Oh... and that's without a drink... doh...

Sorry been busy As @Neila said New Worky Travel Lodge 10 mins walk to Northside and that's even using the same Zimmer @geoff100 uses and 10 mins walk into town to the main drag for a drink in Worky... Not been since Covid 19 started but there is a Wetherspoons and the run along the main strip in front of the other hotel called The Washington Central Hotel is a good night if you get your timings right as the place is like Whitley Bay in Newcastle every one moves at certain times to the next bar and there are several drinking establishments usually starting at The Curwen; Dukes Bar; 32 Bar; Soul Suite; 2 Bar: Ship Inn: The Well: The Junction; Padua's Bar all within 300 metres then the hotel is about 50 metres away from them all (so no Zimmer required) and the British Legion if you carry a club card or you could stay in the Golden Lion in Maryport and there are 8 bars within 100 meters of that spot with an excellent curry house in the Maryport Tandoori (Ali the owner is a sound guy) but about a 5/6 mile run to the Northside track; however you are more than welcome there if you want to tie in for a beer or two no problem... well that's my bit for the Cumbria Tourist Board... I wont be the team manager we have a young and thrusting young chap lined up for that role... keen as mustard he is... Saturday or Sunday afternoon racing to start with which will be decided at the first Management Committee Meeting in the Golden Lion at Maryport on the 25th of November 2022 and if anyone wants to get any information first hand we will be in the Bar once the meeting is over hopefully by 9pm at the latest... any and all are welcome for a beer... After a fight the Electric Company are putting a transformer back in but we will have to wire up to a feed pillar next to it... Finally cables for floodlights being priced up now however this will be one of the biggest investments we will have to make so maybe not the first season to race under lights but it will come eventually and anyone looking to be a sponsor lets have a chat and anyone wanting to invest lets have a chat and anyone wanting to fund a foray into the Championship lets have a chat as any and every option will be explored... Regards THJ

Crowd size will.dictate that Geoff and with thìs track at Northside you will get some entertainment no matter what the level of rider that is for sure...

Could there be room for a Workington team in the NDL come 2023? Here's hoping!!! There will be a management meeting towards the end of November... fingers crossed... Could be a huge announcement coming that is for sure... Track is ready to go.. Ancillary Buildings; Security and Utilities are the next big challenges to overcome... So get your team requests in now Comets fans as you never know what you could be getting for Christmas... Do "We (still) Believe"? H18tory was made in 2018 and could be made again in 2023... UTC... Oh... thought a heard me name mentioned... -
True...

Well that looks eminently sensible and an honest appraisal however keep your diary free for a meeting early November to discuss the direction for next season... Everything is positive coming out of Northside at the minute and still a lot of graft to put in... However... watch this space... Question is how many fans we attract each week will be critical... 350 would be good 400 better and 500 the dream to start with... obviously the more who attend the better the opportunity of running a successful operation but we ain't looking for thousands... well not to start with anyway... Divide the cost of the ticket by the expected number of home meetings that were covered by the ticket and then multiply this number by the amount of meetings you didn't get to see and this will be roughly what you are owed 180 ticket say ÷ 12 meetings =15 quid per meeting... and if there were 6 home meetings left you are due 90 quid back as a refund... I don't know the exact figures / cost / meetings but it will give you an idea... Beware though because if there isn't enough money in the pot to pay the debtors in full the liquidators / administrator may only have enough funds to pay out say 50 pence in the pound so you will only get half of what you will be actually owed... or in the case we had where we got 0.02 pence in the pound... in that scenario you would only get £1.80 back against the 90 quid (ish) you lost... It was a feeder for Kirklevington Grange detention centre... Borstal's had long gone when I was a kid... Also Axwell Park Approved School and Netherton Park Juvenile Assessment Centre near Morpeth which were the original "bad lads homes" your mother threatened to put you in if you didn't behave... Happy days... Regards THJ -

My School was approved by Her Majesty's Government and was never a Rugby playing school... It started off as Thomas Addison Boys School and become Longbenton High School... no idea what it is called now... but when I was there if you didn't hunt with the pack you got EATEN... not Eton... Wokeism... athletics and swimming meetings are random and drawn by lots... the three rugby matches I was involved in were exactly the same and it was done via a blind raffle with three players drawn to be tested from each team... it was a random raffle draw on a selective few or they had to test everyone taking part which was unfeasible... its done blind so the tester can't be accused of picking on somebody or the sporting federation can be accused of a witchhunt in what is a very litigious society these days... Im only guessing but I suspect Speedway is no different... the anti doping rules are fairly standard... Regards THJ

Well funny you should mention that and I have also been monitoring the HMRC website and not just for this one but for a client we done work for who were on the brink and owed our company money... we couldn't understand what had gone on because very similar to the Diamonds scenario this company went through non payment of VAT... Went pop then were miraculously brought back into being with the same directors and a slightly different company name... and to cut a very long story short the two directors in this case done a deal with HMRC to pay about 90k each off a 286k VAT underpayment... they got a 106k rebate off a bill by stumping up 180k between them... doesn't help us we got hit for 19k once we claimed back the VAT as bad debt... however and to come back to what we might be missing "has a deal been done" because it is the only way you would get away without being prosecuted... and you would never be able to find out unless someone was to freely offer the information... I put the accounts up a long while back for all the expert accountants out their to have their say and not a squeak... the silence has been deafening after all the "Bulls-Squirt" about Honest George and how he would never leave a £158k VAT bill as he was too honest for that... which we now all know is true... yet the information in the form of the last accounts was handed to these clowns on a plate and nothing... You are spot on with your analogy and everything you have said is correct... The Go Fund Me pot and Directors Loan account are one and the same I would suggest (until proved otherwise)... The Go Fund Me monies were spent however they have never been identified (yet) on any accounts? funny that eh? could it be that JER is saying the Go Fund Me monies were his and that he put that cash in? something that the cynic might put forward as an argument... as technically he did...we gave it to him and he put it into the club!!! and what about the near £30k plus brought in for the last ever (sic) meeting at Brough Park against Brum? where is that or the "super duper" investment deal and sponsorship? All "Bulls-Squirt" I think (but cant honestly remember) that the liquidator has to provide a closing set of accounts... those will make interesting reading especially with all the tractors; plant and gear that is being sold for cash in hand from the stadium... "Who said VAT" oops I mean that... "Who said That" Roll up roll up Shale for Sale quid a bag... Regards THJ -

Hello @Winditon what was the GDPR like on your email were you one of 45 or so other names all copied into the same email or were you "blind copied" into it? and unable to see anyone else's name. Under GDPR you may have a claim as your privacy has been breached. All those sent an email should have been "blind copied" in. There has been a breach in the GDPR regulations as everyone else on that email has had there information shared with each other and therefore breaching their anonymity and right to privacy. If this was the case it may well be worth having an online chat with the ICO https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ and see what the position is... If your GDPR has been breached then its just adding insult to injury... this is the next big thing for solicitors on the no win no fee merry-go-round after Will contesting and especially now that the ambulance chasers have been shut down... Might have to take that up with the liquidators if what I am hearing is correct... In other words I doubt there will be a refund... hopefully it's wrong but let's wait and see... Regards THJ -
It would be nice to know.. and you have a valid answer above.. quite a few make a full time living out of Speedway however I am hearing that more and more riders now are taking second jobs in the UK... so the honest answer from me is I dont know but I know a few who have very supportive families who pump in thousands to keep the dream alive... they call themselves full time Speedway riders but if it wasn't for the families they could never earn enough to eat let alone run two bikes... Regards THJ
