  1. Workington comets have a stall at the show as well, shame more clubs can't be bothered to promote there club, believe Buxton are also there
  2. Think early season the warm dry sunny weather and afternoon meetings affected track preparation a lot, later in the season running later in the day certainly helped out. Evening meetings under lights would help, but would you spend a lot of money putting in lights, given the potential state of speedway is in at the moment. We the fans, at all clubs don't even know for sure that the AGM has gone ahead or been postponed to January 🤔
  3. If you kept up on here been talks of it being postponed for weeks, but maybe rumours who knows, is it not time for your nap yet 😛
  4. IF the AGM has been cancelled until January, how will it help the clubs push season ticket sales and merchandise etc for Xmas presents, approach sponsors and potentially new sponsors for the new season. It gets more of a joke everyday
  5. Any white smoke above BSPL headquarters, like when a new pope elected or have they raised a big white flag 🙃
  6. That's the type of team I was thinking of, hopefully winning home meetings, and competitive away from home, got to remember for the future of the Comets you have to have a team you can afford based on crowd levels
  7. Any white smoke rising above the office in rugby yet ? Like when a pope gets elected
  8. Worky were at the show last year, bit of a hike from the north
  9. Probably Geoff got the day wrong 🤔 well he is old 🙃
  10. Yes a lot of them plead poverty or say they want the fans to back them in numbers, but every year at the AGM they vote to run the following year, a bit like turkey farmers voting for Xmas
  11. Couldn't make it up Saturday or Sunday for official practice day ?😛
  12. But it is true several clubs don't break even with the numbers of spectators coming through the gates, the sponsorship big or small helps to balance the books. Also, maybe more so in the past than now (due to financial rules) a speedway team was offset against a business to offset tax etc
  13. TV deal or no TV deal , IF no decision is made this week, this puts all clubs plans for next season out of the window. How can you approach a sponsor ideally before Xmas, to sell the new speedway season, when at the moment it appears no-one knows WTF is going on
  14. Think a lot of the lesser riders, and some bigger ones ( like josh Pickering) are now giving Poland a wide berth due to several cases of non payments. Several polish clubs are in deep financial doo doo
