  1. P.s atm, the world Cup of darts beats speedway by a country mile!
  2. Good post...but what really is beneficial to the paying public? Watching a no.8 or a highly skilled speedway rider?
  3. You know I'm only joking Lisa just 'firing' up the anti-Poole brigade (which I'm not a member of )
  4. Couldn't think of anything worse! Ellis can sling his hook as far as I'm concerned! Can't be doing with 'greed'!
  5. Should that read..... in the best interests of 'Poole' ? ..... just teasing Poole fans! I'm not jealous at all
  6. With no other Championship sides riding last night, I was surprised to see that B'ham booked Wells.... Luckily, Pickering saved the day! It's a shi#e situation that we find ourselves in, but if there's enough people to support a sh#te situation, then it will continue I guess. I havent been since the 'Ellis-gate' bullsh#t and I havent missed it!
  7. pound for pound it has to be Plymouth imo..... You can bet that Barker will be on fire.....Nicholls is usually unbeatable.....he's the best rider that I've seen around PB in recent seasons.
  8. Bit unfair on Nielsen, he's the stand out rider for me this season. Sedgemen appears to be ok if he makes the gate.
  9. Not really Col....'it's speedway'....anything goes ! Plymouth to win ..... 38 - 52
  10. Oh, thanks for the info... I didn't know about an 'original' thread? Shame if he/she has been banned...he/she was quite amusing
  11. Just had a quick scroll through this thread and noticed that there's no comment from Poole's No.1 loyal fan (Turnip) whom previously announced that he supports Poole because they win trophies ? I wonder if he'll be seen at Beaumont Park on a Saturday evening from now on ....
  12. The said '3' clubs are obviously in a more financial advantageous position than B'ham ..... I do think that any Berwick fan should've got a FULL refund.... Afterall, if we can give half price admission to Cov/Cradley/Wolves and any away fan with a season ticket, then it would've made sense to reimburse Berwick fans.
  13. Just noticed on B'ham's website that yesterday they posted news about the next home meeting (Weds v Plymouth) every detail (apart from teams) So, I assume this 'news' is aimed at any newcomer ? as regulars already know what to expect and the only 'news' we will be interested in is about line-ups? Its all good and well posting this news to prospective newbies, but they need to know about the website first? Not sure how they go about getting the 'message' out there ? (apologies...just noticed that this news was also done the week before v Edinburgh) Still can't get my head around the fact that Cov/Cradley/Wolves fans can get in for almost half the price that a loyal B'ham fan who's been attending for 51 years....
  14. Somebody has to finish bottom and I would gladly accept it if it were us....but 'only' if we went down fighting week in week out.... I'm fed up of guests and inadequate performances. Not looking to blame anyone, just expressing an opinion. Would I miss Bham speedway if we folded? Only from a 'heritage' point....in the blood an all that. I certainly don't have the same attachment for speedway as I used to have.
  15. No disrespect to Auty, but to hear that he's possibly coming back in July (after such a nasty injury) is only going to make us even weaker than we are now. We are 'Vissing in the wind' with Claus....waste of money IMO! Not sure what experience or knowledge the new consortium have/had, but as much as I admire their commitment, I think 'we' are only going in one direction and it's definitely not up! Off the track, they have got a lot of things right.....no need to make any comments about the team, it's there for all to see. To counter-act the fact that we were late entering and choices were limited....we should of sat this season out and made plans for next year. The Adam Ellis saga doesn't sit right with me (I don't know the details) but whatever they were, it appears like we've shot ourselves in the 'hoof'! I would love to hear the thoughts of Brian Buck.
  16. Newcastle are not alone atm....between us (Bham) and Newcastle, we have 12 'fit/ish' riders and apart from possibly Nielsen/Clegg, none of the rest would manage a team place at any/most other teams in the League....it's a sad state of affairs.
  17. We're not prospering against any team atm....we are very poor.... Nielsen is the only saving grace. Not sure what can/will happen from here on....we need to face Newcastle ASAP, otherwise it will become a record of home defeats before too long. Apologies for sounding negative, but it seems to be reality! P.S Not sure I would call 10 points from 7 rides 'wonder boy' scoring?! may be.... 'weak opposition' ?!
  18. Anders Rowe has always done well at PB when I've seen him there....I think he beat an inform Tom Bacon in the past. He's very competent if he makes the gate. Still, I can't see us signing him....I think Pearson will be here for the season, regardless of performances/scores.....that's not a criticism of James...he's got a great future ahead of him. He's already halfway there, as his gating ability is very evident.
  19. Probably not ? (after 'Ellis-gate' at B'ham, I dont bother reading/listening to stories/rumours ) If he was available, then I think Poole would've found a loophole to replace Ablitt with him?
  20. Anders Rowe for Pearson should be a definite..... As for other team places, it's looking bleak for the rest of this season.....Vissing and Auty need replacing 'permanently', but I can't see where the finances will come from. Nielsen is the only rider that's performing above his average by looks of it?
  21. That's why I say it! Having said that...7 points , 1 race win is hardly a blinder!
  22. You mean consistently better ? he's quite capable of being consistently sh#te at times!
