SGB Championship 2023 Confirmed Signings
GiveusaB replied to Nickinho's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It would be criminal if Jack Thomas doesn't get fixed up....goes well at Poole? -
Second tier ? is there a first tier ? same riders most meetings.... As for entry cost? It's £18 per meeting if you purchase 5 tickets in advance !
-
As for the final signing? I think we're waiting to see if Tate Z is going to be fit or not ?
-
Just to add a comment re:costs etc.... My perspective is, it's not about how much, but what is the value ? Everybody will have their own opinion on value, based on their financial/social status....(some people will not just look forward to seeing some speedway, but meeting up with like minded people/friends etc...) So, my take is........ is £20 value for money to watch/attend a Championship meeting ? (forget the travel/food/drink etc....)
-
According to Brum Forum the Team Manager says that we have 4.22 left, BSF says we have 4.79 ? Wright's average has changed on BSF ?
-
I can't see that on confirmed signings ? But thanks for info.....
-
Lets hope he makes more appearances than Santa...? P.s I think that Tate Z could be heading to Brum!?
-
Why not ?
-
So....back on topic? Connor Bailey-Theo Pijper- or Lee Complin to complete the side ??? Bailey/Pijper would be in the main body due to average, but Complin would start at reserve and push Bowtell upwards.....
-
Brandon (Coventry) was the most boring for me....slicker than a Michael Jackson dance routine. As for Leicester? the viewing is fabulous.....heard that the track had improved....we will see next season at a higher level. It would be interesting to see a 'Riders League Table' of best race tracks? Watching/riding are 2 different points of opinion....
-
I would agree with this . Last season, Terry did a terrific job of getting the track in a raceable condition. Personally, I think, B'ham's track has notoriously been one of the most fairest/most neutral in the country and that dates back to the 70's at the old PB ! We have minimal home advantage...IMO!
-
SW guested for B'ham a couple of times a few seasons ago and he was very approachable on each occasion .... from the few short chats I had with him, I found him to be a Top Man.
-
Just having Chris Harris in the side will make for exciting racing at Leicester....
-
I can't imagine/believe that the racing is better at Leicester ? But what is better, is the spectator viewing area/s!
-
Well....to be polite...I wouldn't want to live there...but I guess, it's more to do with the traffic, which becomes even more unbearable when Villa play at home. The area is run down and also, my journey involves going through a couple of other undesirable areas.
-
I think the 21 year gap that OGT pointed out, has had the biggest impact.... Also, the stadium isn't great for watching speedway (IMO) and the location is a nightmare at times..... I dread travelling to the area.
-
Quite right....Football/Cricket puts a dent in any possibility of new fans.... The only way I can see an increase in attendances, is if 'we' merged with Coventry/Cradley and were re-named to suit.... Signing Nick Morris will not put any 'new' bums on seats, or entice any stay away fans....that's not me whinging, or sounding ungrateful...it's a fact! I don't think the promotion have learnt much about Team management/ building during their first season.... LR needs to step down as TM....great guy....but ???
-
I think there has to be some truth in your post....tax off-set etc....
-
I think that will be difficult unless supporters become Buddhists overnight ! Whinging is an egoic mind state of modern society...very hard to control...no chance of ever stopping!!!
-
If the promotion/s don't want us to discuss finances etc....then may be they shouldn't keep telling us how much it costs to run a speedway club? They have decided to put their money in, so just get on with it! Sometimes a 'negative' post/comment from a supporter/fan, isn't aimed at putting the sport down, it's sometimes 'advice/criticism' to try and change things for the better/longevity of the sport? I guess that's the whole point of forums/discussion boards etc.....
-
Or may be he was thinking about his average for 2023 ?
-
I'll be surprised if the last 2 signings are not Complin and Bowtell. We will struggle away, but should hold our own at home. We wont finish bottom....looking at Berwick/Scunthorpe/Oxford
-
A massive IF with Adam in the team!
-
Good shout....but I heard that he didn't want to ride over here (last season...)
-
I don't mind Bowtell...it's Proctor that I wouldn't sign!
