  1. Berwick were sh#te and were the poorest team that I saw last season.
  2. No, but they're a useful tool when a second string has an off night . Strong Heat Leaders don't figure in Heats 2 and 8...... Not sure we've had much choice with team selection, so far as Heat Leaders go, but having strong reserves is a positive from experience. I'm sure most teams don't start with strong reserves as their priority and I bet we didn't either, it just is what it is and IMO it's not a weakness or a bad thing. I'm sure most speedway fans will have their own views on it.
  3. Totally disagree with your relentless negative opinions/views about B'ham speedway. Why on earth would they go to all the trouble of the extensive track work if they wasn't confident of completing the season etc.... Time and time again we keep pointing out that 1000 break even figure??? ...it's merely a 'figure of speech' pardon the pun.... so, if we have 900 infants and 100 full paying adults = 1000 spectators...would that suffice? Course not..... We need as many fans as possible....neutrals/away fans included and some strong sponsorship! It's about time the '1000 attendance' was dropped! Lets see the final septet before we make judgement.....surely that makes sense...everyone at B'ham are happy with the first 4 signings!!!
  4. How about Keith Chrisco ? one for the ladies.....
  5. Speedway in the UK is so weak that it will always have to play second/third fiddle to Leagues abroad.....it will never change so far as fixed race nights go.
  6. Nielsen and Morris starting at reserve for us....must be close to being the strongest reserve pairing in the Championship if they perform to their best.
  7. You seem more bothered than us B'ham supporters
  8. Real talent on a bike is rare....not sure why 'we' (UK) don't have much coming through....having all the money in the world wont make a good rider great.... Not many Michael Lee's, Bruce Penhall's, Darcy Ward's, about these days.....REAL TALENT !
  9. Really? Not sure I'd agree with that. However, my point is that the scallywags on the stolen street bikes are pretty skilled riders and probably haven't got any funds/parental guidance etc etc....
  10. Just a quick point on riders coming through? Nowadays, the reason that there aren't as many 'stars' for want of a better word, is because it's way too expensive.....you have to have a few quid to set a youngster up. A lot of natural talent probably don't get chance to have a go. Most probably, the best riders are ones that terrorise neighbourhoods on unlicensed death traps....
  11. Why would we sign 'Verge' ? he's not good enough!
  12. Agertoft had potential....imo....however, his equipment was unreliable.
  13. Not sure what's been said about him.....but if its anything to do with a reaction to being dropped by Poole after just 5 meetings, then you can't hold that against him? I don't know much about him , but he's keen and with Jason Crump as a mentor he can't be that bad? May be he'll end up at Oxford when they dump one of their reserves?
  14. That's what I first thought...but Roger's mentions it in his latest statement, so I'm just making assumptions (as usual) I think your shout about 'Kelleher' could be right though?
  15. My money is on Kelleher to be the 7th rider.....
  16. According to LR's latest statement, the next 2 signings are close....fitting in and around Polish/Danish commitments is what's causing the delay?
  17. I think its more of..... 'the Championship has dropped to a level to suit the standard of rider' if you get my drift....
  18. Apart from the decent track part (B'ham)
  19. I love Scotland...wish I could be part of it everyday...best scenery in the world. Would take me a while to learn the lingo though
  20. My post wasn't meant as a direct comparison....just promoting the positives of the Brits inclusion. It's all we have, especially with Poland killing the sport in this country IMO. Not criticising the Poles....after all, speedway is popular there most likely coz they're sh#te at football amongst other sports....(a whole new debate...) LOL
