Tickets sorted hotel sorted, now waiting for refund voucher from KLM so I can book flights

Some good news, well for me it is !! Was due to fly easy jet Newcastle to Bristol for Cardiff weekend, got email today to say even though flight not cancelled, yet, I can request refund voucher plus £5 credit each way, so I can use voucher to rebook for next year when flights are released.

Not speedway related, but belle Vue greyhounds have suspended all behind closed doors racing, not viable without a crowd !! Think the redevelopment is getting nearer ?

Thought I saw something from Poland for the GP's that it was going to be 8 rounds at 4 normal tracks possible Friday and Saturday, 2 tracks torun and Wroclaw plus 2 others, with crowds no more than 50% of capacity

Yea the atmosphere gets the hairs on your arms standing up in Cardiff, was in Warsaw last year( 1st time ) great atmosphere but did not get the hairs on arms standing as in Cardiff, was due to go to both this year, but can't see Warsaw restaging happening

Warsaw been sold out for last couple of years, this year's was sold out in just over a week. The poles are very noisy in and around the stadium, yes a few Brits but not thousands as you say, torun only has 12500 capacity

Thought I'd seen a post from Poland regarding gp, that was a possiblity of 8 gps at 4 tracks with crowds limited to 50% of capacity.. no Warsaw but likes of torun, Wroclaw plus 2 others on Friday and Saturday. Or if polish play offs finished run on Sunday. These would run September/October.

Also ice can happen in November ( or even October as Workington found when having last meeting of h18tory season called off ) making it impossible to run speedway or prepare a track, I think the best thing that could happen is call off the 2020 season, run with the same riders, if possible in 2021. If any promotion want to run speedway maybe try a one off league with whoever is brave enough to run, or run challenge fixtures. As I don't think Glasgow will be the only ones not running in 2020

Unfortunately now the 2021 date is known the hotels of Cardiff and surrounding areas will have decided how much they are going to fleece the speedway fans for !! Can't see me getting my premier Inn bargain of £149 for 2 nites like this year

Unfortunately in these covid days and going forward, health and safety will be a big thing, ( THJ will probably be aware of the big ins and ous of this in his line of work) would the promotion/ volunteers be willing/know all about this ? Will it be worth the hassel for what may only be a season of 2 months if we are lucky. If all h+s is done would a crowd turn up to watch? If I were a promoter I would think the hassel for a short season would not be worth it, that's without the potential rider issue. I think hard as it is to think like this, I would abandon the season, re-group and focus on 2021, if they can afford to do it, as for many their business and sponsor's businesses may have taken a very big hit in these times. Sorry if this sounds bleak but IMO that's where the sport is. the above is taken from what I wrote on the Newcastle thread, think it applies to all speedway tracks/stadiums. i think once again Glasgow have been forward thinking in deciding to cancel 2020 season. I think they will be first of many making the same decision

Welsh rugby were already making plans for matches away from principality stadium in autumn, from 1st announcement of hospital in April.

Hospitality ( hotels ) and maybe pubs in England are talking about 4th July opening with social distancing measures in place. But as Cardiff is under Welsh rules this may differ, does not matter too much as it will be off, just need bsi to have some balls and confirm what we all suspect is true !!

Probably heard there was to be a drugs test and his van broke down on way to court via Edinburgh

Think wizz air maybe know that Warsaw may get postponed again as flights for weekend of 8th August are only from £23.99 each way !! Not saying we could fly anywhere though

That's maybe a good thing, but you can bet that whenever Cardiff is staged premier Inn will already know and charge top price !!

Think it was in Welsh press last week that the hospital was due to stay till 2021, and Welsh rugby are susposed to be looking at other venues for autumn rugby and 6 nations next year, so no chance of a gp at Cardiff imo

Yea but most of us have had tickets and hotels ( and flights ) booked since September just want to know what maybe happening !!

Just guessing, but probably won't go ahead with a crowd,even in August, gp's behind closed doors this year imo, so would expect all people to be refunded once they decide what is happening to the gp's . I rebooked hotel, but waiting to see if it goes ahead to rebook flights

2018 comets v lakeside 29 October was called off due to ice after the 1st heat of the second match, the riders were coming into the corners then sliding up to the fence, a bit like Bambi on ice but on motorbikes

Winter league !!! May work down south, but in 2018 ( the h18tory year ) Workington comets last match was iced off, that was at the end of October !!

On a sad note 2 ex comets no longer with us, Tony dart and Blair Scott, both seamed to have had some mental health issues. RIP both

Any chance of showing ko cup from 2018 especially the 2nd leg !!
