True... That's the issue though as they have become untouchable... even the Police don't bother with them... it seems to be an uneasy truce... if they keep their heads down and don't cause to many problems the Police give them a wide berth.... as someone has already mentioned we had something similar with a sub contractor drainage guy who had his van and gear stolen however because it was specialist stuff it had to be insurace tested and all the serial numbers logged... he found out someone was selling his gear on eBay and he went along and confirmed it was his then rang the Police and the Police said was it insured and when he said yes they said well best if you don't cause a scene and move on... when he said he used this kit on a weekly basis and it would take 3 or 4 month to replace and he couldn't work without it the Police said just claim loss of earnings of the insurance as well... when he said that wasn't the point and were they going to do anything about it they said no... His insurance premiums trebled from 600 quid to 1800 a year... they are a law unto themselves... and that was the scum at the Lemington site on the outskirts of Newcastle... Regards THJ

Well you did get a cryptic warning on Friday and the trouble has reared its head Its been a site for many a year but now the council want to do something with it they got shipped out and they don't like it Yep and a particularly nasty bunch this lot apparently There had been an exclusion order placed on the site with Red boundary lines set up and unfortunately the council? police? (someone?) failed to renew this exclusion order and it run out (Friday I believe)… so they are back... Good idea but cost starts to be an issue Yep I will second that... As it happens this lot are a nasty bunch so I have been told (particularly nasty) and although I have seen nothing in the local press yet they apparently mugged someone at knife point at a cash machine last week I have offered as it happens.. but it was politely declined (at present)… Regards THJ

Age Singy13 don't believe it... you don't look a day over 45... and yes it is/was the tiny training track that has been modified and enlarged somewhat in exactly the same place... A596/A597/Northside Road Roundabout and you want the turning off that roundabout to the Workington Shore Car Park and park along there where the wood yard is and the gates will be shut but you don't need to be a limbo dancer to get under them... then just walk down to where the old Northside Training Track was and view the new one... take ya wellies because as the saying goes its very "Clarty" and you wont need a signpost once the place is opened out you will know where it is... just the old memory not as sharp due to all these lock downs and restrictions... Works are tending to take place on the weekends and to be fair the guys are happy to talk to anyone if they introduce themselves and you can take a look without getting in anyone's way on the banking but the place is very muddy at present... Err No... or maybe for a considerable fee then maybe yes... Correct... Same site just now with a much larger footprint and the new track has been built over the top of the old one and is really starting to look the part now for sure Regards THJ

No white lines today unfortunately... job was abandoned... rain and snow stopped play... however I popped down today before going to another call out in Durham and in the hour and a bit I was there the lads had put down 180 ton of shale... in fact the shale was going on the track that fast Steve Lawson was struggling to keep up grading it in... however knowing Steve as I do and him being a bit of a perfectionist that surface will be spot on come next March... all 1200 ton or so of it... Regards THJ

Tell you what Neil Arsenal will be up for it after losing last week but the Toon are erratic enough to win this... It could be 3 or 4 one to the Gooners or a 1 nill win for Newcastle... forever the coupon spoilers are Newcastle... However it will be the craic and the liquid refreshment that I will be enjoying just as much or if not more than the football. Regards T HJ

Av just drove 90 mile from Maryport to Killingworth in Newcastle 2 hours in 100 mile an hour winds bleaching down with sleet an ice with about 15 or 16 trees down from Carlisle Campus all the way accross the A69 on the east bound lane to sort an old gals electrics out which had tripped and couldn't be reset... av just filled up and I'm now going to drive the 2 hours back in worsening conditions... So yes tomorrow I will be in Minshaws in Maryport from 12 ish with my feet up and a pint watching my team probably getting humped off Arsenal and giving the landlord all of this call out money I have just made... If I get back alive that is... Oh and the morning telly was the first Look North report at about 06.30 this morning when I was on my way out to work and I'm still at it... you cheeky bone idle lazy work shy Cumbrian knut... If you want a pint Maryport tomorrow 12.30 till late I'm buying... Regards THJ

Not sure a Berwick fan will be too bothered about the outcome of that contest Regards THJ

Just park at the barrier opposite the timber yard and walk along the road as the site is fairly open at the minute... Regards THJ

No.but see below... and there was a bit of history when Worky were blocked using a Friday as there second night in the last season they run and these Cumbrians have very long memories... no matter what league they are in... True... and another night is not inconceivable however Saturday was thought to be the best option because of the other sports that are popular in the town and they dont want to clash with anyone but it is still open to debate... Looks like you will be getting your wish Mike... Regards THJ
-
Well there is a debate to be had on this one Geoff... Saturday as per DP and under lights is favourite like in the good old days... however there are some fans saying that Sunday tea time may be a better shout after the Reds play... We know Fridays are a non starter and no one seems really keen on a midweek night... So as things stand my best guess is Saturday nights are odds on favourite... Regards THJ

So the starting tapes will be on the feint line where the blue container is; you will be able to stand from that container to the first bend where it is being proposed to put 600 seats then carry on to the second bend where you will be able to stand and that is also where the pits will be. On the back straight there will be another 600 seats with standing either side of this seated area to the third bend. https://www.bordergroupltd.com/grandstands-for-sale/ might give an idea but without a canopy at present and the tractor park will be on the 4th bend. Does that help... Regards THJ

Andy is a good guy with some great ideas for a fully inclusive motor park so everything from stocks and speedway to lawnmower and Motability scooter racing; training track facilities for kids and adults an external BMX track the works and nothing is off the table at the moment he is really making a go of it.. and hopefully it will be fully self financing Regards THJ

Firstly I have one more picture to load for those who don't have Facebook access and yes Craig Branney did run the old Northside training track for a period when he hung up his steel shoe and Craig encountered similar problems to those that Andy is experiencing now with theft and vandalism at the site which I think ultimately sickened Craig. Andy Bain is developing the site and he is currently negotiating a lease with the local authority who along with the local MP have been fairly supportive in his endeavours. It would have to be a CH-47 Chinook to get this old lump off the floor these days and I couldn't afford the train fare to get you from Chichester to Workington to power a hot air balloon for me gazzac if we could get one big enough that is to get me off the ground and to fit your head in; so one of those little drones with a camera on was used I believe and the quality of the pictures is quite good to be fair Regards THJ
