  1. Difficult decision for the promoters with several different forecasts for the evening. Being so far "out on a limb" and running on a Friday night with all the visitors who use the road down I can totally understand the reasons for an early "call off". Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. The season just hasn't got going but we've still managed three fairly bad injuries. Using R?R isn't going to cut it, we did that for long periods last year. It brings a lot of disappointment to the supporters. Now we hear that Nathan Stoneman has signed for Birmingham as well and that they will have first call on him, at least 3 meetings with a clash. No blame on him, he's been our most exciting rider in both the one home and the away meetings and he has to earn a living but that the rules allow it is not great for the supporters who pay their money at the gate. The control board is killing speedway with the rules they bring in. I love my speedway, I love the track at Plymouth, dust and all, some of the racing is fantastic. I watch the GP's on BT Sport and sometimes give up because it's just a procession even at that level, also the top league fixtures they show at the tail end of the season, boring, I don't know any of the answers. I do know some new blood needs to come into the control board though with some new ideas before it's too late.
  2. At the end of the day Plymouth will continue to have a speedway team next season something which was much in doubt at the end of last I think. New sponsorship or actually any sponsorship is so difficult to get so my thoughts are WELL DONE to the Mark, Stuart and Mattie. Paul is working hard as well. I am pleased to sponsor a heat for the season as I have done the last two years. It's a relatively small amount but if it helps keep my Friday nights going, we as spectators just need to get behind the team and give them the support they need and deserve.
  3. Your wish came up trumps lol happy days :-)
  4. Don't think anyone is a cert to be honest, really want Richie Andrews to be back but who knows...... Only the management know where they are going with the team.
  5. Can't see Plymouth moving up, crowd support too small, will be lucky to run at all I think at the moment :-(.....fingers crossed we do but will be with a struggle
  6. As a Plymouth supporter I would disagree with your choice there, we had as many injuries as Birmingham but being as far west as we are and riding on a Friday it seemed difficult to get replacements. We were still in with a shot until the last few meetings :-)
  7. So do I but I'm not holding my breath on it :-(
  8. Mildenhall did much the same thing in the last meeting of the season at Plymouth in 2017, they did show but fielded a very scratch team resulting in a 64-26 win for the home side. As the promotion there has put the club up for sale and says it will be no more if a buyers not found it will just put another nail in the coffin of speedway in this country sadly.
  9. Only I meeting cancelled through sewage problem. Like most teams injuries and lack of replacements have been the Devils downfall. We've ridden the last few meetings of the season with 4 riders really. No unattached 3 pointers to fill the reserve spots, the guys we've used have tried their best but when they have to take 6 rides it makes it so much more difficult for the riders who can score to make any impact..
  10. Not good for us at Plymouth when Ellis now has a fractured Fibia apparently
  11. Realistically we only had a 4 man team, especially when Kelsey was withdrawn, heat 2 was a give away and it continued from there. This season has just been one injury after another for many teams, we have been hard hit as have the Brummies ....much easier to get a guest up there though than to get someone down to Plymouth on a Friday evening. The green sheet averages have always been against us as well, not sure how a rider who has been injured and not ridden for two years has an average to come back with as a heat leader. But hey what do I know :-( the 6/7 slot have been our problem for a few meetings. Adam has tried hard, sometimes too hard and I don't think Kelsey's head has been in the right place after his departure from Eastbourne. Let's see what next season brings :-)
  12. Not really , we enjoy seeing good talent ride our track....I don't think anyone would have enjoyed what they would have been walking around in though. A Bouncy Castle theme park for kids on weds/thurs meant the facilities were over used. Danny Ayres is a real racer, we love him down our way and I was looking forward to seeing how Leon Flint rode the track for the first time. It just follows the run of bad luck we've had this season.
