Well if we stay in the NL then I don't think I'd be that disappointed if we don't run!? Like I've said before? I go out of habit and the NL doesn't hold any weight for me from an entertainment/enjoyment spectacle! I don't think I enjoyed any meetings from the Prem on BT sport either??? (may be one race involving Max Fricke at the NSS) The Championship is the only 'genuine' competetive league in British Speedway imo !
-
So, now we know that the NL is being down graded to a slightly better version of the MDL, can we have an announcement of our elevation to the Championship please ?
-
Surely Birmingham have been deliberating whether to move up or not since the inter-league challenge with Peterborough ??? As for it being a PR disaster? I don't think it is, purely from the point that it's got people talking/debating ??? However, now that the seed's been planted, I do think that it will be a massive morale de-flater if we don't take the bull by the horns and step up a tier ? Personally, I don't want to amble along in the NL, I'd rather gamble, even if it compromises the future of B'ham Speedway ! (speedway future as a whole is in jeopardy imo..) (admittedly, it's not my money being thrown in....I respect the 'Masons' and believe they've done a cracking job so far) Another season in the NL doesn't hold any weight for me.....I would only attend out of habit and not enthusiasm!

IOW could be one of the teams to move up ? They have a lot going for themselves and appear to have a very decent promotion behind them?
-
Birmingham will definitely move up imo ! We have got 'speedway' people running the show and with Cradley/Coventry struggling, I think we have a location that might entice a few 'neutrals' to attend. Especially if we sign one or two or 'their' riders i.e Connor Mountain if he's available ??? I think now that Ipswich/ Peterborough have moved up, it will be a dead cert that Tom Bacon/Danyon Hume will stay ? having not been in touch with the Premier league list of available riders, it will be very interesting to see who 'potentially' we could sign?
-
I'm guessing its going to be Birmingham and Eastbourne that move up ???
-
Kemp or Bacon are worthy winners imo!

Congratulations !

Mildenhall V Eastbourne NLPO Final 2ng leg 25-10-18@7-30pm
GiveusaB replied to Super Blue's topic in National League Speedway
I think it will be down to the reserves......if one team's reserves can overhaul the other's second strings....then it's job done! I have to side with Mildenhall because imo they deserve to be champions this season. But Eastbourne have a great history and can make a case for adding the title to their name. Wish it was being screened because it 's certain to be better than some of the sh#te BT have shown this season! -
It was good just to hear the 'Heathens Belles' on the 4th bend : )))))))))))))) No, it wasn't a meeting that will last in my memory, but after the difficult season we've had, the promoters deserved something back and if this meeting helped them, then I'm glad! Anders Rowe rode impressively.....it was good to see the progression of Dan Gilkes.....shame that 'Shanesy' made the gate so many times.....Ref made 1 error and that was excluding Lawlor for a first lap/ bend incident.......he let tapes touching/moving at the start go a couple of times, which I think was of benefit to the continuity/fluidity of the meeting on a chilly (standing around) evening! As for who rode for who and who was named who ??? it was a 'challenge' meeting, so does it really matter? There are Cradley/Wolves fans at PB every home meeting and there's no sign of a Cradley/Wolves rider then ? Great to see our injured 'heroes' in attendance....none more so than 'Mitch Davey'....I'm glad I stayed till the end to see him back on a back...it's helped a long way to erasing the memory of that dreadful incident back in May !
-
Really??? I've only seen the track when on BT sport and that's been poor and then I've heard all about the NLRC and that's sounded even worse It was also poor when B'ham raced there ? Which was during the second half of the season ? Great stadium for spectating, but I don't rate it for 'racing' ! I'm glad I don't have to go there week in week out!

Is This The Worse Team Ever To Win The League?
GiveusaB replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is that the same 'past his best' Chris Harris that came from behind to beat the then 'World Champion' in the final heat of the semi-final play off....to secure his team victory? -
3 of the most promising British riders riding at one of the worst tracks in the country ???
