Whoa there Biffa. Shouldn't worry if I were you there was no slight at Boro and I only wish the club well. So get down off the old high horse. Dont know Mr Bratley never met him so cant comment and I always thought it was Bananarama who said "it's not what you say but the way that you say it" and I do admire your commitment in defending all things Peterborough. It is still my personal view and sorry if you don't like it however that I have a very low opinion of Ged and no doubt he of me however when we meet we still pass pleasantries after all it costs nothing to be civil. Also I must add that I do find it somewhat remarkable that you defend a guy you have never met or spoken to. You will be telling me Charles Manson is a nice bloke and Peter Sutcliffe was just misunderstood with a premise like that!!! Never mind and just to get back on topic I know many Redcar fans would not be to impressed if "Old Man Havvy" was to return however if it was a straight choice between Brian coming back and not running surely the former is much more preferable. (Oh and by the way I like old Brian he is great craic and has some fantastic story's) (but if anyone wants to slag him off that's fine as "Like the Murp... oops sorry cracked that one earlier... but you know what I mean) Regards THJ -

Sorry spelt his name wrong in the first post and to give Stewart credit he is a very knowledgeable guy and always has something worth listening to when it comes to this sport. It will take a long time for his Glasgow core to change to a Leicester one because if you could cut him in two; like a stick of rock; he would have Glasgow Tigers written right down the middle. However Glasgow's loss is definitely Leicesters gain. Regards THJ -

Right that's it the half day is booked in with tomorrow and Monday off as well (Stuff Work) and I am heading West to watch this second leg match, Maryport for 15:00 hours and DP 16:00 hours to see if me old pal Steve "God" Lawson and Chris Redmain need a hand at the track. Oh and I will be sorting them out with a couple of "Flimby Pies" just to keep their strength up. Looking forward to a big weekend of Speedway Up the Comets Regards THJ -

Sponsored a couple of Glasgow riders in the past and used to talk to Stuart now and then when our paths crossed but since he is off to Leicester I doubt that will be happening much now and being a person who considers himself rather a "gregarious chap" (alright gobsh!te) I will converse with and listen to anyone and value their opinion and beliefs even if I don't always agree with them. Then of curse you can always resort to the "smack in the mouth" protocol that is usually a deal clincher. Regards THJ -

OOOH er Missus!!!! Bitchy bitchy!!! From the Ged Rathbone appreciation society I presume "give as a cuddle and a kiss" XXX Sorry just not that keen on the guy and we speak regularly and he probably has the same opinion of me however "like the Murphy's I'm not bitter" and certainly wont be losing any sleep over it. Certainly don't disagree, however the impression is that promotions only stick to the rule book when it suits them. All other sports have "rules" which are applied fairly and if there is a dispute the definitive outcome of the appeal or the compromise agreement reached is accepted but not in Speedway. It is a case of "I don't like that so I will sue" (or threaten legal action) and the body that runs the sport is so weak they just roll over (literally every time) which makes it look very amateurish in most peoples eyes but it will never change under the current structure If they cannot stick to rules (or a rule book) why not strip them out and have a loose framework then no one can be accused of cheating. True but lets face it when you talk to Ged or if you ever have the misfortune to have any dealings with him you would find he is a rather odious misanthropic miscreant type of a guy. (Just my personal opinion of course however I can see where the Redcar promotion are coming from) Regards THJ -

Nearly Dave (but you got me thinking) Edinburgh V Newcastle in 2009 was the first time Golden Heats were used and it was in the first round of the play offs when the meeting ended up 93-93 after the second leg and Edinburgh won on the Second Golden Heat. They also beat Kings Lynn in the next round and went on to race against Belle Vue in a promotion relegation Play Off Which the Aces romped to a huge win (I was at all three meetings) however the Golden Heats went as follows SUDDEN DEATH HEAT 1 Line-up: Wethers, Fisher, Lemon, Bach Result: Wethers, Bach, Lemon, Fisher (F) (61.1) A 3-3 from the start, with Wethers and Fisher behind Bach. Fisher slid off, whilst challenging but then Wethers pulled off a phenomenal pass on Bach on lap 3 to take us into Sudden Death 2. SUDDEN DEATH HEAT 2 Line-up: Tully, Wolbert, Larsen, King Result: Wolbert, Tully, Larsen, King (61.0) The roof is raised off the Dale, as Wolbert flies from the tapes, and Tully cuts underneath Larsen off bend 2 to join his partner and take the Monarchs through to the Play-Off Final... Thanks to the Monachs Chatzone Archive for the above memories On the Regs. and Date restrictions, I am not sure about either however Hoggy did state from the centre green at the 2nd leg of the Newcastle KO Cup tie on 21st September at DP that if it did end up a draw that there should be a re-play however due to the late stage of the season and there not being time to fit in a two legged replay there would be Golden Heats to resolve the tie rather than a replay. So this might have been one of those "make it up as you go along rules and occasions" we keep on seeing on a regular basis. Or the two team managers may get the option to take the meeting to Golden Heats or a replay, who knows? (to be fair who cares?) Regards THJ -

Please Noooooooo!!!!! as much as I dislike Golden Heats (the Speedway version of a penalty shoot out) it gets the meeting out of the way; and ultimately gives a result; Although thinking about it Worky do have Blank dates on the 30th and 31st of this month so it is doable!!! Tonight Scunny Friday off Saturday Lakeside at Rye Sunday Lakeside at DP Monday Lakeside DP double header Tuesday Scunny Cup re-play and Wednesday DP Cup re-play all done and dusted before the 1st of November!!! Yeah!!!! Sold!!! Lets have a rerun. Its the in thing!!! Apparently!!! Regards THJ -

The current Redcar owners don't like Ged (wonder why) and it is alleged that they have said they would rather level the place than let him have it. How much truth there is in that rumour is anyone's guess. However at Scunny on Sunday it was mentioned that Brian Havelock could be being lined up for a return with JD (as co promoter) and young Havvy (team manager) taking on bigger more hands on roles. Not sure how popular that decision would be; or how true it is for that matter; however if it keeps the sport running in Redcar it may be a case of better the devil you know. As it would be a travesty if Redcar didn't run. (and that's from a Geordie) Regards THJ -

Think that might just be Newcastle Marra. Regards THJ -
Here is a daft idea, Why not just let Ged have who he wants as it would appear it is his bat and ball and if he doesn't get his own way he will go home and spit his dummy out taking his bat and ball with him. So how about PETERBOROUGH: 1. Chris Harris 2. Emil Grondal, 3. Tai Woofenden 4. Thomas Jorgensen, 5. Nicki Pedersen (Dane for Dane) 6. Carl Wilkinson, 7. Simon Lambert. At least Lakeside might get a bumper crowd to pay for all the messing around they are getting (and probably still win) As I said just a daft idea, but no more stupid than what is going on Regards THJ

Liam Waite who does the reporting for the local papers will usually talk to Jacko or Laura after the meeting for a quick comment but neither of those two will have crowd information straight after the meeting and the match report goes off PDQ to meet deadlines following the meeting too, so I doubt if it is anything will-full . However if you want crowd numbers; and as I usually get them, come in the bar after any meeting and give me a shout; I will always share what I know. One sad thing was if the Comets match against Lakeside had gone ahead on the Saturday night as planed Liam had said they would not only have had the full back page but the Comets would have been front page headlines as well, that rain really stymied what could have been some great publicity for the club. You know that rain what wasn't predicted anywhere not on anyone's phone app not on the BBC or the usually accurate XC Weather, what a bummer and it just sums up the season really. Regards THJ

Been narrowed down to one suspect and there won't be any Police called to apprehend anyone or to have any offences taken into account, it will be a severe kicking I would suggest, with thieving fingers stamped on with gusto!!! its all they understand, Honestly! More to Follow (Hopefully) Regards THJ
