  1. Around 13.5 for foreign riders which goes up to 13.84 for Brits with the deduction applied Regards THJ
  2. Once these guys pay their cash on the gate do they then sign in for track and trace (or use the NHS app to sign in on their phone)? The original issue at Birmingham for ARC was once people paid on the gate a pinch point was caused in the stadium with fans having to sign in and social distancing went right out of the window... If fans are being allowed in anywhere without using a track and trace system the venue are breaking current Covid regulations... If this is the case it also shows the disparity in how different local authorities are managing the process... it also shows the benefits of owning (or having control) of your own stadium and not having a landlord imposing further restrictions on your operations Regards THJ
  3. With only 300 tickets sold of the 660 available those sold out areas must be full... Are people expecting rain? Looking at the forecast the morning will be damp but the rest of the day will be dry and fine (famous last words) however folks need to know 300 paying customers doesn't sustain even this team so it needs a show of support and people need to get behind this promotion if not the team because it will go... I'm not sure people appreciate what a precarious position this club is in... It a throw away comment but if you don't use it you will lose it and no amount of crowd funding will bring it back... Regards T HJ
  4. You have right up to 13.00 hours (1 PM) tomorrow to get tickets... Regards THJ
  5. Think the rain clouds are just hanging over Rob Grant at the minute but after the success of the just giving fund raiser we might just be able to stand him up dust him off and clear some of those grey skies away... let's turn that upside down frown into a nice big smile... An now am off to be sick after all that sugar.... Regards THJ
  6. Yep @Terrace Grumbler just another one of the @Dandelion fan club x Regards THJ
  7. Brilliant that mind I am well impressed... Well done and you can always keep going it will all be welcome... Regards John
  8. Well just made my donation to help boost the fund and I would love to see us get over that 8k mark Good luck in all your endeavours Regards THJ
  9. Help required Was heat 15 of the Gems match awarded with no time or was there an actual finishing time for the race? If so can anyone like me know what the time was for that heat? (15) Regards THJ
  10. Hey I'm quite happy with the sauce... Especially when it comes in pints... Regards THJ
  11. Financially Critical.... just checked my bank account from the Edinburgh meeting and my bar bill to Team Greyhound (ARC) was £142:30 and there was another £19:50 on the way home in the Powder Monkey with Messrs Barker and Aarnio… if it does go I will save a fortune that is for sure... Regards THJ
  12. Honestly... totally valid point IMO too Whoa there Biffa steady on; that novelty will never wear off on this fat lad... Tell ARC racing as they are also setting their own rules on top of Local Government and Boris and it is more work and I am not sure it is worth it to be fair; however if people had of got the vaccine when they were told and done as they were told from day one and stayed away from each other we may have been further done the track (pardon the pun) but they cant follow rules and its a mental block many Brits have; do you not realise we have won two world wars (and one world cup) to have these freedoms... please don't get me started... but while I am here... if we started testing prior to meetings at Brough you would still get somebody coming up at the last minute before tapes up and expect you to wait until their test results come through... then it will be oh two hours to run a meeting how awful... nearly a good idea but not really... Think again cos it ain't Archie... Regards THJ
  13. NDL wouldn't be sustainable at Newcastle for the reasons you have put... the fixed costs would kill it... rent; medical; security etc... the way speedway is going if you don't have your own stadium its not sustainable unless you can guarantee the crowds which are also dying on their proverbial backsides so what can the promotion do? they cant go out and drag people in off the streets and then you will have the "I really miss the Speedway now its gone" brigade spouting off on here... well if you don't attend that's what happens as I have been through this before with Workington... people need to get off their backsides and come along... buy a ticket and give this new promotion a chance... if you sit back and wait for a final of some description like many fair-weather Worky fans did rolling up for finals and packing the place out for one night but not bothering throughout the rest of the year is no good... if you don't buy stuff from a corner shop it shuts that's business I'm afraid... So Ice the job until July 19th and then give it a go... but will one of the restrictions that remains in place after this date be track and trace rules so everyone has to sign in or use an app on there phone; or will it still be on line booking... its just another hurdle to put people off to me but the situation isn't very good at all... and I am only guessing what might happen but I cant honestly see the government just saying on July 19th... Jobs a good un people fill ya boots everything is back to normal... carry on regardless!!! Regards THJ
  14. Don't think he was ever going to come to Newcastle as I had heard his lad is in a competition that day and he was going to go with him... not sure how true that was but it came form a good source... Bjarne will be a good attraction if the meeting runs... Regards THJ
  15. So it looks like we are getting a replacement for Joe at No7... sad state of affairs... and now Wolves have put their licence on ice whose next? Its something that maybe Rob should consider... Regards THJ
  16. Honestly I think there will be some form of restrictions to live with until next spring and maybe longer... face masks and social distancing will be around long after these restrictions are lifted... this is the new normal possibly... and we are going to have to get on with it... Regards T HJ
  17. Bottom line is this... 120ish tickets sold and 92 season ticket holders whose money was lost on the liquidation will just about pay for the stadium rent and the medical cover... The Gems might go before this meeting... there are some difficult and potential costly decissions to make unless there are another 400 tickets sales pulled in Father's Day or not. Regards THJ
  18. He doesn't get the money off trybooking until the meeting has been completed and confirmed as done... if it doesn't run they refund the money back the club don't get anywhere near it otherwise... Regards THJ
  19. First off are you on the drink? Its hard to tell with you being so illiterate... if so go to sleep we are trying to have a sensible conversation on here and you and sensible are two words that don't go together... Second off I had an agency call me today for a reference for you... Told them you were smart intelligent dashing and handsome and the woman said I'm just looking for an HGV driver not someone to marry... so good luck on the job front... Finally you have just text me aswell and no "on ice" "gone" unless there is someone out there who wants to take it on If Rob got 800 to a 1000 fans saying Monday he would give it a go in the current environment Steve or moving could be back on the cards because ARC are being total pains.. Good point TG never thought of that... Didn't stop near 650 of them last Sunday... Do you really... some valid points but I have my doubts... Spot on and good point bit the kids could always come with the dad for a day out... This meeting is definitely running and if it got rained off you get your cash back straight away... the booking company are independent and don't release the money until the meeting has been completed so it's as good as being in the bank... Regards THJ
  20. Need to read it again HT and I totally agree there is a great deal of difference between the guys you mention and others as I did say "like for like" changes on the management committee... does the mafia ever give up their control... the good guys; the guys who do the right thing dont get a look in unfortunately then they get disallusioned and leave the sport or take a back seat and their enthusiasm ideas and drive are lost to the sport... Regards THJ
  21. Just had a very disconcerting phone call and folk need to make the most of this meeting because it could be the last... Goodbye Newcastle Diamonds we had a good run... and I'm not the guy to run it or take it on because I don't have the temperament to deal with all the baggage that comes with the job... the best man is in there now... by a mile... However a quick question needs answering though... why after 20 months of no Speedway are fans not supporting the club... every one is aware of the financial constraints the club finds itself in and a very good looking Leicester team are coming to town yet ticket sales are flat lining... The first meeting against Edinburgh was a near sell out bar 8 tickets... 642 fans through the door and it was a great day with the weather behaving itself the crowd were praised for following all the rules which weren't too onerous to be fair and there were 2 very good meetings and the only thing that spoilt the day was the main result but these things happen... All you got for 20 months was "can't wait till the Speedway starts" not bothered about the team just want Speedway... so the weather forecast for this Sunday is spot on and due to be another glorious day with a good team in town in Leicester... Newcastle have a good guest in Steve Worrall and a potential team change lined up so what I can't understand is the apathy from the Geordie faithful... what is wrong... 20 quid too much to get in because it looks like the first action is going to be the cutting loose of the Gems team so that will bring the admission price down to 17 quid... shame but what's the promotion supposed to do... and 20 quid for 30 heats is the cheapest in the league but the Gems will be the first casualty if the situation doesn't pick up... Team rubbish? Well bit disrespectful to the current septet however the promotion recognise that they are a good few under the points limit and are committed to strengthening when riders become available... BWD was offered a fantastic deal but said he didn't like the Newcastle track and thought it would be a detrimental step in his career progression... personally I think it would be the making of him but he wasn't up for it and the promotion couldn't do no more... when other riders become available there will be changes Rob Grant stands by his team but if they aren't performing Rob knows it's an entertainment business... If feasible do we try and change the race night... Is it because ther is free football on the telly... Is it because people don't like the on line booking system... Are people worried if there is a rain off they might not get their cash back because I can confirm my U21 meeting monies were back in my bank within 48 hours... so what... What... what is wrong... and it's an often used analogy but if you don't use it then you will lose it... simples Anyone with any ideas I would love to hear them as 800 smoggies per meeting at Redcar with full houses 30 miles down the road... that cant be all the George English fan club ditching there own club surely... Sorry but folk need to know what the current situation is... Sincerely John...
  22. Whist I fully agree with your sentiments Dave and think you are correct... the only issue I see with a change in management is you change with like for like people with the same blinkered mind-set; we have had several changes in management just in the last 10 years but nothing has changed unfortunately; as it still ends up with the self interest mentality and protectionist values... the whole of Speedway needs to change not just the Management Committee of the BSPL They need to implement a set of rules and stick with them instead of abdicating authority everyone needs to sign up to a charter to say that they will stick to them with the best interests of the sport as the basis and work for the common good of all concerned and if promotions cant do that then the punishments need to be severe and I mean severe... oh hang on European Football Super League on a miniature scale hrmmm and what made that lot change People Power and what will make this lot change; nothing because the lunatics are running the Asylum and they are all locked in safe and secure... But when its gone or run into the ground then what; they will cry and say people/fans didn't support it and folk on here will say we told you so... Back to the usual impasse Regards THJ
  23. I would be very worried if I was a Poole fan... Regards THJ
  24. Aye Steve and your lot may be next unfortunately.... Regards THJ
