I think Jack is going to be very difficult for Lynn to replace this season. Which is a shame, because they are pretty solid through out. Anders is far too good for British speedway. In his own mind anyway
-
so you are already expecting the meeting to be a waste of money and a borefest? working on the basis that people usually "see what they want to see" I'd give it a miss if I were you, because I expect you'll be disappointed.I think the Gin and Tonic will be better value

He reminds me a little of David Hemsley at Leicester. Got to do things HIS way, won't listen to advice, but enjoyed very much being the saviour.

I wasn't that surprised to see that Team USA wannabe manager Lawrence Rogers booked Team USA wannabe rider Ricky Wells.

in a word, yes

That's a terrifying thought to 90% of speedway fans. Most of them are still peed off that Barry Briggs has retired and they've stopped selling dandelion and burdock.

I'm pretty sure with the talent on this forum, within the next 24 hrs we could have it 100% confirmed by someone's best mates brothers uncle, who knows a man who knows stuff, That Aaron only signed for Oxford because he was being given 12 bikes 23 engines, a penthouse flat in Mayfair, and a couple of Ferraris. It's really the only conclusion you can draw.

Indeed but not where you would expect

If you think Chris Holder is going to ride for a club owned by Buster I think you are deluded

Newcastle v Leicester 12th June 2022

I think 10 teams is being very optimistic. But you cannot expect the BSPL to act in the best interests of all the clubs, they act in the best interests of themselves. -

Some of us DO know and believe me, Rob Grant has offered more money to League No. 1s than poole are paying any of theirs. This is not about being a cheapskate it's about picking poorly and not being an attractive proposition -

Newcastle have offered good terms to many riders, they have not been paying peanuts. They have just chosen monkeys -

Rob Grant has the best of intentions and put his money where his mouth was, unlike most people on here. Unfortunately for Newcastle supporters he saved the club from extinction but doesn't have the knowledge or the skillset in how to run a speedway business -

There's only so much you can manufacture, you can't keep propping up bad business. Newcastle have a decent track, decent supporters, but they put together a pretty awful side. Who they employ is up to them, unfortunately only Paul Starke and Matty Wethers you would want in the trenches with you. Wrighty was always going to go well at reserve last year, he's a quality rider at that level, but in the main body, he's never going to return much. BWD was always a desperate signing, Clegg has always been a jumper and refuses to cut that habit out of his game, Complin is putting the effort in, but can't make a start. Jack Smith admitted on air that his entire speedway apprenticeship has been at tracks where no skill is required. What a sensible decision that was. All the teams this year had the same opportunity to sign the same riders. You can't have equality of outcome. Only equality of opportunity -

I think that was exactly what the discussion was about -
It's outrageous Steve Worrall missing all those meetings that he didn't miss
-
Stark much less potent in the top five. You know at least one of his rides will be EF

If it's prediction time, how many times will TJ go through the tapes?

You gotta love it. Belle vue running RR for max when Josh Pickering is there commentating. A couple of weeks ago Josh happily went by max in heat 13 but no doubt Mark Lemon thinks he’ll get more from RR. Be interesting to see how that ends up ? -
Not without someone with very deep pockets getting involved and risking 99% of it going down the toilet.

King's Lynn v Peterborough 30/05/22
wtf replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Every rider in the pits was of the same thought train as you. Unfortunately for them, someone else figured that if Peterborough last week didn't need a grade for the whole meeting, then no need at Lynn last night. It just meant there was a 6 inch wide berm of material that everyone wanted to be on and if you missed it you went backwards. Hans showed his class last night, how to stay ahead whilst not being the quickest guy out there. -

Hans is weird though, he runs gearing that no other riders run, he can make big track engines work on small tracks and vice versa. The reality is his finest skill is being able to win races whilst not being particularly quick. The truth is that's harder to do on the big wide spaces of the showground, belle vue, sheffield etc than the slightly more compact dimensions of somewhere like Plymouth. He's a bit old school in the sense that he's one of the few riders left who have genuine throttle control. (they all like to think they do, trust me, but he really does) You can always see him varying the throttle all the way round the lap. He did great earlier in the year at Ipswich for example. A more technical track where he was on a Max until Jason Doyle rather forcefully decided to express himself in heat 15. Lynn is a tough place to defend, easier than Peterborough, Belle Vue or Sheffield, but Ipswich and Wolverhampton definitely suit Hans' skillset more these days. -
