Think the score could have been a tad closer too if Nick Morris didn't impede his team mates twice
-
Yes my mistake I meant 5 or 6 rides, can see him coming in to take one of Thompsons rides maybe if they do a reserve switch And the only additional ride potentially would be for Sedgmen but i fully expect Sedgmen to have a good meeting, maybe the only other options will be via some form of tape infringement etc.

Speedway fans amaze me, not every rider can score 15 point maximums every meeting so in a sport where riders must score 3,2,1,0 you are going to have a lot of different riders at different levels. Jake Allen - injury prone? Isn't injury prone where a rider is regularly on the sidelines or has multiple injuries season in season out? he struggled last season with a broken scaphoid, one of the worst injuries to have while operating a speedway bike, his average as a result suffered as he is not allowed to work in the UK, he only has a racing VISA, so if you were in this position you'd ride injured to try and earn some money? Inconsistent? Prem Average Champ Average 2022 n/a 6.3 2021 4.8 7.72 2019 5.56 7.33 2018 4.59 7.37 2017 4.99 7.45 2016 n/a 5.96 Championship average slightly up and down between 2017 - 2021, again 2022 season with injury saw an average drop. As for Premiership, between 2017-2019 wasn't bad, 2021 was a difficult season and last season didn't really have a proper team place Why do "some" rate him? like most speedway riders through the years, they could do better or progress more in the sport with better backing or better machinery etc. As we see week in week out Doyle is mustard around Foxhall, remember in 2019 season Jake beating Doyle around Foxhall when riding at no.6 Think with the right support and some luck avoiding injuries he could get back to that 5.5/6 average this season, certainly for me has the beating of Hume & both Thompson twins around Foxhall, and potentially Rew too, so expect him to take 6/7 rides tonight
-
I believe he is saying that Fricke, Lawson and Allen riding will ensure a score higher than 36, I think still sticking by 49-41
-
I went for 49-41 for the reason that Morris, Lawson and Harris have gone well at Foxhall recently, Harris was quite impressive around Foxhall last season on his visits Sedgeman had a good season last season too and with Allen and Dan Thompson they look stronger than Rew, Hume and Joe Thompson.... take into the fact that Morris, Harris or Lawson could pop out of the gate and beat King/Riss I think it will be a close one, the powerful top 2 of the Witches will pull them clear though for sure, unless of course Rew takes to Foxhall really quickly and/or Riss and King have a really good night at the office Not saying Rew and Joe are not going to be good, just my expectation from them early doors is lower, if they can do more than expected Witches could hit 52/54 points easily
-
If Nicki doesnt come back the only other rider who has expressed an interest in riding in the UK 100% is Lindback
-
I'm going for a home win looking at the heat lines up 49-41, maybe 2-4 points separating the teams going into Heat 13 and Witches grab a pair of 5-1's to stretch the win out This is based on Doyle & Sayfutdinov scoring 28 points between them not being beaten by an away rider, but also based on low scores from Rew, Hume and Thompson
-
Perhaps they should take into consideration the average that rider holds Home & Away for considering guests, if you need a guest at home and the rider averages 7 at home, you can take someone to that average, if their away average is 4.00 then you must find a suitable guest for a 4.00 would even it out slightly Unfortunately guests are a thing in Speedway its unfortunate that a rider is injured at the start of the season, better to have guests for this reason rather than riders who can't be bothered or a club signing a rider who has no intention of riding and forever using a guest or some form of facility for him/her

Emil Sayfutdinov and Co bring in the crowds?
Falcon1983 replied to Phil's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
First of all in order to get these caliber of riders riding in the UK if you take away the cost is the actual schedule itself, 7 team top flight riding home and away twice is 24 meetings plus play offs plus pairs and cup, the schedule is simply far too much. British Speedway would need a BIG reset and investment for it to happen, i couls possibly envisage discovery investing in domestic speedway as not only do they have the cash, it protects their long term investment and interest in the SGP series, with any investment you could have some big draw riders back but you would also need to invest in youth You'd then need an 8 team top league riding home and away once with play offs to attract the top riders back, but thats not enough meetings to appease the fans of those clubs So you'd probably need an 8 team top league to be a separate entity say consisting the current 7 sides plus say Poole Then allow the 8 clubs to also run in a second series maybe with a North/South divide of some sorts alongside all the other clubs -
Dont think either side should read too much into things after one meeting, the worry for Pedersen and i wasn't at the meeting is that if he takes a tumble is that him done per meeting? He can't magic his bones to be younger than they are now, usually Nicki would be out in his next heat (unless it was a bad one tonight) Witches undoubtably have a powerhouse of a top 2 but they certainly need King and Riss to both fire to not then rely on reserves unless they improve considerably Well done to Hans btw

Hope everyone attending enjoys the meeting sounds like it could be a cracker!

Where would you rate Joe against the other rising stars?

Ipswich vs Peterborough 23rd march
Falcon1983 replied to Gasser90's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Going to go for a very slender 46-44 home win for the Witches, looking at the potential line ups and presuming its Kemp not Rowe at no.7 for Ipswich, i can see the Purple Panthers leading by around 2-4 points by Heat 10 but Witches will turn it around in the last 5 races. Doyle unbeaten, Emil to score around 8/9 from 5 rides -

Have you heard the same thing? -
Personally i would go for Anders Rowe to start the season, if you take away last season, the year before, before he got injured he was flying at reserve and got into the main body of the side. The last couple of meetings he seemed to be heading back to that kind of level, and a season with Doyle etc. Would do him wonders Kemp for me would be 2nd choice, again has good ability but i think as others have said its mentality and doesn't fancy mixing it often which will obviously not see him progress, but again maybe with doyle etc with him for a season that would be good for him
-
King did ride at no.3 often last season when Batch was at no.5 and King didn't perform well throughout most of the season at either This season i don't think it will be any easier at 3 with the likes of Bewley, Lidsey, Jakobsen, Pedersen, KK in the lesgue full time Based on the past he is capable of going better, he does in the championship, but is last seasons prem form his level now for the top flight, will be interesting if he gets his form back then certainly ipswich should pick up alot of bonus points Riss is the same really, never liked him riding at 2 with Doyle as again on his day he can win races at Foxhall, but he wont win races in the same heat as Doyle or against one of the strongest opposition heat leaders Think King and Riss at 3 & 4 will define the season for ipswich, lets hope they both do well

I have seen on Twitter this morning a few posts from different polish fans, all saying that Emil, when Russia invaded Ukraine, posted on social media a controversial image of him in his Russian fedefation race suit which shows support to his homeland Now as a forum member i know not to believe everything, but if that photo surfaces anywhere (if true) that can be quite damning for the club and its sponsors etc. At least we know this deal has been put together via some good sponsors of the club such as Guy and its not being funded by the Kremlin comrades
-
If it was Hawkins idea to get the Emil signing "out there" then you will understand the timing issue if you ever get the opportunity to meet him or see him interviewed on television
-
I believe propaganda is something cockneys do when they have a long hard look at something I'll get me coat
-
Wouldn't surprise me to see Jakobsen become your no.1 throughout the season, such a class act
-
This aged well
-
Might have to slip Emil a few quid to bring some bottles of premium standard over to drink on the terraces
-
If this deal falls apart for Emil maybe they can convince Heeps to change his name to Emil Sayfutdinov and then sign him up, technically they would be signing the name they have been after all winter
