Not what I'm hearing, would cost a fortune to light the track, and the road to the track, as this would probably fall under elf and safety. Was told looking at sat or sun afternoon
-
If you get planning permission, take a look at northside arena in Workington, to see what can be built, but you won't need as much space as Wolverhampton not used to big tracks Good luck for the future
-
Soon but if speedway has no money why is it in tenerife ? Also, hearing still lots to discuss/decide on, teams to move up as big doubts about Birmingham/Wolverhampton team, and Peterborough, these may have to be replaced to make premiership viable
-
The ones in charge are that shortsighted plan B won't have entered their heads yet !!
-
Like usual some clubs can't see the long term benefits, they wanted to change things as it didn't suit certain clubs !!
-
I've liked it for you geoff100
-
The British leagues should be having British youngsters at 6+7 also British U24 in the team, instead of all the foreign riders imo
-
Probably will be sat or Sun but this will still cause problems for some clubs if they have riders in Polish division 1 or 2 who ride on Saturday, they will have missing riders,
-
Even if he found and sold 200 Gérard engines the BSPL seem to have lost it would only be a drop in the Ocean Forgot about these whatever happened to them, thought they were gonna save/reduce costs for British speedway?? Just another shambles by them in charge or Godfrey?
-
My guess is he will be back at Glasgow as they own his contract and he works for allied vehicles, plus will do a good job on a 5 ish average, this year at Redcar and belle Vue he always had a heat win in him, and solid scores, also see him as a rising star at belle Vue

Please NO

2018 when Workington won the treble in the Championship we raced 3 meetings over the last weekend in October to get the finals finished, the outstanding league meeting was iced off. So the Shambles led by the bspa or whatever they call themselves today has been going on for 5 years and shows no sign of improvement . Maybe this could be top of the list in Tenerife, leagues and play offs MUST be completed by end of September

Harry said he was going to ride again as he knows how good he was in 2022, said he has got himself sorted out, so onwards and upwards for the kid. But with no NDL where is Harry and others gonna get racing time on bikes, the powers that be should have a plan to bring the young riders through the system !!! And it seems like the northern junior league has imploded as well

Looking forward to meeting you at worky next year mr shovler when the mighty Poole come to town, but you will need a road map to find a place this far north if you come up, but as your quote you must av been up a few times if you know the track and which riders can ride the place
-
Just got to look at back issues of speedway star after the season has finished, several times it said Glasgow s "success" has cost a small fortune, even quoted after Poole threw the title away that the owners had invested over £3 million since taking over the club, yes Glasgow are still running but probably at a high cost to the owners every year.
-
Quite a lot of riders have good sponsors large and small all add up, these are used to cover machinery costs, travel money is paid by the promotion home and away, so points money is the riders pay, if you are the better rider scoring 8 - 10 points they could have a pay packet well of over £1000 a meeting, twice a week 25 meetings is 25k or more in just over 6 months, I have to work 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year for that figure. Yes the young riders have to start at the bottom on less money, but how many are full time speedway riders ?? Not having a go at the riders, it's a dangerous sport but they have to be reasonable when talking to clubs, just because this is in the comets section it applies to all speedway clubs. Thoughts anyone ?

Might be a secret

Good to see 2morrows end of season presentation and party nite is sold out, more fundraising for the club, will we hear some news about next season on the nite ??

All threads turn into Poole threads

One big problem with lowering the averages is the following year riders are on a higher inflated average then maybe not get a team place, As usual the ones in charge have no ongoing plan, do this one season, then do that another season, if they don't get their act together and have a 2/3 year plan speedway will bump along until no clubs are left !!
