Neil are you related to Jenga? It's because of Clowns like him there is no future.... Regards THJ

He was told to "go forth and multiply" and started crying like a baby at the gate and soft poop Steve Whitehead let him back in under licence on the premise he made a written apology and "heart of stone" here was screaming at him to smack him in the mouth and chase him an Laura got the casting vote and went with Steve... The other thing was he was hiding behind an assumed name using this anonymity to put forward his malicious content and bile to the detriment of the club... And on your final question is that a Mickey take or What? If I turn up to a Speedway meeting I personally want to see 15 heats of hard close racing with pleanty of passing.... and preferably a 49 - 41 result for my team but I would settle for a 46 - 44 win if push come to shove... What I don't like seeing is lots of falls processional racing and massive one sided humping's of 60 points or more... Unless you are blind no one can tell you what to see (or watch) so sorry I don't get the premise on that one... And surely it's down to your 7 riders as selected by a promotion which you turn up to watch religiously each week as the product you see? How the flock can you be told what to see? Ya not on the old Vino again are ya... Regards THJ

No it was one of a multitude of malicious and wilful actions that were a reletless onslaught on the Denham and Morgan tenures at Derwent Park... he was a one man wrecking crew who made wildly over the top comments and statements that were very personal and wholly untrue and I know he came close on several occasions of being not only banned from the stadium but being prosecuted for libel and slander... he should count himself lucky and shut his hole because if he had of been outed soonet than he was he had some very wealthy people gunning for him who would have taken great pleasure in dragging him through the legal system... unfortunately you don't know the history and you are trying to defend the indefensible the man is a malignant tumour on the bottom of humanity and if you want the "low down" send me a PM but the misanthropic miscreant has had enough air time of me on here and as his life twin Forest Gump was heard to say "that's all I have to say on that"... Don't disagree but there is a right way and a wrong way to raise an issue and you deal face to face... Complaints can be resolved amicably without all the drama... what you don't do is take up a mission on forums to denigrate a whole product or promotion over a cup of tea, making the issue personal on a forum visited by many people is just totally wrong and not giving anyone the opportunity to put the issue right in the first place is gutless and totally out of order as well... it only takes one turd in a swimming pool to put people off and the taint can spread exponentially and look at the size of the pool... its not the first time I have had a duff pint at Brough Park and took it back to the bar and said "summat up with that" and the guys there have been fantastic and changed it straight away without any drama; or my other pet hate a short pull on a pint especially when it would be cheaper to drink Petrol than the beer on sale and look at how hard petrol is to obtain (the other is basically chemicals and water mixed in a bath) Gallon of Petrol £5:86 Gallon of Larger at Brough £29:60 (and I do in two gallon per meeting at least) But what I don't do is come on here and "Bitch and Wine" on how bad it was; Oh I got a short measure; what a bad pint; it was the promotions fault; or it was the biggest travesty since Maradona's "hand of god" goal... it can happen anywhere at any time... All that public bitching and moaning only had to put off half a dozen locals from buying food or one away fan from travelling and the loss it there, and if the away fan is the driver that becomes 4 at £15 quid there's 60 quid for a start and in a sport that is starved of cash its the thin end of the wedge... and the product we are talking about here is the supplementary product not the main event which is the Speedway; and rest assured no one can complain about the product on the track at Worky in their last season because I had been going for the previous 9 years and it was the best it had ever been in 2018, and I defy anyone to say otherwise... So if "the fall in attendances was linked to the product on offer" it certainly wasn't the Speedway that is for sure and which Clown in their right mind highlights the negatives of a product when they know the issues surrounding the product, its like they didn't want the place to succeed; they wanted it to fail; they had/have an ulterior motive... or they are just ignorant and stupid... Oh hang on there's a few of them that fit I would say thinking about it... Regards THJ

This is a very complicated issue (administration); however the Bond paid by clubs is an issue in itself; and in this instance will have been around £10k due to the club having assets that potentially could be set against any loss (by being sold off), however the asset system is flawed, and the club bond was due to rise again in 2019. (maybe due to depreciating assets but I don't honestly know) Now I will happily stand corrected but someone from Lakeside could possibly enlighten us; however I am led to believe that the Lakeside promotion were asked for a £50k Bond in their last season which raised a few eyebrows at the time and when Lakeside closed the Bond did not cover what was owed by the promotion and the BSPA went back for more and were told where to go, now that is a very abridged version of what happened to the Bond in that instance but it does indicate that the Bond offers very little protection and when there are losses and debts wracked up in excess of £100k a 10k or 50k bond doesn't go very far. The business plan; which has been discussed on here in the past; was set out at the start of the season and was fit for purpose, unfortunately or fortunately which ever way you wish to look at things; due to the success of the team; which far exceeded everyone's expectations; just blew the budget apart and where the management failing was IMHO; is that there was not the contingency plan in place to finance a successful team; which may seem ironic as you are in it to win it but the team was never built to be treble winners, however the whole thing gained a momentum which was unstoppable and the cost of that success was never budgeted for... Quite correct the Administrators get their slice of any available cash first; and from experience I can share that our company were hit by the ROK PLC collapse in November 2010 and we were owed some £292k and had to pay £51k of VAT (reclaimed back after 6 month as "Bad Debt") and through consequential losses like having to pay our sub contractors and suppliers we lost another £220k so the impact to this business was in excess of £500k. Now guess how much we got back off those nice people at Price Waterhouse Cooper this February 2019, and yes 2019 that's nearly eight and a half years later, any guesses? £847:68 pence, yep we were awarded something like 0.003 pence for every pound owed and had to be thankful for it... best laugh was PWC bumped us of approximately six quid because they "got their sums wrong" but it would have cost £30 quid to query the error... Correct SS however possibly I would suggest a poor choice of words in "just rewards" as it has cost her an awful lot just to win that treble... but I understand your sentiment.. If the "Non Die Hard Fans" the people who now bemoan the loss of the team/club had of supported the club at home more regularly it may have been a different story now. If the clowns (the so called fans of speedway) who derided not just this promotion but the previous promotions on this site and on the unofficial forum had half a brain cell to recognised the damage they were doing to the club with constant negative posts; maybe if they had been a bit more positive and supportive the thing might still be there/here... When one poor quality cup of tea rumbled on the two forums for nearly 10 weeks into the season absolutely crippling the turnover of the Blue and White Cafe impacting club profits; well... its clowns like that who should look closely at themselves as they have contributed substantially to the demise of the club... which includes the balloon who started this thread and his little gang of "Bum Chums" it absolutely boils my bladder... I got a bad cup of tea and I am very important and demand quality as I am paying to get in and it is awful that the tea wasn't nice and it is a fundamental right that I get a quality cup of tea that I have paid for... Honestly get over it take it back to where you got it from and say "here get this changed or give me my money back" not save it for posterity and moan about it on every platform possible you can... I was fully expecting to see something on the front page of the Times and Star or the local news "crap tea at Derwent Park someone should be flogged" and here's me thinking Monica Lewinsky was sad keeping a dress for nearly 10 year covered in Pineapple (Allegedly) A sport like this and a club like Worky needs a solid fan base... it needs the fans to pull together and get involved and if that is just buying 50/50 or raffle tickets or supporting events put on by the club so be it... but the thing has to make money to run and everyone is aware of the financial constraints. All Keith Denham wanted was to cover his losses, he was happy to put 5 to 10 grand of his own (personal not Armstrongs) cash in to run the Speedway but when the losses started to rise to the £20/30k levels he asked for support, he wanted 100 more people through the door, and what happened? he was absolutely slated off the Worky Troll brigade on both forums... they were instrumental in him walking away; their abuse of a genuine fan of Speedway... I consider myself a "Die Hard Fan" and as someone who sponsored the Comets over 5 seasons and increased my financial input each year until I done a double year sponsorship deal in the last two seasons I am personally devastated at the loss of the club but until the "Clowns" realise; the trolls; who slate or put down the club at every opportunity, until they realise you cant kick a horse down a street then expect to get onto it and ride off into the sunset... it wont happen... "Clowns to the left and jenga to the right" "Trolls stuck in the middle with you!" I hope it does come back and I will support it with cash and all I would ask is "if it does come back can the knob heads who took every opportunity to deride; slag off and generally shaft the previous promotions to either get with the programme and support whatever the new owners are trying to achieved or if it gives you the hump that much just stay away" Whilst I have been doing war and peace this has landed in; and well said; also from one die hard fan to another "never say never" it wont come back to DP that's gone for sure but there is a good guy locally giving it a real go to bring something back; I just hope I live long enough to see it... LOL Soupy got there before me Correct and well said Rant (for now) over Regards THJ

Just a response to a tool from Poole who knows fine well where Steve is going and is just trying to stir the brown stuff... Gloaters Paradise... On the rest of it I don't have any inside craic whatsoever unfortunately... only heard the gossip that is doing the rounds... however I just have a feeling in my water as the saying goes that things are not boding well Let's hope it's a water infection and I'm worrying for nowt... Regards THJ

No... you know fine well he has signed for Poole... Not only will he not be at Newcastle I doubt if anyone else will be either Regards THJ

Yep and if you take that 2.00 as a starting point (rather than the 1.37 Boothers pointed out as the true figure) he still put 1.79 on this 2.00 average which is pretty impressive to me. If all the other Glasgow riders put 1.79 on their combined averages you would have been shouting from the top of every Munro in Scotland after winning all four competitions with a combined team average of over 50.00 from the starting point of 38.00 but they didn't and as history shows Glasgow didn't win anything unfortunately... its harder than you think ask any of the 20+ riders who finished on a lower average than he did... I think the kid has done brilliant this season and will do just as well next... Regards THJ
-
Honestly He nearly doubled his average in what was only his second season in the Championship; Last year at Worky he settled in and visited all the Championship tracks in a competitive environment at the relevant standard and this year at Glasgow I think he done more than expected of him to be fair Whilst I don't disagree with much of what you are saying as Newcastle is probably Kyle's least favourite track closely followed by Edinburgh; and as stated above it is only his second season at this level and he is progressing to be fair which can be seen from the increase in his average. Next year I can see him sticking another point to a point and a half on his current average and continuing his apprenticeship. I believe he will be riding as a competent No 2 in someones championship team by the end of the season and if he does fancy learning on a "Trick Track" I would love to see him at Newcastle. Regards THJ
-
Ha-ha I can confirm I am not doing either Dave and neither is he... the other THJ will be doing Championship I believe and Long Track GP's this year if that tells you anything... ooooooh!!! the intrigue.... Look South but not as far South as Poole, in fact just over half way between Poole and Berwick and you would be nearer the mark... Best of it is the last time I was in Berwick (31/08/19) I spent £450 quid on a night out at the Speedway and in the town; probably doubling the towns GDP turnover in one day and the highlight (not) was going into Bedrocks then into Charlies and then back into Bedrocks!!! and the biggest mistake of the night was leaving the Black and Gold bar as the beer (and the craic) was far superior in there that's for sure... (plus am getting a bit long in the tooth for this nightclub malarkey; as was some of the old farts I was with who shall remain nameless to protect the innocent) Although I did have the pleasure of taking Big Flinty's under crackers off over his head... Ha-ha... apparently he still bares the scars both mental and physical... The irony is I sponsored the meeting that night at Berwick and the drink in the ground was free so how the hell I spent what I did in Berwick is beyond me... I had a weekend in London a few weeks back and didn't spend much more than that over 3 nights where using a £20 pound note you didn't get a note back in your change buying a G&T and a pint of larger... Berwick upon Vegas.... (unless they seen the fat Geordie coming mmmmmm lollollollol (oops sorry) I wonder?) (but like the Cumbrian crowd there are some canny folk up there) Regards THJ

3 out of 7 (for effort) maybe 4.... Regards THJ

Think those you mentioned plus Matej Kus; Kenni Larsen and Jonas Raun are still on the books; I would suggest Steve Park or Tsunami could fill the picture in further better than I could... Regards THJ Oh and what about Claes Nedermark and Anton Rossen?

Sent you a PM to keep this tripe off here...

Honestly More like a "Joker" Regards THJ Oh and on the selection No King; or Worrall as I believe they are off elsewhere and I very much doubt Ulrich will be back either... if we do run you will be counting on Clegg; Wethers and Phillips and possibly the most sensible guess she has made Bukhave who if we do run could definitely be in whatever team is pulled together...
-
To get back on topic The one guy I would consider having back would be forgotten man Paul Starke on a 6.49 average I could see him putting a point on that no problem... although not sure how that would go down with the Glasgow faithful and whether they would want him back but he did have a bad injury which curtailed his season and to be fair he started slow last season (2019) but then started to get his act together only to be crocked when it seemed he was starting to come good... Championship League Team Points Limit
TotallyHonestJohn replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That' is TOTALLY not true either but we wont open that running sore as it has been well and truly done to death on here in the past ... and isn't honest or helpful really as there are still a great many people hurting from the loss of their club... But when you are arguing with an idiot I suppose posting an idiotic response is the go to reaction to try and put over your cause or case however misguided it may be; especially for the good folk on here who may not be fully aware of the truth... Some may even believe you but two wrongs don't make a right... Don't' rise to the bait as all he is doing is "choking the chicken" at the though he is "boiling your pish"... On a genuine point with regard to your last question; the way things collapsed at the start of the season I don't think anyone got anything back (or look likely to if I am totally honest) although there was a promise from the promotion that once the financial mess was sorted there would be a concerted effort to get the fans sorted out too... again all I would say on that is don't hold your breath... Championship League Team Points Limit
TotallyHonestJohn replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Honestly Because there aren't enough riders to go round so the limit needs to be low, otherwise you end up with teams like Newcastle had in the 70's with a team average of something around 55, it just means the wealthy clubs have 4 or 5 heat leaders to the detriment of everyone else; but this is Speedway the where self interest rules... there just isn't the pool of riders to use for the amount of teams we have... 14 teams require 98 riders there are about 60 regular Championship Riders 24 to 30 double uppers and about 10 to 12 two pointers trying to make the jump from the NDL... the supply of riders is barely covering the demand (or need) That's the dilemma the BSPA have that there are not enough (good) riders (or rider's of a competent standard) to go round... This ups the rate for the riders as they (the riders) play one club off against another to maximise their earnings... this impacts the clubs because their isn't the money in the sport as there once was meaning they lose money... the riders hold the power and they need to realise the clubs need to survive to allow them to ride... Its a vicious circle that can only be squared currently by finding more riders at the prescribed standard for an affordable rate that meets a team budget or having less teams... or the teams have (Polish type) cash to spend on bringing in foreigners to the detriment of the Polish Leagues; which won'y happen anytime soon... or if you want to up the points limit reduce the number of teams in each league to around 8 per league and stop or severely restrict doubling up (with a possibility for 1 team up; one down; promotion; relegation, then you can up the build limit)... If Workington hadn't folded at the start of the season it would have left Newcastle in the lurch when Nike Lunna decided he wasn't fit enough to start the season and wanted a year out... The need is to focus on the whole rather than the individual Regards THJ -
Agree with this comment... To me he took Ully's standing leg and was hard done by... if it was the other way round I would been screaming for all 4 back... however it didn't happen but at the end of the day it's down to how the Ref saw it an Ruff agreed with the Ref on the Barker/Phillips decission which I and many others didn't agree with so ya pays ya money and takes ya chance... Ultimately and luckily it had no bearing on the final result as the best team won over the two legs... If either of those incidents did have an impact can you imagine the bloody uproar on here... and that's before Jenga started stirring the shot... It comes to something when the winning team are still moaning after the event... Regards THJ

Championship League Team Points Limit
TotallyHonestJohn replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yep and I personally would give all Brits a reduction to make them a more attractive proposition over foreign riders but let's face it this is the BSPA we are talking about here and if it's not convoluted and complicated it usually won't go in... so the qualifying parameters will be what they will be... however my preference would be to give a 2.5% 5% or 10% reduction to all Brits without some Mickey Mouse rule that has to be complied to just to qualify... So my preference would be give it to everyone or no one just no qualifications... But being a nobody whose opinion doesn't count for crepe what will be will be... Regards THJ -
That and grafting in the track shop were the best shifts he put in all season Regards THJ

Championship League Team Points Limit
TotallyHonestJohn replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Honestly It is potentially going to be either 40 or more probably and realistically 41 points This is going off the suggested Scunthorpe team posted on the Scunny 2020 thread of SCUNTHORPE SCORPIONS 5% British Reduction 1 Josh Auty 7.61 7.25 2 Danny Ayers 5.51 5.25 3 Tero Aarnio 6.85 6.85 4 Thomas Jorgensen 6.47 6.47 5 Jake Allen 7.26 7.26 6 Simon Lambert 5.16 4.91 7 Jordan Pailin 2.00 2.00 Total: 40.86 39.99 Now if that is the Scunthorpe team why those build figures you might ask... Well... if that is the Scunny team you would think someone with the position Rob G holds in the BSPA he may just have an inside edge on the up and coming team build figures. (eh see me thinking here) His proposed team comes out at 40.86 and only sneaks under the 40 point mark (39.99) when the three British rider's who qualify and meet the criteria to receive a 5% reduction have that reduction applied; which as much as I would like to see a reduction on all Brits applied I don't think it will happen... So there you go I would suggest if you want to play the "Build a Team" game; go for 41 points and it wont be far off unless something drastic happens at the AGM, like if teams fold from the Championship (the figure may go up) and who comes up or moreover who if anyone is allowed to come up from the NDL to the Championship as with more teams in the league the figure may go down!!! So 41.... 41.... go for 41.... go on do it 41.... Regards THJ -
Honestly May be because they don't have another 5 names to give!!!! Regards THJ

Berwick, Sheffield and Kent.
TotallyHonestJohn replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yep I think they have only pulled two meetings short this season for reaching the curfew but there were 4 or 5 the season before so they are getting better... They were I believe severely restricted to a strict 6.30 start 8.30 finish which in normal circumstances is long enough to run a meeting but a couple of offs or a bit damp on the track requiring extra grading and there is the potential to lose the last heat or two... You'd think the authorities would be more supportive in what Kent are trying to achieve. But good luck to.them for taking on the challenge and I sincerely hope they do well. Regards THJ -
Berwick, Sheffield and Kent.
TotallyHonestJohn replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Honestly I was just being a bit sarcastic as Kent do have issues getting meetings done and with some of the prima donnas in the top flight stamping their feet when things don't go there way it can string a meeting out... I hope Len Silver can pull it off and it would be a fitting swan song after a long (long) association with Speedway if he could be a sucess in the top league in the twighlight of his years... He's knowledgeable and has vast experience in the sport and if he can sort out the local issues with the relevant authorities they will be a fantastic addition to the Premiership... In fact the more the merrier for me Regards THJ -
This year's team I believe was all down to Martin and unfortunately I can't shed any light whatsoever on wether there has been a change of management or not... few rumours in the bar last night but nothing worth repeating... No doubt it will all come out in time... Regards THJ
