I thought that this post was a 'fact' !? Silly me for thinking the manager was making a wise move for once!
-
I can't see the manager dumping Nielsen, so it would be just the one place available (for Wright) Not sure what average is left, but as soon as new averages come out, Morris's will drop and we'll have more scope?
-
Ben Morley would've been a fair shout before we signed Proctor....don't think we'd benefit now that we've signed J.T. at reserve.
-
I think we're discussing who we'd prefer to see at PB, as opposed to another woeful signing by the man in charge! We obviously (speaking in general terms) would whince at Auty/Morris, or anybody else that has tried and failed. Bottom line is: sign young Brits and help them progress (D.Thompson/D.Kemp) ( meaning we accept the defeats along the way), or sign 2 riders that are going to make us competitive at home ! (at the least)
-
Fair shout...although it wont improve the team unfortunately. Would rather watch a developing Kemp/D.Thompson
-
Knowing our manager, we will probably end up with Ashley Morris returning !
-
Danny Gappmaier was half decent round PB....Matthew Whethers ? Aarnio ?
-
For sure! Either way it's the 2nd season in a row that we've assembled a poor side! And mistakes are made with tactics in most meetings... Which can only point to one thing?

I disagree... proctor couldve been used to replace Nielsen in a later heat...(just to make the numbers up) sometimes a R/S can be used in a strong race just to complete his quantity of rides...it doesn't have to all be about taking a heat advantage. -

And the proof that waiting benefited us??? -

The TS ia available from heat 5 for a reason. -
Quite right...he's as big a Narcissist as they come! Proper 'Top-Hat'!
-
Me too...he's ended up with 'us' and LR as his manager! Seriously though...what is there to feel sorry for? Joe has been signed and he will have less travelling in the process !!
-
Keeping things local, an obvious choice would/could be Sam Ermolenko ?
-
Hume? Are we talking about who we 'should've signed ? Hume has progressed well....he's whole hearted and good to watch....similar endeavour to Danny King. Problem this season is that I haven't seen much grip on the outside and this could affect overall performance as Hume isnt the best gater (IMo) Think I'd take Dan Thompson....both would be great though! Like you say....ones for the future. Instead of a bunch of has-beens/also-rans!
-
Broc Nicol goes well at PB! Think we'd need to see a list of 'available/willing' riders before we can make suggestions.... I can't see James Wright coming back and making any impact....he has sustained shoulder ligament damage from what I've read elsewhere.
-
Just for the record....Sedgmen is the Captain .... not that it matters. I think we've missed the boat on suitable signings this season... I'd like to see us contribute to the development of Dan Thompson.
-
Apologies if I've upset you by having an opinion that I believe would improve the current state and future of the club. Your post points to the old saying...'pay peanuts....you get monkeys' . If we don't change the manager then we will be lucky to be having this discussion next season. P.s. that's my opinion btw....its based on my 52 years support of Birmingham speedway and speedway as a sport in general.

Shame we can't get Rossiter in!

Any reason why we didn't use a T/S in Heat 6 to replace Proctor ? Does the manager actually follow the scores during the meeting? -
Not sure about pottinger? I don't know his pedigree... my compliment of the post was due to the fact that someone else acknowledged the need to replace the manager. LR sounds like a great guy, but he's not a championship manager imo!

Great Post!

The only way we/bham could improve on crowd numbers is: if we had a radical change of team name and became a collaborated/amalgamation of B'ham/Coventry/Cradley... (possibly Wolverhampton next season...) I can't see why that wouldn't work.... after all, what's in a name?
-
Good suggestions... probably would be cheaper too! I don't believe that the manager has the balls to do it though! Kemp and Joe are no brainers right now!
