Newcastle v Leicester 12th June 2022
bloom89 replied to justathought's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Everyone knows there isn't really an outside line at Newcastle now so what does Complin do spends 4 laps trying the outside, then Wells left a gap as big as the grand canyon in heat 4, do riders actually watch what is happening between races? -
As THJ says someone from the club who actually tells the truth on what is happening. You've got to think as well our fan base probably like most clubs is a very ageing fan base who probably some don't have mobile phones or internet access and the only way of finding out what is happening with the club is to buy the speedway star you'd think the club would make every effort that whatever was being printed in the speedway star had been checked, checked and checked again. You've got the (supposed) number 1 saying one thing and then the club saying something else to then say what was in the speedway star didn't come from the club, well where did it come from then? It just smacks of being so amateurish.

It's a difficult one as you say and many clubs not just ours is very poor for communication but every week the promoters still expect the fans to turn up and pay there hard earned cash. Rule number 1 is always look after your customers because without them you have no speedway. I've been going since it reopened in 97 and I went every week during the 04 season maybe when Dickie Juul was number 1 until we signed Lyons so it's not about just seeing a winning team, just the whole nights package is like getting kicked in the balls repeatedly imo. It never starts on time meetings always take 2+ hours to run and the past few seasons I don't think the racing has been good.

Vaculik maybe? Isn't Bjarne working with him at the gp's he might've been the go between telling him how much he enjoyed last season just guessing?

I hate to say this but since Rob has taken over the club it's become an embarrassment, he's twice put together massively under strength sides, the team manager merry go round, dropping the gems after a couple of meetings, the will we run or won't we. The track debacle and now the two versions of events from club and rider this weekend we just seem to bounce from one disaster to the next. Now say what you want about the previous promotion and they may not have been everyone's cup of tea but 8 times out of 10 they would put a competitive team out on track. There's no doubting Rob is a great businessman but his speedway decisions leave a hell of a lot to be desired. We've effectively signed one average reserve to replace another after bringing him halfway around the world and only giving him a few weeks you have to wonder whether the deal to bring in BWD was yeah I'll come but you sign my mate as well who knows? I understand riders maybe unwilling to want to ride on Sunday because of Poland or whatever but in the past we've had the Worralls, Kerr, King, Barker, Starke they have to travel a hell of a long way to come here but they did so why can't we get them now? And looking at some of the shambles we as a club seem to go through it's going to get even harder for riders to ride for us imo. I sincerely hope Rob can pull a rabbit out of the hat because if not I really fear for us lasting the rest of the season!

That's a shame I'd have definitely bought it had there been a stream. -

Was there any news if this was being live streamed? Or was it a straight up no. -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2022

Ahh the Jack Smith who thinks he's as good as Zmarzlik (in his own mind) but regularly finds himself without a Championship place. -
You'd probably lean towards the start of your sentence. Either way I think Birmingham should come out and either release a statement confirming he's still at the club or he isn't because all it highlights again is the contempt promoters hold for the paying public they won't say a word but still expect everyone to go on Wednesday and then they wonder why no one bothers when the majority of clubs can't be bothered to keep there fans (the people who count) up to date with there team.

Poole Pirates Vs Newcastle Diamonds 11/5/22
bloom89 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's a very poor statement to make if there's no truth in it, and I get Rob and everybody are trying to do there best and probably without him there wouldn't be speedway at Newcastle anymore but some of the decisions he's made they are pretty questionable, even you have to admit that? -

I hate this comment, yes they are risking there lives but they are getting paid to do it NO ONE forces them to do it. -

Wow that's quite a statement to make. Is there truth/do you have proof in it? or is it just a throwaway comment? -
Yes he is sorry, don't know why I put Edwards in.

Not much interest for the only Championship fixture tonight between Plymouth and Oxford. Starke, Andrews and Morely are guesting for Plymouth. Plymouth 1) Starke 2) Bowtell 3) Barker 4) Palm Toft 5) Andersen 6) Andrews 7) Morley Oxford 1) Nicholls 2) Newman 3) Thomas 4) Heeps 5) Batchelor 6) Ruml 7) Stoneman Going to be very difficult for Plymouth tonight they'll need the heatleaders all firing tonight could personally see an away win with Oxford being stronger at reserve and in the crucial heats 13 & 15.

I wouldn't exactly call it good either, gate 1 has a huge advantage. This is an unbelievable track when prepped correctly but it's not tonight. -

Nothing to do with the weather imo the weather has been pretty decent up here all week. Not sure who does the track now but we didn't really have any problems when Jonny Swales used to do it. -

Taken from facebook, The Newcastle promotion would like to bring you an update on the latest involving Bradley Wilson-Dean’s shoulder injury. Brad is due to see a consultant later this week to get more guidance on what’s needed to reduce the pain he is currently in. Doctors have pretty much confirmed that it’s an injury to his rotator cuff, and have already started physiotherapy. We are still unsure of a timescale at present, but we do wish him a speedy recovery! George Congreve visited hospital in Birmingham last night, to be checked over after withdrawing from yesterday’s meeting, and complaining of chest pains and concussion. We are relieved to inform everyone that the hospital has given him a clean bill of health, other than confirming he has suffered from delayed concussion. As a result, this means that George has a mandatory nine day suspension due to this, meaning he will miss our home match against the Glasgow Tigers on Sunday. George will be back for our visit to Poole next Wednesday. The promotion would also like to thank Max Clegg, who has spent a considerable amount of time helping George, whether that be with pointers, or equipment. Max has allowed George to use on of his engines, to see how we managed with it. We can all agree that George was more on the pace using this engine. George never ever gives up, and he definitely has something there, and as the season unfolds, and with the machinery he now has, it will give him the much needed confidence to develop into a good steady rider. Co-promoter Rob Grant also commented that George has found life hard since coming to the UK, but has never stopped trying since arriving here. We now know with the right equipment; George is improving and is more on the pace. George is a pleasure to work with, and he has come from the other side of the world on recommendations that he will develop into a fine rider, if given a chance. It will be great to his development as the season plays out, and hopefully at the end of the season he’s enjoyed a massive learning curve.
