  1. I think Jack Thomas would be a good acquisition for Poole in 2022.
  2. Plus....the product is sh#te and the back bone of fans are/were die-hards and not many new blood coming through? maybe ?
  3. As an away supporter....Friday travel would be my least favourite day....Sunday's being the most convenient. I remember when I was a kid, my Dad would take me to see Boston every now and then. (random...travelling from B'ham) Carl Glover was the main man at the time...(I think?) = 1974/5
  4. Ditto ! The closest I venture to B'ham (apart from when in the City Centre) is Castle Bromwich, even that is starting to become over populated.... Solihull, Shirley, Sutton Coldfield, Water Orton and Coleshill are the only decent areas of B'ham IMO.... I don't know much about Kings Heath/Norton to pass comment on that side of Town?
  5. It's even worse now! A right proper sh#t hole....the surrounding areas are no better (including Perry Barr).
  6. Well if that is the case then I would owe Erik an apology and I duly oblige.
  7. It could have been more had he tried his best, instead of deliberately lowering his average IMO!
  8. If B'ham were to appear again next season....which I doubt very much at Championship level...I wouldnt want to see Riss or Grobauer, both a waste of space IMO! Everything is specualtion and its a load of b#ll#cks discussing it until someone makes a firm commitment/statement!
  9. One league would be my preference....cuts out the doubling up rubbish....more meetings to make up for less earnings.
  10. On reflection, not sure what I enjoyed most? GB winning (simply coz I'm not used to it...) or the fact that we stuffed the Poles for a change ? It's great to 'shut up' their bullish following!
  11. Unfortunately, a lot of the competing countries don't have 4 capable riders at that level.... Certainly didnt feel sorry for the Poles ! Regarding those that say we were lucky? Tell me what was lucky about losing one of the best riders in the world on day one?
  12. Unbelievable result in the Final! However, what impressed me the most was the fact that 'we' beat arguably the form team of the day (Denmark) in a nerve jangling Semi-Final.... Our young HEROES showed incredible bottle/nerve and there was no luck involved, just pure 'CLASS'! P.s I would have been tempted to rest Lambert/Bewley in the 'nothing' final race against Australia...just in case ? (especially with Doyle in the race).
  13. I agree entirely with you....I also think that if we want/expect our 'younger' riders to improve, then we need to have a certain standard requirement of racing surface? A lot of the tracks in this country are p#ss poor ( B'ham....Poole....Leicester....to name but a few........)
  14. Could go with 6 man teams? not sure what the answer to a 'failing sport' is ? It's a dire product atm and unless we can attract the big International stars, then I cant see the sport ever attracting a new following.
  15. I think you'll find that Chris Harris was the main reason Paco did well and performed above expectation at times though....
  16. Riss would be the last choice of rider that I'd want in my team!
  17. I think you can safely say that Redcar's interest in the Play-Offs are over, after Sunday !
  18. Paco's a lovely guy and a real fans favourite....more because of his personality than his riding skills (IMO) I think, if the Leagues stay the same, then the Championship reserve riders would be better off having a criteria of at least being British and may be having 2 reserve 'only' races as opposed to just the 1 at present. Reserve riders don't need to move in to the main body of the team based on GS averages, keep them flexible all season.
  19. Can see 'Speedway' going to one big league next season....and keeping the NDL.... Premiership has been woeful.....
  20. I'm really pleased to hear that there's a lot going on to save the club.....'We (fans/followers) need to hear this ' ! There's been nothing coming from the club about the future....there's hardly any fans on here discussing it....it's easy to see why some think that we are fading away? I dont get why there has to be so much secrecy if there are talks in the pipeline....if you leave it too long, you will have lost 'the fans' attention and 'we' will have found other things to do to fill our Wednesday evenings! What fan wants to endure another season like that? Uk Martin's point wasn't silly IMO....after the stop/start and uncertainty of another disappointing season, it's perfectly normal to have the thoughts that he did? afterall, we all know that riders deliberately under perform to manipulate averages....
  21. He could've at least put some effort in against Edinburgh in the Cup matches ?
