The last 90 ton that went on was a clay and granite mix. At the moment the inside isn't going as slick as before and as a result there is still a lot of grip when riding the track around the inside hence the times are quick. It actually according to the riders needs a bit of old style shale on it to allow the inside to slicken off a bit during the meeting and allow more of a dirt line to develop, so there is a benefit of going out wide. The track is super smooth at the moment but the top surface could do with a little tinkering with to develop it to suit the group of riders you have. At the moment it's a little too like Kings Lynn. Which is hardly a surprise. Hope fully there will be an appetite to get the tracks character back by modifying the top surface over the coming weeks. Heat 14 against Poole perfect example, Aaron gates and clamps the curb, Charles comes round the outside to join him, can't quite get there over the first lap as the speed difference isn't enough, (and you would expect Wrighty to be as quick as anyone on the outside late in the meeting) ends up tucking in behind Aaron and they both pull away from the Poole riders by riding a pretty narrow line. In the Past you would have either been on the fence or have your front wheel on the grass. Early days, I think the track is better than before, and Buster has used materials he knows well, which is no surprise. Now he needs to allow the track to develop so it's different from Lynn, not the same

Probably not as much, no, But he did shepherd Jack Smith around Sheffield last year in a very similar vein

For me Chris is still one of the top 5 riders in the world on natural ability. It's always been the other bits that have let him down. On Ability he's the best rider in this league bar none. The more he can involve people like Matt Read in his backroom staff the more his results will improve.

He averaged more than harris last season, so it wouldn't stun me

Nobody needs to sign a contract when they buy a happy meal from you,

Leicester vs Scunthorpe CS 06/04/19
wtf replied to IainB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think people will see what they want to see to a degree. Scunthorpes faithfull who are used to seeing a lot of passing week in week out will have seen it as a processional meeting, whereas those used to the FTG Leicester stuff will have seen a much better meeting than usual. I guess it depends what you are used to. It was a better than usual meeting at Leicester and provided more entertainment than usual, but it certainly wasn't like what was served up the night before. -
Redcar Vs Sheffield CS 5th April 2019

Good luck trying to get Ty to be a bit calmer. Team managers have been trying to get that for the last 10 years without any success. -
Peterborough v Belle Vue PSC - Mon 1st April
wtf replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't understand how the race format changed anything. in the normal league format the opposition 1&5 are out in 7 of the first 13 heats then both probably in heat 15? -
No the track wasn't too grippy, it was the smoothest and most consistent it has been for many years and as such produced racing where very few mistakes were made. The problem for Panthers was that Belle Vue had a very good top two who got out the starts better and were not going to be caught easily from there. The starts were a bit different from press and practise so the home riders had to adapt a bit more there, but generally Belle vue were better from the start and didn't make mistakes. If Lasse had scored 4 point panthers would have won the meeting, but hey don't let that stop the doom and gloom merchants from predicting the end of the world. They are a heat leader and 3 points short, which is a shame because Charles will score like a heat leader at home all year, and coming from 2nd string that's where the strength is. Over the next few weeks I reckon Panthers will look for a permanent replacement at heatleader. During this time they can have a look at the bottom 3 and see who is performing best

Haha, I believe the saying is...….. Don't believe everything you read in the papers. I think there is some reverse engineering going on
-
Signing on fees (what's left of them) are not usually paid until the start of the season, so I doubt anyone will have had anything out of either club yet
-
It's a real shame what has happened, but in any walk of life once you introduce human beings you introduce a tendency for greed. There will always be those who get round the system. Introduce a set rate and people will be handing out brown envelopes left right and centre. Same in Poland right now. There is the PZM agreed rate for each league and then the "top ups" When the riders aren't getting paid, they go to the PZM and the best they will get is their agreed rate. Personally I think anyone looking to be a full time professional in the National League only is wrong. It should be a hobby which also goes someway towards financing itself. But the league has been screwed up for some time. I remember in 2012 a reserve rider at a club "overseas" being paid twice what a number 1 rider was being paid. Everything gets ruined when you introduce humans
-
I think there's a very good chance Bomber will spend time at reserve next season
-
I think the funny bit is that his replacement cost more money than he was asking for, but some people at the club still see him as a £40 a point reserve from 2013.
-
And Charles will, be at Redcar
-
It wouldn't surprise me if their was some sort of deal in place whereby Paco cost Birmingham very little. The Costagna family may well be funding his latest British adventure.
-
I think Craig will have re-aligned his income expectations more in line with Buster's thinking, after the prospect of not having a ride in the top division. Don't think the team is anywhere near as expensive as you may think
-
Get ready for your surprise, because Jorgenson will be in the team and I doubt PUK will be in the UK...……………..in my opinion
-
Richie Worrall has a very strong connection with the manager
-
Not sure anyone in the UK can afford what Pawlicki thinks he's worth
-
Don't think Woryna will be back
-
Think you'll find Doyle has a lot more time for Batch than for Morris
-
I think the season will revolve around whether Danny King is fit and recovers his form

THJ riding in UK in 2019 ?
wtf replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He can ride a bike, just a bit of a box of frogs between his ears -
I would be pretty confident about K Bjerre being at Belle Vue rather than elsewhere. He might seem nailed on for being elsewhere by some, but I think he'll be in Manchester. I also think he'll go through the card on his first away visit to P'Boro
