I know that , but alot of them are paid team members once the season starts.
-
Surely some of these riders can't be classed as amateur? Certainly not in ability anyway .
-
Thanks Steve

What day and time are redcar racing ?
-
Quite a few riders will not score enough to pay for their own tyre , that's totally mad . They then have fuel and general wear ontop of that . Good job these boys aren't professional ? Oh wait , some probably are . Time to get some good sponsors or the bank of mum and dad . After all this I just hope they all enjoy racing and stay safe.

And if I remember rightly it did shane no harm and made him into a much better rider - a lesson for the modern day teams , they could learn alot from this. -

Flemming Graversen and GM dispute
ONTWOMINUTES replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
From pictures I've seen , fgm are using the gm bottom end ( from the barrel down ) and have engineered a completely new type of cylinder head . -
Nice to see teams filling up the places with home grown talent - not, and then people wonder why british speedway way is in a mess . I feel sorry for the british riders who will end up without a team .

Thanks , that's about as much as I knew too .

Any of you fen tiger fans remember a rider called ian peel ? Just wondering what his background is. Thanks.

The untold ron and his medal

I watched it when it was on a few years ago and spoke to ronnie in the pits at Swindon about his heroics - he played it down for such a brave thing to do . -
National League AGM (or whatever they have)
ONTWOMINUTES replied to BuxtonTiger's topic in National League Speedway
With respect to some riders , they only develop to a standard that's still scary at best when you watch them ride. Bring back the use of uprights and it will bring back the spectators ( along with an admission price that is appropriate). -
National League AGM (or whatever they have)
ONTWOMINUTES replied to BuxtonTiger's topic in National League Speedway
Maybe they are introducing the use of uprights and veterans to make the numbers up - the likes of Wayne carter and Gary o'hare can still go at a fair whack . -
British speedway needs to concrete on itself instead of being dictated to by other countries , It's never going to complete financially with poland etc . Like is being said it's a good opportunity to reset and make everything run at less cost , which would then enable lower admission prices . I'm sure clubs could attract bigger crowds and recoup finances steadily. Any rider out pricing themselves would like any business have to be sensible or be left without employment.

Some of the best racing I've seen in years was when coventry had meetings against cradley and Kent in the ndl.

Just looking at these and they sell ( if you can get one) for around £230 . Gone up since adonis was being helpful. -
Steve schofield wasn't the tallest of riders.
-
Tom BACON , vital for pig's in blankets.

Also helps to have a good group of track volunteers to help with the air fence's that have to be put up and taken down before and after meetings - newcastle have a particular good group that I know of.
-
Nice to see positive things happening at newcastle , at least one club has news to spread , alot of other clubs are very quiet. ( Btw , I'm really pleased for archie's dad and Dave rowland on archie's great achievement)
-
He lives about ten miles outside of leicester now. Anyway , he's always been a fans favourite wherever he rides.
