  1. Your entitled to your opinion (of course I accept that) but do you seriously think that anybody attending for the first time, or even the occasional attender, reads this forum ??? there's only you, H Gould, UK Martin and myself, that make regular comments??? : ) As for GA, he makes a lot of sensible and very diplomatic points, but his loyalties obviously lie in protecting the business that he works for. Hence the comment about Zach ??? I'd much rather see Tobias Thomsen in the side. Zach may have top scored a couple of times, but he hasn't passed a rider all season! P.s the benefit for the Eastbourne fans (re: the weather) is that they have a 400 mile round trip …..I thought that was pretty obvious??? If it helps the club I wont mention the weather again : )
  2. Absolute rubbish!!! People will make their own mind up whether to attend or not ??? Being a 'dead rubber' meeting is the likely cause of a low attendance!
  3. If you read the first post about the weather correctly, you will see that I stated 'If the forecast is correct' ??? the Met Office make the forecast, not me ! Also, we called the Leicester meeting OFF because of the forecast and didn't wait to see what effect the weather had? which, we all know was fine and racing could've gone ahead! I mention the weather purely for the information of an away supporter travelling all the way from Eastbourne??? if my comments about the weather put any B'ham fans off, then they're not really fans at all and I must have the same influence as Simon Cowell does when swaying voters on BGT ! LMAO!
  4. A very poor excuse ….imo I have a solution? get Ulrich to buy Zach's machinery !
  5. I've never heard you so bitter Hobbit? It does make me smile when you say it as it is..... Congratulations to the promotion for getting/putting the meeting on last night .... they had some stick the other week and now they deserve some credit (imo) As for the meeting? It was surprisingly quite good up until about heat 9/10.....then the track became a 'one line' circuit.....hence Adam's 2 defeats.... Lawson and Kennett got to the 2nd bend dirt first.....(may be due to Ellis's earlier start warning?) As for the track itself? it appeared to have more shale on it, but I don't think that it was evenly spread? (but I'm no expert) A previous comment 'Stoneman put Zach and Ulrich to shame'....Spot on! As for Ulrich? I think he was unlucky to be excluded when clashing with Newman? I also think that Kennett was at fault in heat 1 and shouldve been excluded....but it's all down to angles etc....I maintain that Ulrich is still a good rider on woeful machinery!? Zach needs to take a break and search for some commitment/confidence....he struggled to control his bike on bends 3/4 last night....he doesnt appear to be able to handle the speed? We're screaming out for Luke Becker if his International permit allows ? Can we afford him? I'd replace Zach and Ulrich with Danyon and Luke! P.s Paco is a class apart when he gates....but he doesn't gate consistently enough imo....I think he will struggle if put in the main body of the team? Bring on Sheffield....I think we will do them!
  6. I think the teams will be more balanced since our last meeting.....I just think that riders will play it safe with very little passing due to poor visibility! It's definitely an evening for die- hards only?!
  7. I'm surprised its even going ahead? hasn't stopped raining/drizzling since 1pm.....prepare for a mud bath!
  8. Agreed! However, looking at the forecast, if it's correct? I predict another Rain-Off!?
  9. Tom Bacon guesting for Shanes....adds a bit of interest alongside the return of Newman !!
  10. Zach rides for Swindon too, so if he doesn't progress from there then he never will It's just my opinion, but I don't think Zach has the confidence to pass a rider ? He's as quick as anyone when he makes the gate.....but I'd question his 'confidence/risk factor' You cant teach 'bottle'....you've either got it, or you haven't !? My intention isn't/wasn't to start a thread about Zach? but from a 'B'ham' team strength.....I'd choose Ulrich over Zach atm....and I do think Ulrich is the easy target when we have a bad result!? I would love to see Zach progress to a fully fledged GB rider......
  11. just realised why we signed Ulrich??? so that he can be a scapegoat for every poor result ??? I feel for the guy! He needs better machinery imo…...he always tries hard and I'd keep him over Zach any day of the week!
  12. Missing 'Zach' isn't going to make any difference to the outcome imo.... 55-35 ? As for Ulrich? he's a good rider on 'desparate' machinery........
  13. I think it will be even worse next week? Half-term ? Europa League Final? Eastbourne in a dead rubber ?
  14. Not great ? Unfortunately, I don't think it was as big as the promoters would have liked?
  15. Echoing a few of the positive comments already mentioned above.... Such a relief to hear that the very impressive Josh Pickering is going to be ok ....his crash looked awful, especially as it happened on the back straight...he went for a gap that literally wasn't there! Amazing what having a 'real' No.1 brings to the team...it seemed to 'inspire' the rest of the boys to perform! Ellis was head and shoulders above everyone and it already appears that he has developed a great on track understanding with James Shanes, who had his best meeting so far this season. Morris rode like he had a point to prove ? recording the fastest time of the evening in his 3rd ride! Zach (already mentioned) brilliant when he makes the gate....but lacks considerable confidence/bottle when behind. A promising start for Stoneman....should get even better after a few more meetings. Paco is another rider that looks class when he makes the gate! Felt a bit for Ulrich?: came down heavily in his first ride and appeared to have damaged his number one bike and then struggled for speed for the rest of the evening? Overall, I'd say that we beat a very mediocre/poor opposition.....and I think that the 'biggest' difference to previous performances was the simple fact that we actually got out of the starts for a change!?
  16. What a really funny post ! : )))))))))))))))))))))) From someone who thought that Edinburgh were going to turn us over last night ?
  17. If the walls in the pits weren't concrete, then JB would have even fewer injuries !
  18. Looking forward to tonight's meeting : ))))))))))))))))))))))
  19. Cameron Heeps looked like a class act on Monday night at Ipswich....can't see anyone but Ellis getting near him?
  20. Sticking to the thread.... Weather looks great.....team looks 'hungry'....let's hope for a positive result! Ashley Morris is my biggest concern....he can't become a bad rider over-night?
  21. Ashley Morris looked way out of his depth at Ipswich.....'BIG concern' ! I think he'll be next in the firing line?
  22. I don't see it as a lie to the fans......I see it as a lie to the 'control board' to avoid a fine for non compliance! Anybody with half a brain can see that!
  23. Peter/David are not local....they could quite easily take their money and invest it in another club if fans aren't happy with how they're running things? Where would that leave us ? Strewth.......
  24. We need to be backing the 'promotion' not persecuting them! I don't think you realise how much money the Masons would've lost had they run the meeting? I applaud them for making up an excuse to call it off and not take my hard earned money to see a farce!
