Think you will find that there will be a reduction in the build limit for 2021... Ergo the teams will not be the same... Unless your team was two three or four points under the original build limit of 41... As an educated guess the new build limit could be anything from as low as 34/35 to 38/39 depending on rider availability... Regards THJ -

Oh Brough.... right... Paul Daniels Ken Dodd!!! you need to take the methanol out the back of the vehicle mate the fumes are "puggling" your brain cells all one of them; and I know you only have one brain cell as Ruff Diamond told me if you had one less brain cell than you have now you would not have any at all... Good lad that Ruff... knows his stuff does Ruff... Regards THJ -
Well here we go (where's Dandelion) it's another Newsflash Scoop... Get your ridiculous suggestions at the ready as I have just been advised this morning I am saving myself some sponsorship monies this year as Ondrej Smetana has now been told he wont be coming to Newcastle in 2021... I would suggest that this decision is due to the fall out from Nick Skorja racing in Poland and is also now not coming to Newcastle. I imagine the promotion have a "Plan B" but talk about tough decisions... It would appear wheels are in motion behind the scenes and it is going to be very interesting to see what comes out of this total "Cluster Flock" that Covid; Brexit and the Poles have caused and I am now thinking British Speedway will be absolutely FUBAR once all these issues are ironed out... hopefully they will come out the other end stronger and more fit for purpose... (Hopefully) and with a product that people will be able to get behind and support... Pleased I bailed out when I did... Good Luck to Rob Grant and his team and I will still be one of the first in the queue when we get going again... Regards THJ

Sorry not me; I have never been to the bar at Brought.... in fact I have never been to Brought? I once refereed a rugby match at Broughton Park and got exceedingly drunk after it; due to some fantastic hospitality and I cant remember seeing you there? Your recollection of events must be dimmed by your predilection to liking a pint or two of meth's as you advised earlier, which is also confirmed by your statement that the late Paul Daniels was great... you need to stop drinking mate Regards THJ -
Due to the lack of available riders there will be a cut in the team build points level next year for sure... probably in both leagues but definitely in the Championship. This will mean every team loses at least one rider from last years selected seven in the resulting reshuffle and depending on how deep the cut is in the point build level it could be more than one change. Then on Jan 1 because of Brexit all overseas riders will require a tier 2 Visa which will be an extra cost for clubs to cough up which will be an issue for many clubs (maybe not Glasgow) but at around 1500 quid for an initial 3 year Visa it's a other cost for hard up clubs to stump up... Finally the way Poland are making demands on the riders riding in their leagues it will totally screw the leagues in the UK unfortunately reducing rider availability for selection in UK teams. Only my humble opinion but we will see how accurate my predictions are in the coming weeks (maybe sooner) Regards THJ

Hey man that's a big secret that no one is supposed to know about... where's that in the SS... Regards THJ -
As honourable as this is/was I honestly believe this team will now change for 2021 without a shadow of doubt... In fact no team will run in 2021 with the side that was originally selected for the 2020 season... in either league... Regards THJ

It didn't help Workington either and the Friday was only their alternative night to run... Regards THJ

Hi TG hope you are well.. Current Covid guidelines mean funeral ceremonies must have no more than 30 people attending, whether indoors or outdoors. This number does not include funeral staff but if anyone was popular or has a large family it proves very difficult for anyone to pay their last respects to the deceased... Sooner this vaccine gets rolled out the better and we get back to some sort of normal... even for something like sad occasions like these... Regards THJ

Well the way riders are signing for Polish teams and with other riders who are falling by the way side it looks like the 16 names Rob Godfrey has come up with might just come in handy eh... Wonder if he can conjure up another 16 British names of say riders who have retired in the last 10 years and we can run a blended league of young kids and veterans... Names on a post card... Joe Screen. James Grieves. Stuart Robson. Adam Roynon. Lee Complin. Paul Clews. Andrew Tully. The Branney Boys. Jamie Courtney. Craig Watson. Gary Irving. Leigh Lanham. Dsvid Howe. Paul Cooper. Chris Schramm... There ya go 16... and there are many more... just to stir things up a bit like... Regards THJ -
Aye a suppose ya right... at least we had pen's an paper to write with... that Walker lot used slates and nails... they needed a wheelbarrow to take thier homework to an from School... Regards THJ

Hahaha aye Longbenton Approved School... oops a mean high school... if you didn't hunt with the pack you got eaten alive... literally... Happy days as a misanthropic miscreant who progressed into the LBAB and become a football hooligan bouncing around on the Leases End Terraces... I was a total tool and probably not changed much over the years but I think I have definitely mellowed... probably grew up properly when my first child was born... I had a good run but I have been know to fall off the wagon occasionally... Regards THJ

Honestly I only do that to try and raise your intellectual esteem and educational standards you wooden headed Walker misanthopic miscreant... xxx Regards THJ And there he goes googling misanthropic miscreant... lol

To be honest I think this year would have been the last one of the three agreed by the previous promotion so RG has got them to extend it for this coming year and to be fair I think he would like a longer term rather than being on a year by year lease but with the whole world being upside down who knows what the future holds... Ya not wrong and you have to empathise with him after all the crepe he has had to put up with and having still not turned a wheel in anger he's hanging in there when most mere mortals would have been heading for the hills long ago... Keep fighting the good fight RG you'll get that 90th anniversary meeting on some day... or maybe a 95th eh... Regards THJ

Yep Newcastle will still be at Brough next year but if you know where there's 12 to 20 acres of land on the outskirts of Newcastle please contact the management... Regards THJ

I certainly rolled over my sponsorship package but I have no idea how many season ticket holders did the same. Not everyone is in the same boat and I can understand if anyone wanted to claim back their season ticket cash I wonder if Rob Grant knows which one of the ten mirrors he must have broke which is bringing all this bad luck What a palaver!!! Oh there's a thought for a replacement wonder what Victor is doing? Regards THJ

Think you could be correct there pp... The premiership need to sort out what they are going to do with the potential loss of riders (Not just Brits) to Poland... The impact come Jan 1 and Brexit... and what implications this will have on bringing riders in... work permits and the additional costs associated with this.. Continued Covid restrictions not just on travel but crowd sizes as I have heard clubs who use dog tracks will initially only be allowed to let 350 spectators in... so to make it pay the entry fee will need to be at least 20 quid... also how quick can they roll out a vaccine... So the build point level gets reduced to what 39 or 38 which is fair play but the club's have said they would try and commit to their original teams as selected from 2019 but have the riders reciprocated or are they going to go mercenary... Newcastle have lost one for sure to Poland and Birmingham also to HMP Service so they have an immediate requirement then who else isn't going to come back... So a points reduction means each team will lose a rider and a mini reshuffle will take place... Personally I think it will end up a right mess... hopefully not but I am not holding out much hope Regards THJ

That wouldn't be a reference to me old pal Matej Kus would It? You'll be telling me Stuart Robson is also being considered next... Ludde springs to mind but once Brexit kicks in he will need a work permit as will all Europeans come January 1st... The whole thing is a mess to me... and it's all going to bag-wash... Regards THJ
-
So we are already looking at two riders eh... what with Brexit... Covid... and Poland... added to us being a Sunday track... there can't be a very long list to choose from... I certainly don't envy the job the promotion have... Like I said earlier I was genuinely looking forward to seeing our original team of seven perform in the Championship... This won't be the last change I fear... to Newcastle... or for any of the other teams in our league for that matter... Regards THJ
-
Well another fly in the ointment Nick Skorja ain't coming next season unfortunately To be fair I was really looking forward to seeing him ride round Brough... The hunt is on for a replacement Somehow I don't think he will be the last change. . Regards THJ

That's the thing... it ain't hearsay... Regards THJ

Honestly I find your naivety in these matters quite charming however you seem to infer that I am factually inaccurate with what I am saying... well rest assured when it all comes out I will refer back to this to confirm what I am saying is in fact correct... boy will I refer back... I have been involved financially with Newspeed and Newcastle Speedway since 2008 and I have been with my/our mutual accountant since 2006 and the accountant (who used to sponsor heat 4 and sometimes heat 2 at Brough for many years) had done the club's accounts from 2003 so my knowledge on the liquidation of Newspeed is reasonably accurate... You question my figures... however it's a well known fact that I was genuinely interested in firstly supporting the club financially when Alan Hedley left and done some "due diligence" on the club... following meetings with the main protagonist who wanted me to blindly put thousands of pounds into the club without any checks, ballances or govenance... so I decided that was to much of a risk and backed off... especially when I found a black hole in the accounts and I could not get an answer (any answer) to my questions... so much so that after that meeting I was actually ostracized by Gru and his minions... they actually stopped speaking to me and I had to pay my club sponsorship through a third party who took a fee off them for collecting it... (nuts) Then when the place came on the market I considered buying the club... however I was told that... "this may not be the best thing to do"... in fact the actual words were "don't touch it with a barge pole" as things transpired that was excellent advice... Finally on the figures quoted and what one might expect as to a punishment... if it is deemed as willfull avoidance rather than incompetence... it can been seen by reading some of the cases on the link below what can be doled out... https://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/hm-revenue-customs-hmrc/latest_news/tag/vat See some of the fines quoted for avoidance... and if you want to you can dodge paying VAT for years... it's only when you get caught the problems start... the company are responsible for paying VAT not the accountant... whether you are registered for VAT or not... unless instructed of course and that's normally for sole traders not companies... You seem to be one of these guys who needs a smoking gun before they believe the inevitable that they have actually been shot... so keep watching and when it goes "PoP" I will point it out to you... As for what I am saying there is already enough evidence to show that the gun is smoking... there has been no over or under declaration on the VAT it's just the fact that I don't believe it has been paid (for years) and you notify quarterly not six monthly it's 3 month in arrears and what about Christmas Party ticket sales Season Ticket sales Merchandise which are all procured during the off season and of course prior to the season starting Sponsorship which all should include VAT... Regards THJ

I'm pleased to see that you think they have used a reputable firm of accountants as I have used the same one man band company to do my accounts for the last 15 years and to be fair he isn't that bad so you have recognised that at least... and he was the first guy I spoke to when I was 1. Looking to invest in Newspeed and then 2. When I was considering buying Newspeed... and he gave a very honest assessment hence Rob Grant got burnt and I didn't If not paying the VAT man and leaving a new promoter with unpaid bills from the previous season after telling him that everything was paid up and there was nothing outstanding doesn't Sully or Besmirch the seller of the business then I don't know what does? I have a reasonable understanding of what has gone on and it's a disgrace... pure and simple... If my assumptions are correct and Newspeed was Liquidated for none payment of VAT then there is enough on there to indicate turnover and my calculations are from this and the knowledge I have from running a business... also it's usual for business of this size and with their turnover to be responsible for filling out their own VAT return... If I'm wrong I will apologise on here unreservedly... however I am pretty confident I am right... Regards THJ

Honestly If you understand your way around a set of accounts all the information is there in front of your eyes... https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/04865297 All the information is out there... all the substance you require... all you need to do is look... Do you doubt the figures I am suggesting... 8 year at 20k a year is your 160k which is only 5k a quarter... then look on the Tax and Vat web site about the fines... Your beloved former leader is in a whole world of poop I would suggest and he will have to come up with some good excuses to worm his way out of this... Or at least better than the lies I got in the Costa Coffee opposite the Civic Centre... Regards THJ
