My take on a 'fans favourite' isn't necessarily down to a riders performance week in week out? I think (and only think...) that Shanes and Morris, both make a lot of time to chat and interact with fans before, during and after meetings....just my observation. Both very approachable/affable riders/personalities. Basically, nice guys....I'm sure Paco is regarded in the same mould and will no doubt be one of the next signings. (as quoted by Col...)
-
That rarely happens these days....it's usually just dust in your eyes now
-
It says on the website that they hope to announce the next signing by the end of the week? I'll be surprised if its not Thomas or Paco ..... If it was me, I'd be going all out to announce a signing that made people want to buy a season ticket (Christmas present etc...)
-
I think Agertoft had a lot of potential...his equipment let him down. Even Thomsen came good towards the back end of the season. I think that these riders were signed on the basis that we were seeking 'assets'.....not sure if that was the case, but it was something that I heard in conversation. Anyway....it's history and we move forward, hopefully......

Eastbourne got away with it for years and so did Coventry at Brandon
-
That's about right as far as Morris/Shanes are concerned..... As for the next few signings? I recall reading LR's statement of intent and he said that he's hoping to assemble a side that can challenge for the Play Offs ? Which means it needs to be better/equal to last seasons side.....
-
Well, if you pay yer money to attend, then you have every right to have an opinion...(good or bad...) I actually think that Morris and Shanes will be decent performers on a 'new' grippy track..... Both riders have bags of bottle and on their day, can be both entertaining and match winners.
-
Rowe and Thomas at reserve would be a good shout IMO
-
Nobody will be moaning.....WE are just glad to be still ' breathing' !
-
I think it's debatable if he was treated harshly last time round? Most of the 2019 team were terrible and he was probably a scapegoat for the poor results.... Him and Oyster were well below their best at the time.... I think Newman is on par with Morris/Shanes.....it wont improve us, but wont make us worse ?
-
As expected....could be worse... Paco and Thomas will be next (IMO) It does look likely that we'll end up with Newman....leaving a fair chunk for the last 2 riders. I'm sure there will be at least one big hitter ?
-
Not sure the hardcore will care where we finish...as long as we're entertained. Getting the track right will be equally as important as signing quality riders. I think LR will sign a decent 7....he's not stupid when it comes to knowing who can do what. I've got faith....after all, we wouldn't be riding at all if it wasn't for him IMO.
-
Don't be fooled by December 7th as our commitment/intention date.... I suspect that team building would've been going on for some time way before this date... LR has always sounded confident of us continuing, its probably just been a case of dotting/crossing the details etc..... I still think Smolinski will make an appearance....
-
I'd like to see Andre Rowe given a chance.
-
I'd welcome Oystercard back....but please...definitely not Auty or Newman.....its bad enough having Shanes/Morris. Having said that, the last time we had Oyster at number 1, was most probably our worst season in the clubs history.
-
He'd fit in well with some of the donkeys we had riding last season
-
Sorry if I've made you angry Hellstrom Bangs hasnt said anything to me.... I dont look at the Newcastle thread... And I'm pleased to hear that Riss is going to Redcar... Thanks for all the info
-
That Swedish guy who single handedly represented Sweden in the WTC would be an interesting acquisition?
-
Limit is 42. Not a fan of Riss or Auty. Thomas is the only rider I'd sign from the 5 listed....but we all know that Paco/Morris and Shanes will be dead certs. May be Paul Starke could make a comeback?
-
I misread the thread.... I'm sure LR will put together a competitive side....he's probably been keeping his targets informed throughout this uncertain period. Adam Ellis would be a coup, but he missed too many meetings the last time he rode for us... Is Jason Garrity out yet ?
-
I think Paco/Thomas/Morris and Shanes will be definites....throw in Douglas and Smolinski. Not sure how many points is left to play with ?

Bored of reading people clinging on to 1000 spectators per meeting? Are we talking 1000 adults....800 adults 200 children....etc etc etc ??? We've already established that it rests on a suitable sponsor, which negates the need for 1000 spectators.... Anyhow, surely it's all about how much money the team costs to put together against the offset of how much money the gate receipts tally.... And we don't know how much the entrance fee is going to be yet? Let's get off the 1000 per meeting cr#p.... We need as many fans as possible, a suitable sponsor and a cost effective side.....by the looks of it!!! Great if we do it....not sure I'm that fussed if we don't. -
