  1. Oops 😅 hopefully my disco + app will still work, get it through bt phone/ broadband
  2. Yes if you break it into a monthly cost, tend to agree, but full pass works out around £4.50 a meeting with 2/3 a week, so for less than a pint I can watch speedway. TNT are only contracted to show 18 meetings for the season
  3. Try telling Poole that, they had some fantastic crowds last year, and I'm not a Poole fan
  4. https://gofund.me/3b3943d0 Link to worky comets supporters club go-fund me page
  5. Substantial damage caused at GT Tyres Arena due to storm Unfortunately, the Workington Comets GT Tyres Arena has suffered substantial damage from the high winds this weekend causing damage to the pits roofing and structure. As the Supporters Club we are looking to reach out to our amazing fans, sponsors or local businesses for any assistance they can provide at this time. With the 2025 season fast approaching this is a major set back in preparations for the club as they are currently working on improvements to the GT Tyres Arena and the damage caused will create a set back both financially and in time. Anyone who wishes to help out please contact ourselves or the club via social media or by the email address below... info@workingtoncomets.com Thanks, Team WCSC Go fund page set up, will try and sort a link, but look on comets supporters club Facebook for details
  6. As I still have to work for a living and spare time is at a premium, I'll leave the fiddly stuff to the retired people who have nowt else to do, Derek 😃
  7. Good publicity for the Comets with 25-30 under 16 kids, boys and girls with a GB academy training event, Tom Brennen and Leon Flint helping out. Also a good few minutes on local ITV border news, interviewing couple of the kids, Tom Brennen, Neil Vatcher and Andrew Bain . Maybe someone clever can post a link
  8. Probably correct, would/did struggle round your laal track every week
  9. Wot about the young German lady that you wanted to sign last year 😛 go on sign Celina the average fits
  10. What average would James Wright come in on ? Interview in speedway star said he would not rule out a return to speedway, after doing grasstrack last few years
  11. Got mine on Thursday for a change, usually Friday or Saturday, but the post in Workington is crap, not blaming speedway star at all
  12. Live tiddlywinks will bring in the viewers 😂
  13. We’re letting you know that from 28 February 2025, the Eurosport
and TNT Sports brands will be brought together. All your existing sports content currently on Eurosport 1 & 2 will be available on
TNT Sports channels 1 to 4. TNT Sports in the UK will become the new home for a host of live sports including Tennis, Cycling, Snooker and the Olympics.  Any on-demand content currently in the discovery+ app is unaffected by this change. Thank you, Email from BT who I get phone and broadband with, I get free discovery via the app, reading this hopefully this will continue this season, so I can still watch the speedway via the app on my smart TV
  14. Had hotel booked, but on cancellation with money back, but hotels in Manchester even more expensive than Cardiff, premier inn were £400 for 2 nites yikes, booked Preston on Friday nite £55 , saves going back to Cumbria . Either train in and out to Manchester or drive, that's if I get can afford the tickets
  15. No refunds as tickets weren't sold, unfortunately no one will help out those people who booked non refundable hotels ☹️
  16. But after today's announcement that eurosport is no more, now going to be TNT sports with a high cost per month
  17. Aye not a cheap place to stay, but as said you can have beers while watching speedway and put money into the club, yes parking in field behind the backstraight stand
  18. Was full of them last may when I came down with the comets
  19. J2ohn give it a rest, Will Cairns has signed an 18 month contract ( or will sign once he's 16 ) to ride for Poole from his 16th birthday in late June, after advice (and a management fee taken ) from Greg Hancock
  20. Re the zagar/klint debate, its not who could score the most, its who helps the club maintain the team budget/survival costs, klint lives in the uk so normal travel money needed, where you would have to fly zagar in or pay costs to stay between premiership and championship meeting . So imo klint wins, but won't score 12-15 points a meeting everytime, but will get 9/10 from 5 rides most times
  21. Poole going with another 2 point rider until will cairns turns 16 in late june
  22. Think it could be an elf and safety issue, club's/SCB not wanting people on center green due to possibility of stray bikes, and not enough time for them to come and go from/to a safe place between races
  23. In this financial climate where clubs are trying to not lose too much money, think more are just concentrating on official league and Cup meetings
  24. Heard its cancelled as the pairs takes its place in the fixture list, been a yearly event for many seasons, but maybe in this financial climate a lot of fans don't come too " friendly" fixtures
  25. Probably a delay due to poole wanting season to start at end of June, while all other teams want to face Poole before the end of June
