According to the weekly averages in the speedway star Batch is on 8.10 after 8 meetings not bad for someone who many say is past it 😃 think he started the season at 6.80 so an increase of 1.30 is not bad for an old timer 😜

FYI batch has been scoring a solid 7-12 points in the meetings so far for the Comets. If our top 5 turn up they could score 45 points between them, but could also do sod all 😜 just need no retirements in point scoring position like last week at home, which cost us the win

Honestly can't see many Oxford fans travelling for the 2 meetings especially after seeing the side put out at Edinburgh 2morrow. Imo taking the fans of both sides for granted with that side, so won't be much booiing, as Poole are not riding 😜

Very poor Oxford side listed for Edinburgh, but unfortunately they have better guests on Saturday, with sedgman for riss , cairns for Killeen and mcdiamort back from his trip to Poland

The return of the cookie monster ( if fully fit 🤔 ) could tip this meeting in the favour of the Comets, more so if Killeen is out injured. Also could have a chance of beating the tiggers on Friday, the Comets have ridden well at ashfield in previous years and the tiggers are having a few close meetings at home , or even getting beat

Another tough meeting for the Comets, hopefully the mid week rain and later start time will help the track preparation,

Think this deserves it own page, sadly Jenga has recently passed away, but love him or loath him on here, he was certainly a character. RIP fellow worky fan this was previously posted on the Workington thread Hi all, I hope this is okay to post as a comment in here. I know many of you may have known my father as Jenga / j20hh. He sadly passed away recently after battling with various illnesses the last couple of months, but I know he was fairly active on here, and I thought it would be fitting to log into this account to announce it. I'm aware he was a bit of a marmite character on these forums, but he was on here exactly how he was in real life, a windup merchant with bad grammar. It's been fascinating to look back through his posts and comments, and more so the replies from other people. I can only apologise if he aggravated any of you with his comments, but know that they've brought a grieving son a great deal of joy, to have an online archive of my Dad just trying his best to wind people up over a sport he loved. Speedway and Workington Comets were a huge part of my Dad's life, and a huge part of my childhood, I'm sure I'll have to get down to Northside to honour his memory soon. If any of you happened to know him in real life, I'd be more than happy to pass on funeral details over a PM. Thanks
