved an average of 5.57 mainly riding as a heat leader and there were occasions when his relationship riding wifh Doyle worked in the Witches favour especially in the odd heat 15 and the pairs competition I think that will stick in Chris Louis' mindset and he will ride at no.2 1. Doyle 2. Batchelor 3. King 4. Riss 5. Tungate 6. Rew 7. R/S Looks like having Tungate at 5 leaves us closest to 39 points, after that either Worrall brother or Charles Wright, options are limited indeed but just dont think it will be another rider from outside the UK due to the cost of Doyle and the budget Mr Louis will stick to
  12. Chris louis has always ran to a budget crumpy was on stupid money, doyle will be taking a large chunk of the budget So i honestly doubt there will be any big hitters, likely Batch at no.2, Riss then another not sure whats left after that
  13. A quote by someone clearly not in the know of what is behind the scenes tbh Allen should have maybe not returned from his scaphoid injury last season and given himself more recovery time but when your only income is Speedway then needs must and thats going to affect any riders scoring when carrying or getting over injuries, I guess its quite easy to sit at a keyboard and criticise What is Allen on to start the season 6.80? I think in the Championship he will end up 7.40+ if he gets a premiership slot he starts on a 4.00 and can see him getting into the 5.25+ if starting at reserve, going from what I said previous I think it was Heeps & Rowe in the team with Kemp at no.7 and you had Allen/Heeps & Rowe who all needed to spend time riding at 6 at one point, Heeps & Rowe managed it and despite a strong start to that season Allen then had a poor finish Proof will be in the pudding this season
  14. I've spoken with Batch on several occasions this season just gone and he is actually a very nice bloke He is always happy after meetings and is patient with fans wanting to get autographs etc. and even when having had a bad meeting (I will wait for someone to say every week then) he still offers time to fans - other riders lock themselves in their vans or just go home! His average now is based on mainly riding at no.3 or no.5 which is a heat leader position, at 5.57 I would have him riding next season if he could be riding at either no.2 with Doyle or riding at no.6 and I would even say he would put a 0.5 or more on his average
  15. Not bad, like the idea of Hans at no.2 or 6 around Foxhall and Monmore but maybe a look towards the future would be better, shame that Witches don't enter a side in the NDL
  16. If you look at the stats from Polish 1st division, from 7 meetings he got a rank of 1.742 Riders getting just above that Berge, Becker @ 1.762 and Pieszczek @ 1.746 Riders below that include Lindback, Blodorn, Mads Hansen, Miedzinski, Kvech, Kim Nilsson, Riss
  17. Not sure if you can really compare Allen/Heeps not last season but the season before when Jake came back to Ipswich last minute when really planning to be out of the UK for the year he started in very good form which dipped but from memory you had Jake, Starke and someone else who really needed to be riding at no.6 to gain some confidence back, he ended up riding at no.2 or no.4 as his average didn't drop enough to fall into the reserve spot due to the form of the other two riders! Last season he didn't have a prem place, got a last minute call up to Belle Vue which didn't go as planned, he had some bike issues at the start of last season, where as for example Danny King did but he was allowed time in his teams to get it right which he did towards the end of the season he did just like lots of riders really, he then got into the Sheffield team, got injured and Sedgman came in on fire was had to keep his place, think Jake done his scaphoid which is one of the injuries you wouldn't want as a speedway rider, think my old man had a couple of these injuries. Anyway in comparison one is still riding at HL level in the championship, one is hanging on as a reserve in the same league Jake on a 4.00 average is worth a punt for any side in the prem really, but I would probably say that he needs to show his form in the championship early doors this season and if changes then happen in the prem, he will be high on the list of riders to come in on that average, no brainer if he is averaging 7/8+ in the championship to bring him in on a 4.00 and ride at no.6 for any of the prem sides
  18. Will likely have a similar impact than Blodorn did, give him a few meetings to get the grips with Foxhall, and when he visits away tracks for the 2nd time etc. he will keep learning and improving which will be good come play-off time. All those saying no to Batch or Batch isn't at Foxhall, he will ride at no.2 alongside Doyle 1. Doyle 10.32 2. Batchelor 5.57 3. TBC 4. TBC 5. TBC 6. Rew 4.00 7. R/S 19.11 left
  19. Barker at no.6, Batch at no.2 maybe and could be there or thereabouts A decent side could be put together with Doyle at no.1 but it would come down to budgets or lack of even though the Witches probably get the best average gate throughout the season 1. Doyle 10.32 2. Lidsey 5.16 3. Ellis 6.71 4. Riss 6.00 5. Holder 7.29 6. Starke 3.44 7. R/S
  20. I have just left work due to vomiting reading that line up lets hope you're not even close but then again.....
  21. With Morris now at Leicester and Brennan potentially NOT at Belle Vue Is Rew off to the Aces and not the Witches? Bewley, Blodorn, Zagar, Wright, Kurtz, Rew, R/S? So what options does that leave the SGR Witches
  22. Starke at no.6 would comfortably outscore Rew
