Brummies v Tigers, Scottish edition 3/7.
GiveusaB replied to Col's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Can’t win em all... did what we could with what we had available.... why Ellis Perks? Don’t think any brummies fan would’ve chose him? (Cheap...may be?) what’s the difference between the new Dane and Tobias Thomsen? Apart from Thomsen being a lot better imo??? we are considerably weaker with the new signings imo... -

Kurtz moved in Heat 1 along with Fricke.....'why didn't he receive a warning also' ? How on earth do the BV fans put up with that screeching woman on the mike....It's enough to put me off going ! Enjoyable meeting with some very brave racing! -

Feel for Nathan ! Like I said earlier....these moves have obviously been done with a budget in mind!? That's fair enough! -

Not sure why the word 'fickle' has been used? I'd also have Danyon over Zach any day of the week! -

The way it's been going this season, you'll be lucky to get Brum's line-up before the day of the meeting ??? -

If it is Danyon, then it looks like we're struggling for 'funds' ? I'm happy to see him back at PB, but I think he'll find it tough going at this level....hope he can stay injury free! -

So, we will soon be finding out who we are signing as Zach's replacement? I'm putting my money on Ben Barker !? (hopefully) -

Absolutely cracking idea by the B'ham promotion coming up next home meeting? A £3 ticket buys you the privilege of watching 3 heats from the Centre Green ? Heats 12 - 14 ...... Surely 'every' speedway spectator would love that experience? Brilliant! -

The outcome would've still been the same had we had our strongest 4 out …. imo !? I don't think we should dwell on it, or have need to judge/comment.....it was what it was ? Looking forward to the announcement of Zach's replacement and hopefully another home win against Glasgow! -

Nothing on the main website about the Fours today ??? who's our quartet ??? -
Keep hearing Wright/Nicol were the difference from us winning/losing??? Morris was unbeaten by an opponent against Sheffield in our last home meeting (apart from 1 heat when he was excluded) that included a win over Nicol ??? Wright is on par with Ellis (may be?) and Stoneman would've outscored Coles all day long.... so imo. effectively we were weaker and still won !? Newcastle lost because they weren't very good on the night!

Lasse was leading in heat 12 when his clutch disintegrated..... Really ??? Broc Nicol chased down and caught him on the line with a brilliant and courageous pass from what I saw ??? Lasse was poor all evening imo....Jorgensen looked brilliant in his first heat and I feared the worst, but he looked like a reserve rider after that ! Wethers improved as the meeting wore on and he was good in heat 15, but lucky to win it after Paco lost control whilst leading. Worrall was good when he made the start (he rolled and got away with it in Heat 11) but looked ordinary when behind...Nicol and Castagna flew past him in Heat 5 ! It was an easy win for us and we never looked in danger of losing!

Brummie Kev is spot on with his summary from last night's meeting! Have to echo his sentiments re: Broc Nicol....what a rider....pushes the bike and the track to the limits! Paco rightly pulled for moving at the start (twice) so why wasn't Worrall in Heat 11 ??? inconsistent refereeing yet again! can't get something as simple as that right!? I'm just glad it didn't affect the overall outcome of the meeting. Not sure about the crowd level.....but thank the '4' Newcastle fans that turned up ! Hope you had a safe journey home Ok, so that's 4 wins on the spin at home....this time with only 3 of our own riders....so, are all you Championship Elite still looking forward to visiting the so called basement boys at Perry Barr ? I very much doubt it ??? Just on the point about Shansey's gating ? in his programme notes he mentions a debilitating injury to his thumb, which affects his starts.....but he hopes this will heal in time? Also, compliments to the track team, they really turned things around from the last meeting and delivered a 'proper' surface for racing! Just a shame that some of our riders have requested a slick surface ??? (again...from Shanes programme notes) -

We need to see a list of other meetings that he's not available for, before we can pass judgement on that one? -

Luck ??? not sure what sort of luck ??? I think David and Peter are being let down by fans....not luck.....they're giving us what we've been asking for and B'ham fans are not backing the club like they were probably led to believe? Lets face it....speedway is a very hard product to sell these days, especially in a City as big as B'ham (lots of competition) and not much interest from local communities! just my opinion!? -

Thank you Connor is a very promising young rider and I was impressed with him last season when he rode at PB......so in hindsight, I think it's a great choice tonight... I wish him well. -

Broc Nicol ? (Great choice)....Connor Coles?(would've gone for Danyon Hume) ....Charles Wright ???( Not sure about that one...) be surprised if Wright hits double figures! Max Clegg could be the match winner for Newcastle imo.... -

Is BT Sport helping the demise of speedway ??? Surely Tattum/Pearson and the other so called experts know what a poor race track Wimborne road is? yet they still decide to televise there, when they could have easily gone to Kings Lynn for a local derby match....surely the atmosphere and the racing would have been better from an entertainment spectacle?

GiveusaB replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Apologies if it's been said before....What annoys me about the moving at the start scenario is that referees only seem to pull it back if the rider moving hits the front? Surely if they get out ahead of ANYONE, then it's unfair ??? Poor refereeing once again imo……. 2 heats worth the entrance fee and one heat which should have seen Madsen excluded for unfair riding imo! Poor spectacle if that's the pinnacle of our beloved sport (imo) -

You only have to look at the 'darts' to see what a bit of music/build-up does for viewing/spectator ratings ??? Professional presentation goes a long way! -

True! I was probably looking at it through my speedway fan lenses ? : ) i.e for me, if I fancied a weekend away down that neck of the woods, I'd get there Friday evening and watch the racing and then come back home on a Sunday etc.... -

GiveusaB replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think Somersets attendance will definitely have taken a hit with a midweek race night as opposed to a Friday, simply from the fact of how many people frequent that area 'leisurely' at weekends.....regardless of what League they're in and what standard of meeting is on offer? -

Hope Ash is keeping fit, because 7 rides from 15 is a tall order ! he'll need '2' up to speed bikes ..... If I was the manager, I'd be carefully plotting/creating(in advance) a few gaps in the meeting for him to recover sufficiently?
