  1. Ashton Boughen been ultra impressive so far. Advantage Cheetahs. Bears just too inconsistent and seem to lack belief tonight.
  2. Like your optimism Neila but only the belief, determination and preparation of the 7 Comets on the night can do that. I would much rather we had the home leg first on this occasion mainly because I believe another poor result at Poole will once again affect the gate at Northside. The 7 riders wearing the big C in the Poole leg need to all produce a performance aimed at keeping the deficit to 10 or less, this would set the 2nd leg up nicely. We would still need to pull off the result of our season but the racing should be top drawer and hopefully a great watch if the Comets have the bit between their teeth. UTC !
  3. Would make the maths easier but I think I would rather see the rider pool increase over the coming years in the possibly forlorn hope that more Speedway teams will return.
  4. With the present number of teams across both leagues (16) i'm surprised the feasability of one league isn't being talked about. Currently about 90-95 riders employed in the top two leagues. You would need at least 112 to go to one league. Many fans in the Championship haven't been happy this season with the dearth of fixtures and sometimes 4-5 week gaps between home meetings. It's hard to think that in 2003 the Premier League alone consisted of 18 teams.
  5. Excellent idea. I think Poole on their crowds could afford to run an NDL team. British Speedway needs more youngsters coming through does it not. Well done Oxford on running 3 teams this season, just hope that has been financially viable.
  6. I don't think the Semi and Final count toward the averages but I may be wrong.
  7. Safe journey and thanks for attending in what was our lowest crowd of the season.
  8. Starkey set the the scene in that one only just making the 2 minutes and not really being ready while Ben Trigger continued his Northside dominance over Sam McGurk. You guys won it by a distance and outscored our reserves 9-4. which proved to be the difference in us winning on the day.
  9. Agree because both riders rode their socks off to make sure we didn't get beaten again by the Pirates. It felt like a win after being 6 points down after heat 12 knowing how strong Poole have been in the latter part of meetings this season. Would be interesting to see some stats on Zack Cooks winning percentage in heat 14, he seems to make it his own looking in from the outside.
  10. Rich is probably having one of his best ever seasons . He has certainly mastered how to make a good living from British Speedway
  11. It's not a naming forum this but as the saying goes 'if the cap fits wear it ' lol.😉
  12. Jason scored 10 for the Bears at Glasgow last night. Fair enough Jye hasn't had the best of seasons and it's probably time he found a new team/track. He could well be trying to put himself in the shop window. For me guests are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get, don't forget Claus's Northside average isn't great he has done much better away. On a lovely day get down and support the club.I know there were people with the same attitude after the KO Cup thumping at Edinburgh in 2018 and they missed one of the greatest turnarounds you could ever wish too see.
  13. Berwick completed 8 league fixtures on 10th August against Worky and still had gaps in their home fixtures of up to a month. Not great by any means. 16 meetings with good fixture planning should be quite achievable.
  14. Quite remarkable turnaround that one, bit like the once in a 100 year floods that hit Workington though .
  15. Not looking good, weather forecast for Sunday very poor on top of the heavy rainfall this week.
