  1. A very patched up comets side, good luck lads UTC hope the travelling fans have a gud yan
  2. To complicate matters the NDLRC is held on the 24th of September, and had been planned since the beginning of the season, do Glasgow or Redcar arrange a meeting on this day and affect the NDLRC meeting at Workington ??
  3. Ashton boughen has said on Facebook he's resting for a few days, after last nites crash
  4. Well really enjoyed watching on BSN some fantastic racing from both teams, at times it felt like I had to watch from behind the sofa, as the racing was that fast and close. We'll done all,
  5. A lot of it now is how fast you can evacuate an area if !! Something happened, often on temporary stands you have long lines of seats and few exit plaxes where in stadiums, these lines of seats are shorter and more exit points, plus the amount of stewards required per so many of a crowd is a big ask these days
  6. How the hell do pirates fans ? Take over most forum pages
  7. The lad only turned 16 2 weeks ago, imo got lots of potential, but I think guesting for premiership sides a bit too early in his speedway career
  8. Won't be boxall riding at Mildenhall on Sunday now
  9. Elf and safety unfortunately take over everywhere, alsorts of rules in place to comply with increased crowds, and common sense goes out of the window
  10. Got a premier Inn booked yesterday just after date announced, just ove £300 for 2 notes, can live with that price, looked later as a friend was trying to find somewhere, same hotel £600 !!! Other 4* hotels £600 a nite !!! Not a bit of wonder people think twice about going, can do Poland cheaper
  11. Most city centre hotels are now priced around £150 or more on a Saturday nite, with or without events on, but you would not know Geoff as you get free digs with driving the bus by the way have you priced up the Keswick premier inn, £175-200 a night!! So Cardiff is cheaper
  12. Enjoyed watching on TV last night, went last year, could not go this time due to holidays, but have booked a hotel for 2024, yea not cheap, but it's a great weekend catching up with friends from worky and all over the country, bring it on
  13. How cheap did them trophies look also fireworks very poor this year
  14. Congrats to the tiggers only team to ride as a pair especially in the final , cammie knickers now has a job this week to clear the spiders and dust out of the trophy cupboard
  15. Seen the kid 3-4 times this year at worky, very impressed for a 15/16 year old can gate can overtake and not a one line pony. Willing to race, if he keeps grounded and gets some good help and advice along the way. IMO he will go far, the last 2 riders I had the same feeling about were Joe screen riding round belle Vue after the meeting, and Dan bewley, I've been following this daft sport since 1970, so can spot good or bad
  16. When Workington closed in 1981 I still followed speedway, traveling to Bradford, belle Vue Middlesbrough etc and the one off championship rounds. Never lost the interest still got speedway star, no forums back then, Today still following speedway lots of away trips, worky been reborn twice 1999 and 2023 I'm still enjoying the journey
  17. Been bikes racing on track today, don't know who was involved, but Ashton boughen put a couple of videos on his Facebook page
  18. No Workington have an agreed long lease for the land off the local council who own the land
