  1. After reading IOW have installed solar panels to help power smallbrook, maybe THJ can run a cable from one of the nearby windmills to power the speedway facilities ? Or maybe look into solar panels like IOW ?
  2. Sometimes less is more especially in these financial times, maybe could run 2 home and 2 away meetings a month between May and end of August, you will have meaningful fixtures and the fan will be paying only twice a month instead of every week, If any club want to run more fixtures plenty of free dates on this schedule
  3. Good luck to sll involved looking forward to details, have a few friends from other parts of the country looking to come up to see the new track/team
  4. Workington were one of the solid teams in the H18TORY season, maybe the Tigger's should try a strength in depth team instead of an out and out number 1 who often does not perform to what is expected, especially if on a guarantee pay rate like a certain top rider a few years ago who was born in Cornwall or Cumbria !!!
  5. Yea come over from Aussie we'll put you up no problem, did not say it was an old static caravan at the track, and your a security guard when your not riding
  6. Jacko has retired as a 3 time champion
  7. Money it is Glasgow but will be good to watch, don't know if he will be available for all the fixtures, lots of international events now on Friday like GP2 and under 23 events etc
  8. He does lie down every day , he's got too, to help keep the wrinkles away to look younger than 70
  9. THJ will probably want to borrow your Zimmer frame geoff
  10. A good few years ago Workington had about another 8 pubs than the ones mentioned, and THJ has missed out the bluebell, grapes and miners arms only a quick stagger from the ones previously mentioned
  11. Been twice but no one seams to meet in any one area, bars around the old town square have a few fans in. The English pub had a few people in as well
  12. Was an issue with electric supply parts been stolen by the traveling people, which on the same time / nite as being pinched caused a blackout at Asda, not far away, then a cash machine got stolen, local police still to decide if it was linked, plods not very bright in Workington!!! Not heard if the electric supply was being re-installed as a very high cost was quoted by the electric supply firm .
  13. What about poaching lawson from Plymouth??
  14. All I can say is H18TORY I can die happy knowing we won the treble!! And we will be back UTC
  15. I can think of 2 one splashes the cash and has an empty trophy cabinet, the other has a full cabinet !!
  16. Where you been Jenga ? Thought you got a ban !!
  17. New Travelodge opposite old stadium 10 minutes walk to new track, Spoon's in town for drink or station road working man's club to watch speedway GP . THJ drinks in scaryport. (Marypory ) if you can be brave to meet him
  18. So do I Geoff, but keep away from the shambles that has just finished, start lower down and run training schools etc to bring in the money,( hopefully,) then see what happens in the future, UTC
  19. Looks like we've been demoted to the national League page now see THJ 's post Workington 2023 hopefully the comets will rise again in the 3rd (better ) league UTC
  20. Here's a couple for starters Adam roynan, Kyle bickley and Archie Freeman. Then any local youngsifor a reserve place
  21. With what's been happening in the last few weeks, looks likes NOBODY is running the sport !!! If nothing is done to stop this happening again ( same said most years by the way ) we won't have a sport in the future!!! I'm from Workington and a great new track is waiting to open, but I bet the people behind the venture are thinking what the hell is happening to speedway !!
  22. Just when you think it can't get any worse, along comes a decision to move the final to kings Lynn, most Leicester fans won't be able to watch their home team possible lift a trophy and Poole fans will find it even more difficult to travel to kings Lynn, even more of a Mickey mouse sport than I thought it was, but somehow I can't see the powers that be care about anything
