Scunny v Birmingham x3 - 28.07.2023
GiveusaB replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Totally agree! -
I think a stint at reserve will be the make/break of his season? unfortunately Paul doesn't seem to be his usual self atm. We only have 4 home meetings left anyway, so I cant see any change coming.

I was 20... But I also remember reading Sam's autobiography and it details it in there! LEGEND! -

The fact is...he's banned from riding.....that doesn't happen unless you're guilty of a misdemeanour! In the history of the sport, has there been any rider that's received a ban and then had it over turned due to proving their innocence? -

Well he's had plenty of time to conjure up some 'bull-sh#t' excuse! -

We've gone over this many times and we came to the conclusion that the local community are predominently Asian and are not interested in speedway and as for the rest of the not so local community, they prefer football/cricket ! (Aston Villa/B'ham City/WBA/WCC) -

I can see your point and I actually said at the time that I thought it was the wrong move.... However, I can see why the T/S was played early as we needed to try and stop the mauling asap! I think that a T/S and a Res/R are more critical when you have an actual chance of getting something out of the meeting..... As already pointed out....the meeting was effectively a non contest after 3 heats! Only highlight from a B'ham perspective was the continued improvement of Sam Hagon and Nielsen beating the Cooks in Heat 10!! I thought Troy worked hard and although he's obviously passed his best, he is a clever rider (shown when sorting Rowe out in Heat 5) -

Agree about the score..... Disagree about the small crowd? I thought it was well attended.....well, it was compared to all our previous meetings!? The track was very slick and the racing was 'dour'! I can see why Plymouth released Starke!? -

In essence, the point I was trying to make to Lisa, is that Worrall is just an average Heat Leader round PB, just as is Troy..... Nothing special like Bomber/Nicholls/Douglas..... Yes, Pirates will 'p#ss' it tonight! -

Your entitled to your opinion We can compare scores tomorrow Worrall is good, but if he doesn't make the gate, he wont pass Batchelor/Bowtell or even Sedgemen.... Btw....Alfie Bowtell beat Tom Brennan last week ! -

Worral/Batch evens... my opinion is based on what I've seen from both riders around PB....not in general! As for Ben Cook? Oh dear...sounds like he's as good as, if not better, than Zach!? -

It will be interesting to see if Hagon can get the better of Adam....Hagon is improving with every outing and he fills me with optimism! I'd have Bowtell and Newman on level terms. Rowe/Cook will leave Nielsen/Starke in their wake. King better than Lawson. Worral/Batch evens... Not sure how Ben Cook goes at PB (never seen him), but I do know that he wont have to be that good to beat Sedgemen! -

I bet he loves getting paid, more than he loves Poole! Danny's a competitor and I'm sure he'll be going all out to beat Lawson and co. Zach Cook is the pick of the Poole team for me...he looked great when guesting earlier in the season. -

I think the spectator viewing is fabulous at Leicester! If B'ham do fold, I would be tempted to travel and get my fix there! -

Shov....with this in mind...you might want to re-consider your 'viewing' point! I find bend 4 (steps) the best vantage point! albeit a bit 'cozy' at times and sunglasses are needed if the weather is kind! P.s Forecast looks good for this evening! -

Redcar have got NO chance of finishing top! Oxford/Glasgow/Poole are the favourites! King is riding as a guest because he's the best available option! (being dumped by Poole last season adds a bit of 'spice' ! ) -

On paper ! BUT...... Sedgemen is absolute sh#te at home this season! King is the best choice of guest, but as for the others, they wont be able to live with Lawson/Worral/Cook's and I fear that Newman is going to have a stormer! If we can keep it under 14 points, then we will have done well! -

Having got there 30mins before start time, I've found there to be plenty of parking spaces right in front of the old turnstiles ! (by plenty, I mean about a dozen or so....)
