  1. Unfortunately with the points limit set at 40 and you need 45 points to get a result. Most teams are going to be over the points limit come end of the season, thus you have the situation where riders lose out just to get a team within a limit. For once I agree with @Woke23 a rising star position should be made for the championship as well, but maybe limit it to the lesser experienced riders, rather than the ones on the premiership
  2. What average could the comets get Steve Lawson to come back in on with a 8% reduction several years out, would mean a minus average, so we could sign a team full of bewleys and Bartoz's 😁
  3. What average could the comets get Steve Lawson to come back in on with a 8% reduction several years out, would mean a minus average, so we could sign a team full of bewleys and Bartoz's 😁
  4. But if one of the last signing is on 7.99 / 8.00 🤔 average they would have to wait for this year's rules to be rubber stamped at the delayed AGM, to make sure the signing would be allowed, before tying up the rest of the team
  5. Not even worth it, had plenty of chances before the offences, got released but broke conditions then put back in jail. A leopard never changes it's spots, then what about the stuff he allegedly took of fellow riders from changing rooms, and being high as a kite several times when riding. When he was allegedly injured at Derwent park, the Scunthorpe manager Eric boocock told him to get out of my sight and don't come back, as he was bouncing all round the pits
  6. Hope your not thinking of an ex jailbird 😟 but Zack w might work, but he will be in long track several weekends, but I think at least 1 possibly 2 rounds have been lost
  7. Apparently a statement to be released at 6pm so the other thread on the AGM says
  8. God help us getting an answer off them in charge over this, they still haven't confirmed or denied that the AGM took place yesterday, never mind a statement of what may or may not has happened 🤔
  9. Didn't Godfrey and co buy a load of bikes to help ease the cost of speedway?? Wonder what happened to these 😝
  10. @SteelShoe so is yours regarding the meet up and meal on Saturday 😁
  11. Unfortunately that's what has been allowed to happen, yes when you make it and ride for a few teams more bikes/ personal are required, but how many youngsters now believe that they can be/ are full time speedway riders scoring a couple of points at reserve. Think some riders need a job and ride speedway as a paid hobby
  12. Workington have a fans sponsorship available for riders fuel oil and tyres, you get your name in the program, couple of free tickets and a track walk etc. Will be availability if anyone is interested, contact the club 😄
  13. Gary clegg come on down you have won bullies star prize of a speedboat 😁 thanks to Google
  14. Think for the individual club streams a third goes to the stream provider, third to the club and a third goes to the BSPL that's on top of the provider buying a licence to film meetings. Don't know the financial parts for BSN
  15. Will have to dig me programs out to see who you are, I was part of the track staff in this season 85
  16. Only if he puts in a full season, but still has to potential to be a number 1 IMO
  17. Several names came to Workington in the various Ian Thomas era's, 3 of them, early 70's. A Junior year in 85, then the return in 99 . Love him or hate him Ian was always a showman. Can remember a Jim Bowen (bullseye) comedy night in 85 was brilliant but could not repeat it today, due to the content 😁
  18. Well a last 3 I've heard off someone out of Workington, is cook starke and trigger, I bloomin hope not
  19. Are you stopping driving your laal bus so you can go every week 🙃
  20. He did a great personal appearance at Workington in the early 70's 😄
  21. Part of me gets this, but as you know most promotions are only breaking even at the very best, look at Plymouth the boss has stated he has lost 350k over 7 years !!! So if 2H 2A that's potentially more money for the clubs to lose, but if it stays 1H 1A more clubs may stand s chance of breaking even via help from sponsorship
  22. Unfortunately they are in it for their own good, it's a closed shop. Wasn't Matt ford high up on a committee at one time, but others did not want to do what was suggested. That's why a totally independent person/ group would have to be in charge, but can't see it happening
  23. Didn't them in charge a few years back sugest a fans forum type thing, where a fan from each club would take forward comments/suggestions from fellow fans to them in charge, but can't remember if anything happened
  24. Suits are sponsored, at some teams, the company or a fan pays for the suit and at the end of season it's yours to keep, that's what Workington do 😀
  25. With the cold weather up and down the country, I predict it could be colder inside at the AGM is it still scheduled for Tuesday ??
