Workington v Poole Sat 12th July 6pm start
Neila replied to AndiCapp's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Was coming as part of a southern tour, but Poole put the brakes on that by moving the fixtures around, would think about 30 fans were doing the same. But now not many. Also I believe Poole upset Edinburgh fans by moving their fixture, then you wonder why speedway is dying -

Be interesting to see how many Poole fans travel to worky ? They have very good home crowds, be interesting to see how many of these travel to support the team and other clubs ðĪ unfortunately can only see a pirates win, just hope plenty of fans turn up are entertained and return in the future UTC -
Lucky you a run of home fixtures, many a club would like a similar run of fixtures. I know wouldn't be many travelling worky fans, but last year was about 30 on a mini tour, now I can't see any coming down for a one off 800 mile round trip fixture

Scunthorpe vs Plymouth 11.7.2025
Neila replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Has someone found something you don't know about ð -
Just seen this , a lot of worky fans not happy, we had a nice southern tour planned, poole wed, Ipswich V belle Vue Thurs, then scunny V worky on the way home on Fri. A one off fixture is not good for travelling fans a 800 mile round trip.. so no visit to poole now
-
Looking through the fixtures all comets home meetings showing at 6.00 but at least 1 away fixture changed, Poole now showing on bspa fixtures as 23rd July was 13th August !!! Bugger looks like the mini tour Poole, Ipswich and scunny now not going to happen âđïļ

Come and watch your B team at worky on Saturday if you want a speedway fix ð

A great way to re start the comets season, yes a tough meeting against the pilots of Poole, but they can be beaten. We need to get as many supporters to Northside to cheer on the comets to victory against the pirates ð -
Early days a statement maybe forth coming, but for now the comets are back and what better way to start back by beating Poole ð
-
And it looks like your promotion have been helping save the comets, so thank you allied mobility ð
-
Think you need to read the statement, comets return with help from allied mobility. So thank you to the owners of Glasgow speedway ð
-
Still waiting for the last heatwave to turn up and this next one hasn't arrived yet . Better keep hydrated and drink plenty comets lager ððš
-
I live 1 mile from the track, and have heard several bikes going round this morning, maybe good news coming
-
Hopefully a good sign, but bspl are not known to update things on a fast/regular basis
-
How the bspa work or don't work, imo don't hold your breath, but fingers crossed for a positive outcome. Would think someone would have to know something today, in order to get things in place, medical cover, riders, programmes etc for a meeting on Saturday. UTC

Are Berwick fans the new Poole fans ? Taking over other clubs threads ðĪŠ

Oxford v Ipswich Monday 7th July live on TV
Neila replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think because Vinnie was already scheduled to do a NDL meeting at Birmingham -
Too many other semi or professional sporting attractions in and around the worky area, and lots of local rugby of both codes that get a reasonable following, where not much in or around the Berwick area, unless you like to watch crops grow

Belle Vue v Birmingham Monday 7th July PL2
Neila replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is the north and we usually don't get the heatwave all you southerners have had, I'm further north in worky -
From what we know from companies house Northside speedway training track ltd has been dissolved. This company appears to run the comets has the licence etc from the bspa, and sorts some riders visas, now this company does not exist. A new company probably can not be set up in a few days then organise visa and licenses etc. then we have the issue who now owns the track, has it gone to the crown/government/ taxman. Then IF the comets don't exist where do the riders stand in all this, losing income/ potential income from guest bookings, It is just getting more of a mess the longer it goes on
-
Can remember a good few years ago now, but both Eastbourne and Glasgow did northern/southern tours all travelling in a coach with seats taken out to put bikes etc in . Riders mechanics and management all travelling together
-
Hopefully this is the situation, but imo i think things will have to be confirmed by Wednesday pm, in order to get things booked and in place by the weekend, medical cover, referees etc programmes to be printed, riders need confirmation that they are riding and travel plans to be sorted, it's no good saying on Friday, yes everything is ok we will see you for the meeting at 3 on Saturday
-
Yes but if the issues, whatever they are, have not be resolved, someone has to make a statement today to say what may or may not be happening. I'm a comet's fan and hope they pull through this hiccup And the someone will have to be both bspa and comets management imo
