  1. I wonder who the exciting surprise from Europe is? The Bacon Louis interview would seem to suggest that the sale of the club and move up was very last minute and not foreseen by Louis towards the end of last season as it seems to hint Covatti and possibly Schlien were expecting to have Ipswich as there championship clubs having agreed premiership terms.
  2. I have a feeling Hample is gonna figure. Nothing to base that on but just a hunch.
  3. Getting worse for those of us down Foxhall way.
  4. Check out @DrewKemp118’s Tweet: The only Ipswich activity on social media is recent days and very much a case of what you could have had. With each passing day the sale of the club and the 'move up' is looking like the wrong move.
  5. Louis did say we would be competive! Looks like we'll be involved for the scrap for the wooden spoon. Not much seems to have changed since the last time we were in the top flight
  6. Given Nicholls local connections I'd be quite happy having him back and possibly even making him captain. To allow king to concentrate on his riding assuming king is returning. However we certainly need some fresh young blood so no thank you to Harris.
  7. More like Karol Baran! Anyone knows if mighty Ben Howe fancies a come back? In all seriousness they need at least one exciting name and an excellent up and comer in the line up.
  8. I just hope they haven't forgotten that the crap sides they put out in our last couple of elite league days almost finished the club with crowds dropping below the 500 mark. It's starting to feel like the bad old days of waiting until after Christmas only to see a couple of dodgy Poles named in an uninspiring side. I'm generally fearful how weak we'll be. Hope I'm proved wrong.
  9. Seeing our riders getting fixed up elsewhere the lack of news from Foxhall is both frustrating and worrying. In recent years our side has been named by now.
  10. Let's go retro Nicholls Andersen Protasiewicz
  11. Just a guess but Jason Doyle and Richard Lswson could be on the potential signing list
  12. Doesn't matter what he expects if the rules dictate he can't.
  13. Won't need Kings Lynn's ex riders when Doyle Woffinden Nicholls and Drabik arrive as part of team Tru Plant :-)
  14. From the outside looking in I think Louis was happy to continue in the championship had that stayed at the same level as the last couple of seasons. Once it became clear that I was going to weaken he was concerned that the Ipswich public would not support that. However didn't want to take the financial risk of top flight racing. Chapman needed Ipswich to move up to save the premiership and so the value of the club increased & Louis cashed in. Can't say I blame Louis for selling as in a few years the way speedway is going it would have been worth bugger all. The cleaver part is that Louis has a clause to buy the club back in the future if he wishes so if the sport has an amazing recovery he can take back control. That for Louis is a win win situation.
  15. I'm pretty sure Dean Standing was never club asset and held his own registration thus allowing him freedom to move clubs. Not that that has anything to do with 2019 lol
  16. I'm thinking we'll see one or two under the radar suprises along with a swansong for Nicholls possibly as captain.
  17. One thing for certain is that Chapman got to make this work if he fails he loses the money ploughed in 3 teams and the top league at least collapses. Brave man.
  18. From what Louis said on BBC Radio Suffolk last night clauses are in place so that he can buy the club back at a later date if he wished to.
  19. Coming from Ipswich I find it a little strange as I don't think anyone could foresee Louis selling up especially to be brought by another current promotion. However it seemed to work OK when Pavitt Louis snr. & Western ran both Hackney & Ipswich for a couple of seasons.
  20. Perhaps Chapman is trying to become speedways Barry Herne. Buy all the top clubs and then you can control everything. The man is a genius and welcome to the exciting new era of Busters Speedway Promotions Alliance.
  21. I agree. Louis interview the other week seemed to suggest that he wanted to see change for the better and to oversee that change. Which to be honest has been my impression of him ever since he took over from his dad. However if he has got to the point that he can't see those changes happening and he knows he can't influence the inner workings of the BSPA then who can blame him for selling up while the the club had some value.
  22. Good point. To keep the premiership going Chapman needed teams to bring the numbers up. Maybe Louis and Rathbone just said you want us to move up then by us out.
  23. What a strange day! I just can't see why Chapman wants to own 3 teams in one league. However given the state of UK speedway it's good business by Louis. Sells the club and makes some money. Whlie staying on to run the club he loves with no financial risk.
  24. Looks like Buster is taking over the world of Permiership speedway owning King's Lynn Ipswich and Peterborough!
