Great gesture by the Club to offer a free programme to all of us who attended the Berwick meeting! -

Agree, it's disappointing that the Team news was very late in arriving and may be some notification by the Club's PR would've helped here??? I can only assume that the reason for a late revelation is that may be the Club were waiting on confirmation of our guest rider 'Howarth' (great choice btw....) it looks like we want to WIN this one! Note to Club.....who are doing all the right things....Get the match info out and advertised at least 2 days prior to fixture. It doesnt cost any money to do that. (it's not a criticism before the red'n'yellow brigade start doing their war dance....it's called Good PR....) We've lost a ticket sale! I hope Tosh1218 will reconsider his 'position' and come and support a club in need ! 54 - 36 to the Brummies (due to the Howarth inclusion...) p.s Hope he brings his gloves with him! -
Forward thinking! Should be made statutory at ALL meetings/clubs!

Any team news please?

I totally get where you're coming from! Thank you for your positive thoughts re: speedway at PB! I have been shot down many a time....sometimes fairly and sometimes not, but that's just my opinion and hey that's what forums are for...right? First meeting of the season I mentioned the weather forecast? (negative) I was told by (not mention names) that I was being negative and it could affect attendance? (didnt know that I was on the clubs PR team) LOL The meeting was called off ! Say no more... I said that I wouldn't mention the weather again.....I will keep to my word!

Apologies....I accept the debate of sorts.. Some of their points and opinions are valid though Pete... It was a unique situation against Berwick and one that I wouldnt want the club to face again.
-
My personal view is that there's 2 sides to LR responses? 1. its great to see someone involved with my beloved club who's willing to listen to us fans and I'm grateful that he comes on here and givers us direct info and clarity. 2. From a professional perspective, he may need to keep ANY opinions to himself because of offending a prospective paying customer...... I know we can't have it all ways but that's just how I see it. Iainb is entitled to his opinion whether we agree or not... Again, just my opinion.

There's no debate to discuss? Bottom line is, B'ham have done the right thing and have put what should be a minimum requirement in to place. What it has done, is open my eyes to attending any other meetings around the country.

Fantastic! Thank you to the new consortium for this!

Plymouth vs Poole (League) 3rd May
GiveusaB replied to lbw's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Can we swap Claus Vissing for Danny king please ? Back on topic, can't really make a prediction until we know whose guesting for Kennett? Wouldnt 'Bomber' be the obvious choice? If so, I think Plymouth can win 48-42 -

Good to see the management using the right tactics....throwing Nielsen in against the weaker reserve (Ablitt). P.s First team to take a 5-1 at Poole this season ...LOL.... 'straw clutching' ? -

Looks like you had a valid point (pardon the pun) here....Nielsen appears to have done his bit at reserve (as you'd expect being an ex Pirate) and Vissing was 'missing' .... p#ss poor from a supposedly No.1 rider! -

54-36 Not wasting £12 to stream it. -
It's not about the money now that I've chilled out the way I see it is.... they had/have, 2 options? Either refund/free admission to another meeting and we carry on... or, do wot they're doing and go by the Official guidelines... BUT, put something in place for the next meeting so it minimises the risk of it happening again?

Sure it wasn't him doing his hair? -
So, on the Official B'ham website today.... The club are still taking the stance of 'only £8' off any other home meeting apart from U21 Final. This is disappointing! Onwards and upwards according to the club! No mention of what will be different re: Medical Cover for the next Home meeting? Bad PR IMO! Call me disloyal, but I wont be attending!

Its obviously going to be a hammering on Wednesday. I'm guessing that the management also expect this as no guest employed for Auty ? What are others thoughts on this ? I'm assuming its about keeping costs down ? I'm not fussed either way. I think R/R at home meetings is a no brainer, but 'winnable' away meetings (and there's not many) might be more advantageous to have a guest? May be Danny Gappmaier might re-consider and be a half decent replacement? -
Well the demo last week took place after the main parade (which i would've assumed started at 7.30pm?) I didn't check my watch at the time, but it was there or there about ?
-
P.s and forget about 'Demo' riding before the meeting....waste of time and hardly anyone is interested. Crack on with the match. If there's to be any demo's as such, do it during the 10/15 minute interval, providing the meeting is running smoothly. While I'm on the subject....the parade is lack lustre and boring IMO. Announce the 2 number 1's and let them do a lap and so on.....(straight from the pits etc.....) Just my opinions of course....
-
Just an observation ? even if another ambulance had arrived within an hour or so, the meeting may still NOT have finished due to the 10pm curfew ? So, B'ham would have incurred the extra cost and most likely still NOT have finished the meeting. Get 2 Paramedics and 2 Ambulances in place from the start....
-
Not sure I've read any posts that want B'ham closed ? just an overwhelming opinion that ALL fans at the Berwick meeting should receive a TOTAL refund in order for the current B'ham promotion to hold on to their integrity ? (may be?....this is just my interpretation...)
-
We know and accept that nothing could be done on the night....what we are now interested in, is what will be in place at the next HOME meeting to avoid the possibility of the same occurrence? 'What are the 'many' solutions being worked on ? (last sentence of news bulletin...) If funds are needed to cover extra medical attention, let's get a monthly lottery draw going, as mentioned in previous posts? (not sure how feasible this is, but at least it's a positive suggestion?) All the above post is doing, is trying to justify why we haven't been refunded....unless I'm missing something?
-
Next home meeting v Scunthorpe Weds 4th MAY.... first question....is the Medical cover more comprehensive than at the last meeting ? If the answer is no.....then I know at least half a dozen other supporters (including myself) that won't be making the effort to attend. Reason for making this 'post/announcement', is that I want the Club to get it right.... I accept there was nothing that could be done against Berwick....I accept (reluctantly) that I have forfeited £20 from the 2 entrance tickets that I bought (I will be donating the £16 refund to the Josh Auty fund page set up by the club...) but......the Club NEED to employ 2 Paramedics and 2 ambulances from now on IMO.
