  1. No time marra got to be up at 5 to work in a local engineering company then home to do housework etc as my wife's disabled so very little time to put me feet up, but find time later on to do lots of fishing on this forum, you be surprised to how many big catches I get up the toon you need to start winning or you will be going down. Enjoy if that's the phrase watching the toon
  2. You got no work to go to THJ ? Sat watching telly all day
  3. The temporary road over the railway line Opposite Asda was removed a while ago after a new bridge on the road to the docks was built, so park up near the big pile of logs and walk round the locked gate 5 minutes down the road you will see the track on your right hand side. Also a small car park on the right just over the bridge, but the caravan people were parked here the other week
  4. Easier and cheaper to fly up from the south these days, £24 each way from Luton !! have a bike and local mechanic for home matches.
  5. Cos Mr Godfrey said Workington can't ever run on a Friday
  6. Lots of trees and earth moved to make the track as big and wide as it is now,. Not clear on the photo but on the infield coming out of 4th bend (Rh side of photo ) is an electric pole about 8 meters from the curb, this was on the outside of the original training track near where the refs box was.
  7. Sorry Geoff been at work,so no reply and I'm not in the know, just doing good guesswork and putting out any info without spoiling anything for the people behind the project, THJ will be well in the know as already mentioned, but was told road plannings will be laid down on top of any mud banks
  8. Maybe not the first time said person has broke a contract/verbal agreement alledgely !!
  9. Maybe Glasgow can have bonus points for not winning the league or cup !!
  10. Thought Lawson had signed for Plymouth ??? Or are Poole trying to splash the cash to break contracts ??
  11. True speedway fans say as it is, even if we are comets fans, just because we (at the moment ) don't have a team does not mean we can't watch speedway and have an opinion
  12. Any team manager bound to be better than Cammie knickers !!
  13. 1987 was the season and it ended when Glasgow got kicked out for how should I say it ?? POOr track preparation
  14. As previously mentioned seats awaiting remember little by little the acorns grow, can remember a little stadium in a field on the outskirts of Berwick was a good little place, berrington Lough was the name, but maybe before lots of people's time !! Redcar also took time to grow into what it is now
  15. Oxford trying to take over the forum now got threads going in all 3 league's
  16. Keep this thread open as it winds people up saying Workington not in this league, but they don't complain when Poole/oxford are posting in both league's
  17. Hope this link works from speedway star new Northside track from the air https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3082127202023137&id=100006776612494
  18. It's a totally new track in the area where the old training track was, but the bank's around the site have been taken out to extend the site, track size around 280-300 meters I'm led to believe
  19. Had a walk down to Northside today, plenty of activity from around a dozen volunteer's, the base is in and looks well packed down, plenty of camber on both bends and also on straights, inside curb being laid, about 2/3 done, shale ex Derwent park being sorted to be laid in the next few weeks, changing rooms and pits to be marked out and built, so still lots to do and winter weather on its way !! Good luck to the people behind the venture,
  20. Warsaw probably sold out as tickets been rolled over many times, maybe a few returns but would think not many, great city to visit with plenty of flights from the UK, and hotels don't rip you off like Cardiff
  21. Now the secret is out was told track based on Redcar with a bit of belle Vue, maybe a bit early for training this winter, would think (only my opinion ) that a training track and open meetings in 2022 then see how speedway as a whole shapes up for league speedway in 2023, good luck to the guy sorting things out, will have to have a walk down this weekend to see progress
