Edinburgh Monarchs Academy 2024
ONTWOMINUTES replied to szkocjasid's topic in National League Speedway
Very difficult to say because the system in this country doesn't help riders who are starting out it's to boost vatchers self ego as the savior even though he's never ridden and so not many riders are produced that are exceptional, the British national League is happy for most riders to just turn up to make up numbers to form a team and eventually give up and retire like a few have already this season. I'm not that in the know of any riders who could replace these two specifically but realistically the system fails apart from the odd dozen that make it to higher standards. -

He's not just started riding, neither of them did anything worth talking about last season either. -

I can't see either reserve ' developing ' much, possibly reached their limits already. -
You must be joking, Godfrey does everything on the cheap so more goes into his back pocket.
-
Sorry to upset you, I'd not seen it anywhere official like the redcar website which you'd of thought would announce it straight away seeing as it affects them. Tbh archie never really got going.
-
Maybe Archie's dad or faithful mentor Dave could confirm as it seems very last minute if it is the case.
-
Very funny, the lad was rattling on about how much he missed riding etc etc and now it's the eve of a new season this is announced. Retired? If true then I would think his sponsors aren't too pleased.

Plymouth Gladiators 2024

What would a polish club get in this situation? I'd imagine they will have a clear ruling as speedway there seems to flourish every year in Poland. -

Doesn't Steve "cobra" luxton have some sort of ownership with Plymouth? Hence the gladiator name, and I'm pretty sure he's probably a millionaire? Singular I know but there's a few wealthy people with connections to Plymouth speedway. -
How many spare items of pit crew clothing would be available? Some of these mechanics will be doing four or five meetings a week at some points in a busy season, wear and constantly washing would need to be accounted for .
-
Yes so have I and it isn't, it depends on what motorcycling experience you have! Typical to assume others haven't had a go, they only go as quick as you turn the throttle, in my experience it was all about throttle control.

So pleased he's fired, as good at business as he is at riding speedway - not very.
-
Very childish, do you never read your posts back to yourself and think how much rubbish you put on here? If you don't, maybe start and then everyone else doesn't have to waste time reading your garbage !
-
He's certainly an acquired taste, one to which I'm not a fan.

Get the two evil elves out or redar is forever doomed.
-
Apologies, I hear what your saying.
-
He did have his own groundworks business but not sure if he sold it, it's only the very few fortunate riders that make enough money during the season that don't have to get out of season jobs - most get work with one of their sponsors usually.
-
Richie is suspended from riding, there's nothing to say he can't attend tracks. I would doubt he'd want to mechanic for Steve as he'd not be able to survive on the wages haha - he'd do a far better job than the big lump that currently goes to help Steve though. Also I don't think Richie will want to show his face at any tracks anytime in the next couple of years at least. Imo.
-
Typical vatcher, he's the equivalent of Gareth Southgate - f ing useless.
-
I think initially rye house was taken over by BMR with good intentions, I know for a fact Warren certainly had enough money. It's a real pity it's closed as there was always a good atmosphere and the racing was exciting , plus a few characters about the place. Makes you wonder what happened to the likes of Steve Naylor and others like Webby etc .
-
I hear what you say but it was meant as a team issue to prevent individuals being selfish. How often do these individuals get caught anyway? Everyone needs to care ! It has a roll on effect when someone takes banned substances.
-
Maybe the rules need to be that if a team member gets caught then the whole team gets banned for a month, that should inspire each team member to deter whoever is thinking about taking anything, not to. The one caught then gets a ban and on returning from this then needs to prove they have worked with a drugs support service.
-
Totally agree, it's not the first time a top rider has been caught taking drugs. Richie maybe thought he'd get away with it , how often he was doing this recreationaly is up to him but ignorance of after effects on himself and more importantly others is shameful. On the other hand if , as has come out his drink was spiked then he's been very unlucky.

Looking forward to this meeting, away working down here so found something to do weather dependent.
